I went here on a Friday afternoon, and the staff was super friendly! Because I wanted to work with some friends, I appreciated that it was spacious and had a lot of outlets. Drink wise, I appreciated that they had a large tea offering. My overall impression is 4/5 Here's my breakdown: - Drink 4.5/5: To be fair, I can't speak on behalf of the coffee since I got a tea latte. It was good/ pretty standard. (If you must know, my favorite is the Strawberry Earl Grey at Cafe Flat). I'll have to try their coffee next time to give a more accurate review. - Ambience 4/5: It was relatively quiet in terms of people/noise, except maybe where I was sitting the music was a bit louder. I liked the long table, but there was no back to the seats, which made working/studying there a bit uncomfortable. They did have a complimentary tea tasting while I was there, so that was very nice of them. It prompted me to go smell their other bagged teas, which I wished was on their menu! I would have loved to try the strawberry shortcake tea. Overall, a nice spacious place to catch up with friends. I think it's a just bit harder if you want to work there. read more

Our barista really helped us from helping us choose the flavor for pour over and the suggestion of sweetness for matcha. I'm just getting into matcha and this was a truly pleasant experience. And the egg scone was delicious. 4/5 for ambiance - the study hall was cute but the seats were very uncomfortable with no back rest. Will definitely be back. read more

pricey but good drinks! i had a latte and matcha! they dont do tips because i think they pay their employees well, and so while it is pricey, most places if you tip itll end up being the same or more that you spend. i think the price is about there for coffee nowadays anyway. they have a fun friends themed menu which is cool, even though im a seinfeld girl myself. all in all solid place and i would definitely like to try more drinks as they all sound quite good. read more

I have been remiss in not leaving 5 starts for this place awhile ago. Ark is a great addition to Dunwoody! I am glad to see it is still around after recently celebrating their one year. The staff is excellent. They are very friendly and offer excellent customer service. They source most of their ingredients from local farmers and do not use preservatives or artificial sweeteners. They have a wide selection of drinks, including coffee, latte, teas, and hot chocolate. The also offer food selections that are delicious, including overnight oats, cookies, muffins, etc. My go to coffee is the large drip. It is very flavorful without being overwhelming. Their coffee tastes better than the traditional big box coffee shops for my preference. They are also always consistent. The lids stay on the cups and do not drip after each sip (major plus). I have tried numerous food items and they are all fantastic. Can't go wrong with any of them. The inside is set up for whatever you are looking for in a coffee shop. There is a small section to purchase local/branded items and gifts when you walk in. There is plenty of seating and a great "study hall" area for working or hosting small meetings. I stopped by for the first time last week and I wish I came here sooner! It's a little hidden cafe that I always passed by but never saw. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful when it came to drink recommendations. The vibe was casual but calm. It would be a great place to study and have a nice coffee. I ordered a matcha latte, and an undertow. They were helpful by explaining the drink and how to enjoy it to its full extent. It was a strong but smooth espresso shot with cold milk at the bottom. Very enjoyable to drink. The idea is to drink and feel both separate layers. Loved it! I also liked their items for sale. They have these adorable little plush vegetables with cards (which I just HAD to buy) and sell a variety of natural products. Truly a hidden gem and worth the visit! read more

Really love their motto to use clean ingredients in their food and drink prep. It is quite spacious with a dedicated study hall. They also have a small market corner which is cute to checkout. Coming to coffee it is quite ok. They have a wide range of scone and treat options. Service is good as well. I wish they could serve drinks in mugs while dining in. read more

The coffee here is so good! And omg even better than the coffee was the mocha chip scone! It was so warm and fresh and delicious I can't stop thinking about it! They give you some whipped cream with it as well. I got a peanut butter latte and it was good! Not anything super special in my opinion but good. We really like this place! They have a solid variety of baked goods. We've tried 4-5 of the scones--my favorite so far is the summery thyme with garlic butter. The scones are tender and crumbly--I personally prefer a denser scone, but these are delicious nonetheless. Their biggest strengths are their drinks. Now that Hodgepodge has closed (RIP) I think that Ark probably has my favorite latte in the Atlanta area. I especially love their lavender latte. I also got their tea service today and was wowed by their presentation. They even give you a cute set of timers to gauge your preference for steeping. I also love that they compost food waste--super cool! If I could change one thing, it would be the seating. None of it is incredibly comfortable. Most of the seats are those TERRIBLE metal chairs which are all the rage these days at restaurants. I appreciate that they are sturdy and probably cost-effective, but they really hurt my back, and I always feel like when those are the seats at a restaurant the owners are signaling that they aren't keen on you lingering. They also have a nice long table for working, but those seats don't have backs. Additionally there is one sofa. We'll still return, for sure, but not as often as we would if there were more comfortable seating. read more

