I think my expectations were too high for the artisan market - I envisioned a marketplace with…read moreendless stalls of local art and jewelry, and staffed by the artists themselves. But it was very quiet and felt more like a museum gift shop. We spent less than an hour there. They had nice pieces though - I bought a very pretty tile trivet, and I liked that it said "Made in Sevilla" on the back (vs Made in China) :) FYI short walk from Sevilla Cathedral.
This. Every city should have one. A market that brings together a cross-section of local artists…read moreand artisans and showcases their work and all in a really neat little building. There were so many fun vendors here. Sculptors, jewelers, ceramicists, leather crafters, painters, and many varieties of all of the above. Staff is friendly and prices are reasonable. It can get warm inside, so going early may be recommended. Wish every city was required to have a place like this. I don't want "made in china to look like it's from here ," I want "made right here." And this is an ideal place--not too far from the cathedral either. You're likely to find the best gifts here.

The prices are very reasonable too. Sangria pitchers in multiple colors and patterns, bowls, platters, olive oil dispensers, wall art, and much more. The perfect way to take a piece of Seville back home (in lots of bubble wrap).
