The print delivery is spotty sometimes not delivered. The writing style is horrible now. Written for a 15 year old with no attention span. Also, constant use of the phrase "this is everything you need to know." This is never the case. The same information is repeated almost word for word in many articles in different paragraphs. I wish I could give this rag a "Zero Stars"!! It is completely biased in favor of the liberal democrats and should be called the Arizona Democrat. Over the past thirty years I have occasionally picked up the paper to see how far to the left it has moved. The reporting is biased at best and then reporters often tell downright LIES about Trump, the Republican Party and any conservative ideas. I was once one of three people invited to sit in on an editorial/news review committee consisting of 14 opinion columnists, reporters and and editors. I watched as any conservative ideas (and there were only a few of them) were shot down by the editors. Nothing got by those editors that wasn't in favor of leftist ideas and propaganda. Afterwards, when the ombudsman asked the three of us what we thought, I told him exactly what I observed. He sort of sighed, looked at the one editor sitting in with us, and then rolled his eyes. Under his breath I heard him mutter "Oh no, one of those". If anything the paper has moved further left. Arizona deserves better. A 40 year subscriber. I put my delivery on vacation hold mid May 2025 and restarted August 31. I found I was billed almost $80.00 every month the paper was on vacation hold and they claim to have given me an $ .81 (yes 81 cents) credit per month. I cancelled. BEWARE!!! read more

The quality of the Arizona Republic has continually declined over the past few years, especially since printing was moved to Las Vegas. There is essentially no editing of the paper as typos and misspelled words are common. Papers are received with ink blots or smeared ink across the page, and creases or folded corners on pages. The national news is essentially a warmed over version of USA Today. Much of the content is old because printing is not held to allow content from later in the day. Last Sunday there was a large article in the sports section about learning terminology for the Kentucky Derby "before" the race. Come on, the Kentucky Derby was on Saturday and that article should have been in the Saturday paper. Broadcast times for upcoming events like March Madness games are given according to EDT or EST. Come on, this is supposed to be a local paper. I want to support local journalism, but I ask myself every day if the Republic is worth the price. read more

I called the so-called customer service dept, which is a call center, to cancel my subscription in June 2025. After 15 minutes of arguing with the CS Rep I was told my subscription was cancelled. The next month got a bill for service. Called again in July and was told my subscription was cancelled. Still was charged each month until October 2025. Call the CS Dept and was told that I called back in August to resubscribe. I never called them. It is very difficult to contact AZ Republic without going through their overseas call center. I disputed the monthly charge through my bank and will be cancelling my credit card so that they can't continue their billing. read more

Do you know how I can tell when it is Wednesday?  The Arizona Republic is MISSING sections.  Almost EVERY Wednesday there are 2 sections missing.  Today only 1 is missing the comics.  The comics are preprinted on 1 piece of paper.  The only requirement is for the distribution center to insert ONE piece of paper.   Other missing sections are North Phoenix news sometimes replaced with the West Valley section. This/these omissions apparently happen only in the North Phoenix edition.   The Republic has continued its downward spiral over the last two/three years; editing is poor, too many misspellings-especially in headlines, missing sections, atrocious writing-high school students can write better, and incomplete articles. When hiring/vetting potential employees do you investigate their background or test their writing skills or their cognitive capabilities. DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE THE CASE! On top of these you have the audacity to charge an outrageous amount for the paper. The Republic is an EMBARRASSMENT to journalism, newspapers worldwide and the State of Arizona Recent communications with Republic representative tries to place the blame of missing sections on people that "fumble" thru the papers and remove the missing sections. the arizona republic has been barely passable as a newspaper for a while now , most stories are 2 days old, with the sports section being laughable as there are never any statistics for any major sports , no box scores , no in depth analysis , nothing . local high school soccer or volleyball or running, taking up most of the space. often the obituary pages [ which incredulously ,are located in the sports section ] take up as much room as the " sports " news , and the " sports " writing is amateurish .the editor[s] and writers should read a real newspaper sometime and see how professionals perform their work . there are only 2 columnists that actually write in a professional manner. the best use of the paper would be wrap fish in it , but i wouldn't want to insult the fish. after having been subscribers for many years, we're cancelling this waste of trees. read more

