Very relaxing and beautiful place, especially for the variety of primates, so many of them native…read moreto areas in South America only. The animals look to be in good condition but like most things in Brazil, maintenance is a little lacking and some areas smell beyond the average zoo. The habitats are a mix too. The monkeys and birds seemed to be fine but the big cats are in very small enclosures with the tiger showing the obsessive pacing (I read this is a sign of stress/boredom in zoo animals). One of the elegant a had a bloody scar which was obviously due to nails in one part of the habitat (wtf?!?) Overall a great walk and one could spend hours just sitting and watching the monkeys but it does make me a little sad for the big cats and elephants. Entrance is 5reais adult/3 children. Overall worth the price of admission for those with kids or anyone interested in learning more about South American species. There were many I have never seen in any other zoos.

Great city park with free parking, a well maintained bike path and trail for walking around the…read morelake. Large, clean and decently maintained playground, plus separate work out areas including one complete 'circuit' of machines that are popping up in parks everywhere. For extra fun, you can rent a 3 wheeled bike for 30 minutes at 10 reais. One lap around the entire park takes about 15 minutes at a slow-ish pace. The only downside in this park was the lack of signage so you may need to walk around to find the playground and bike rentals. Also, it felt completely safe with plenty of people enjoying the trails, and several crossfit and running groups in the late afternoon/early evening. The trees are mostly young so it probably doesn't have much shade when it is sunny. There is no shade in the playground area either so keep that in mind during the hot summer months.
