Cala del Pilar was absolutely gorgeous! Since my visit I've disovered that there are a couple…read moredifferent ways to get there. The way I took was a 45 minutes to an hour (eek!) hike from a parking lot off Camí d'Alfurí where I parked my rental scooter. It was a long walk! To say "I wasn't prepared," is an understatement. Mostly up hill, sandy, rocky, and mixed amounts of shade. But all that aside, it was soo worth it! When I arrived at Cala del Pilar there was a staircase down the rocky terrain to the sandy beach featuring deep turquoise and blue waters framed by rich red walls. All that and less than twenty people to share it with! PERFECT! Apparently the red mud near the stairs is actually used by many folks as a mask treatment. I soaked up some sun and dipped my toes in the perfect waters while snapping some pictures. It was totally worth the journey for some quiet time away from the more crowded beaches. I would def do it again! The walk back was far easier physically, but mentally you just don't want to go!

Cala Galdana was conveniently located near Audax which meant I spent quite a bit of time here…read moreduring our say. It was gorgeous! The water was so very blue! An surrounding the cove were tall white cliffs topping with greenery and little whitewashed homes. This beach was slightly more family oriented than I was expecting. Which meant unless it was very early in the day or later in the evening it was fairly crowded. Let's discuss the nudity, now for an American like myself it was very strange because many adults were at least half nude soaking up some sun or playing in the water with young children around. But hey, when in Spain! I proceeded to rent a chair and sun shade on the beach. Now this is where I knock off a star, the chair rental and umbrella were a little pricey for my tastes! But when you're on vacay you try to not dwell on such expenditures. Soaking up some rays while reading my favorite book. Perfect way to spend the day!