Stopped in this morning while in the area for a conference. It was pretty close on my route and had good reviews so I gave it a try. The barista was super friendly and took my order promptly. I almost took a star for this but because everything was so good I didn't, but, seriously please get some almond milk! Oat milk is full of glyphosate and spikes the crap out of blood sugar. That's my only criticism. I got a cheesy egg bite and chocolate scone. Both were extremely delicious and fresh. I love when they give you freshly made condiments so the spicy cream sauce for eggs and fresh cream for scone was such a win. Also love when scones aren't insanely dry, as this one was moist as you could tell it was fresh, yet dry enough to still classify as a scone. I noticed they don't do tipping here because they apparently offer a "living wage", which I love. Their prices were on par with most coffee shops so it's good to know the pricey trips we make to this place are actually being passed on to the employees. Such a better model than passing all the profits to owners while employees (or usually 1099 contractors) have to hope the patrons are feeling generous today. I was lucky enough to be invited to come to the Grand Opening today. i was looking forward to it after seeing some posts on a local restaurant page. We got to try the cheddar scone with the smoked paprika butter - a MUST try! For the sweet, we tried the Better than Biscoff cookie...it was as advertised! Served warm - perfect texture & delicious. French toast bake was very tasty - great combo of soft bread with a crisped top. Loved the Americano & Cappuccino. They serve Counter Culture coffee - excellent choice! They also offer New Creation sodas out of Athens...I love these sodas, so that was fun to see those here. I will also say I was really happy to see the compostable serving utensils & plates. I know this is something that costs extra than the stuff that sits in landfill & appreciate the effort on their part. Atmosphere is very comfortable. This little coffee shop it is a hidden gem!! During a little get away with the wife to ATL ... I was looking for a coffee shop Saturday mornings ( 7:00am , we our early risers!) . Everywhere I look all coffee shops opened at 8:00. Then I came across Ark Coffehaus..I look at the reviews and all had nice things to said about it...I said " why not" plus it was close to where I was staying. Most importantly I need it my coffee ASAP !! LOL. All I got to say is WOW. This little place is piece of HEAVEN!. My drink of choice is a Latte. Best latte in ATL. Not to mention delicious pastries ( maple scone) . My wife got their Pumpkin latte and she love it. She is not a coffee person and super picky when it comes to drinks....and she loved it...that is saying a lot. The coffee shop has a "homey" feeling. The people working there are very friendly and kind. Really made me feel " at home''. The coffee shop does open early but they close early as well ....2:00 pm. They are located in strip mall, so parking is not an issue....plenty of spaces. If coffee is your thing, give the people from Ark Coffeehaus a try. You will be amaze! read more

I came in with my toddler to pick up a couple lattes. The staff were warm and friendly, and very knowledgeable about the different flavors of syrup. I ordered the Bianca latte, and a cherry almond one. I wasn't too crazy about the Bianca, simply because I felt it did not taste like a white mocha at all. The flavor was very light, so I just got the hint of a sweetness, but if I had to guess, I wouldn't not have known it was white mocha. However, the latte itself was really good, I'd just get a different flavor next time. Probably the cherry almond, because that was very good. They also have a small area with local and sustainable goods, as well as toys and whatnot. It looked like there was a lot of nice stuff, but my kid was all over the place.. so I didn't get as good a look as I would have liked. Possibly the best latté I've ever had. Flat white actually, because I wanted that amount of milk. I looked for a coffee shop on google, chose this place because the latte picture looked good (and I'm tired of so many coffee shops being hit or miss if their $6 lattes are any good)... The coffee beans were a darker roast, and I like darker roast coffees (like Starbucks flavor is a darker roast). COFFEE snobs will say dark roast all taste the same, and that was not the case here. The latte had a wonderful flavor (that's rare), in addition to the dark roast flavor that will stand up to milk. They had a fairly large selection of teas (beyond the usual teas that most coffee shops have) that looked good, but I did not try them.. read more

This is a really welcome addition to the area I had the opportunity to drop by today with one of the progeny to check this place out and it was very nice.The folks behind the counter were friendly, engaging, and helpful. My coffee palate is simple, so I went for their regular drip and it was really good. it was strong and full bodied without being overpoweringly roasted. We tried a few of their edible goodies - the french toast bake, the better than biscoff cookie, and the pumpkin spice affogato - and they all earned high marks from the family. Oh, and they offer guest wi-fi. In contrast, I thought the ambiance was uneven. They have a big table across from the counter which labeled as the study hall. That is a lovely idea, but I wondered whether being so close to the counter would make it feel noisy and distracting. There are some utilitarian tables, and one small small sofa. Not a lot of soft surfaces to muffle sound. All this to say, I'm not sure that it works well as a place to hang for a while, especially if there's a lot of traffic. But, of course, your mileage may vary. read more

Today was my first (of many) visit to Ark Coffeehaus. I got a cheddar scone, which was good, and a brown sugar cinnamon latte that was fantastic! The space isn't huge but has multiple smaller tables, one large group sized table and bar top seating. The prices may look a little higher than you're expecting, but for good reason! The quality of the ingredients is obviously high, but even more importantly they are tip free. Rather than relying on customers to generate a living wage for workers, it's built into their costs!