Horrible service! Have been paying for the newspaper to be delivered and out of a week, we get maybe 1 or 2. Had to request a credit to my account because I won't pay for a service I am not getting. Then I changed to only have it delivered Sunday and Wednesday, and they still can't get a newspaper delivered to me. You can not request a credit on your account online - you have to call. Been getting the AZ Republic for 40 plus years and we are past the pandemic and there is no excuse any more. If they can't deliver a service, then don't offer it and especially, don't charge for it. About ready to drop my subscription - have been receiving the paper on a daily basis for over 15 years, and it keeps getting more expensive and they keep dropping information. The latest to go was the TV guide portion. They've replaced it with an "opinion" of what to watch. I can make up my own mind and don't need or want anyone else forcing their opinion on me. Could not read the newspaper this morning as was soaking wet. The delivery person did not knot the plastic bag that the paper was delivered in, like they do in Seattle on rainy days. The newspaper is so biased toward Democrats that it doesn't even pretend to be balanced. I enjoy the comics and weekend entertainment and travel pages. But otherwise don't give it much credibility. I am beyond annoyed! I called last week to cancel our Sunday/Wednesday subscription. I was told that I was already paid through June 21st and there is no option for a refund. Verified with the agent whose English skills were somewhat limited- yes, no refunds are given and I would continue to receive our paper through June 21. Then yesterday- Sunday May 7th- no paper. Called and spoke with a man who said there were production issues. Explained that neighbors received their paper... he then said we would receive paper within the hour. No paper delivered- called again but offices are closed. Closed this morning to sort this out- was told subscription was cancelled. Explained that I am paid through the 21st and they can either refund me now or extend the subscription. This woman said she would extend my till June 21. I reminded her I did not receive yesterdays paper so they own me one extra day and she says it's now paid through June 28. That can't be correct either. Again, dealing with a call center with people whose first language is not English . I am beyond frustrated and have no idea how to talk with someone who can actually help me. This whole process has become a frustration that I should not have to go through. I don't want to give any stars but it won't let me post without a star. read more

Unfortunately we are a one Newspaper town, and we have no choice when we disagree with there views. Realistically if half of us don't agree and read another paper if available, I'm sure half of the other papers subscribers would read the Rebublic. BUT I'm not writing to critique their views, at least you cab receive the newspaper. I'm really trying to avoid saying that their circulation department is INEPT, but I really have no choice. I had received the Republic for well over 30 years, and last October I moved from Scottsdale to Desert Ridge area, and restarted my subscription to our new address. All went well until 12/28 when they had a carrier change. Since that time it's been impossible to get the paper delivered two days in a row. I called daily and spent an average of 15 minutes per call on hold, only to be told that they apologize and a manager will contact me by day's end. This I was told a minimum of five times and still no manager call when I cancelled the paper a week -10 days ago. The first time I called to cancel the person apologized to no no end and asked for another chance which I agreed to. After each call, while I was never contacted by a manager I did receive a paper the next day, but that was it no other deliveries. I finally cancelled, but my wife liked the Sunday edition so after a few days I called to restart on Wednesday , Saturday and Sunday only. To my surprise the paper was here Wednesday am, HOWEVER, come Saturday and Sunday no paper again. I understand I can read on line but my preference is to read the physical paper in the morning. Their cartoonist Benson who is a relative of the late Mormon leader Benson is extremely biased and one sided in his artwork and dislikes being criticized. When you contact him like I regrettably did via email and make a comment about something he responds but does so very rudely and harshly and argumentative. I had to finally ask him to stop contacting me or I would have to contact the police. Never heard from him again. I had gotten the paper since the late 70's. I miss reading a paper so I recently subscribed to the Wall street journal. Same cost. Lots less biased reporting and lots better in depth real truth articles that leave out all of the personal leftist opinions and innuendo the Republic's columnists use in their reporting. read more

Report this company to the Better Business Bureau if you want results for billing or refund problems. That is what I did several years ago and actually got someone's attention who called me and refunded my money! I am a couponer. I get tired of having to go to the store to get a newspaper (I am unable to drive), so I thought I would try it again since I got 2 advertisements in the ads in the mailbox the other day that advertised $4.29 a week for 12 months for the Weds. and Sunday papers. Well ... when you go to the website to sign up, and read the fine print, it's actually $9.95 a month! They now charge a $4.99 set-up fee for EZ Pay - but EZ Pay is your only choice! And they charge you extra for "special edition" papers and the front cover price for papers like the Thanksgiving Day paper. I don't care about the Thanksgiving Day paper - I only want weekly coupons - but you have no choice, you must take whatever paper they want to send you and you HAVE to pay for it! Guess I'll be going to the store every Sunday as usual :-( read more
