Armstrong is great. They're very friendly and accommodating. I have requested specific plants many times have gone out of their way to try and get them for me. I think the best thing about Armstrong is that they still have pony packs, meaning six packs of plants. If you go to the big box stores now you can only buy one plant at a time for instance if I want a basil plant I can get six of them in a pony packet Armstrong whereas I would have to pay almost as much for just one at the big box stores. They have San Marzano tomato plants in the springtime. Need I say more? Those are very difficult to find! Every year they give away free ladybug and sometimes free praying mantis that certain times of the year. Armstrong has been here for a long time and I'm very happy they are still here. If you are a senior be sure to ask for the senior discount. They will discount you every time. read more

I came in for the first time ever since living in the area for the past decade and I'm 100% kicking myself for not visiting earlier. It is a green thumb's paradise, a gardener's dream, a plant newbie's haven and everything and anything in between. From fruits to veggies, seeds to mature plants, succulents to air plants, patio furniture to planters, it was like a dream come true. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, but a HUGE shout out today goes to Delisa who just went above and beyond answering all our questions and being the most helpful and sweetest thing. This garden center was pretty big and I loved the large selections of Roses and so many plant verities. Also a large variety of seeds. Although I went on a very rainy day, it was so nice to walk around and shop. The store was very clean and had easy access to shopping carts. The sales associates were also very kind and very friendly. Of course I bought a few different things. All were well priced. I will definitely be visiting this garden center again soon. read more

I can't believe I haven't done a review for Armstrong's yet. I love this place! If you are looking for seeds? Oh! There is a whole room designated to them. Beautiful, gorgeous seeds with enticing packaging. A couple months ago I visited because I had a longing for zinnias. There they were, growing beautifully in pony packs and 3 inch pots. Ok, yeah, zinnias were actually out of season, with fall around the corner, but I NEEDED zinnias to brighten and bring cheer to my back door. Who can resist a bit of cheer? As I was checking out I asked a few questions, and was informed about the best soil for planting them, along with what they recommended to feed all my flowers. It wasn't a pushy sales pitch, I asked. Staff is knowledgeable and always helpful. So, at checkout I decided to add a few more suggested item. It's nearly December now and my precious zinnias know it. They are beginning to fade. I purchased established veggie plants for our garden this year. Generally I start from seed, this year time got away from me. The plants I purchased were all very healthy and thriving. When I planted them, they did not go into shock at all. Also, when I purchased them, the staff was so helpful with questions that I had. Sunday, 11-24-2024: I was notified by email that they were holding a Christmas Market. We were on our way to San Diego but decided to stop by to get a poinsettia plant for my son and to buy plants to fill one of our pots. We love the variety here and how everything is grouped together by type making the selection process so much easier. It's such a beautiful and organized nursery and the staff are always friendly and helpful. I bought a kalanchoe on sale and 4 perennials. Since transplanting them they are thriving so far. Cindy answered and I explained what I was looking for. She was so helpful and found they had just the right thing in stock. I went right down, and not only did she help me select a beautiful plant, she made sure it looked great by shining the leaves, putting it in the pot I purchased, and made a bow. Visited Armstrong's for some tomato seedlings for my garden. I was so excited to find this place as they were fully stocked with so many varieties of tomatoes and pepper seedlings and more. Everything was well organized, labeled and great quality. The line to check out was a little long because there was only one cashier and most customers had carts filled with items. I did not mind waiting as there were so many plants, products , accessories etc around to distract me . The cashier was super sweet and took her time to educate us on the rewards program and military discounts. She even gave us a holder for our plants and a plastic liner for our trunk. The Tustin store is very large and well stocked. It is a good replacement for the Irvine store that closed.

While they have a lovely selection of plants and garden decorations and materials I'm disgusted by my experience. I purchased a giant Ficus Benjamina for my living room. It struggled for the first few months and I thought it was my doing so I placed it outside and purchased a new one. After having the second tree delivered I noticed that it was infested with scale and realized then that the first purchase suffered due to scale as well. I spent hours removing the scale from the new tree and have been fighting the battle for over two years now. For what I paid my constant alcohol removal and spraying of insecticide is unacceptable. Whatever you do inspect your plants before purchasing from this location. read more

So I'm so pleased I was able to leave with 2 plants I absolutely love. They salesperson told me if anything happens to the plants within 90 days, just bring them back and they'd help me. I was shocked. That's great. The succulent selection is massive. Such beautiful and colorful plants. This was my first time here and I was so happy to just walk around and stare at everything. Sometimes imagining that was my backyard. I will definitely be going back here especially when I'm looking for something in particular. This is my first time visiting this location and I haven't visited the business in a very long time. I do enjoy looking around here. They have more of a variety in planters, although they are pricier too. The plants here are very nice and look healthy. Quite a variety too. You will find all kinds of accessories for your garden, so take the time to look around so you don't miss a thing. They also have merchandise that would be great for gift giving. My visit here was because my daughter needed to get some ladybugs to take care of some aphid pests in her garden. I decided to purchase a container for myself. The employee that checked us out was very informative and gave tips on how to release the ladybugs. I would love to come back again when the season changes and check out what's new. read more

I've been going to Armstrong Nursery center in Temecula, CA for many years. I've also shopped at the Armstrong in the OC a well as the Armstrong in San Diego. I've bought everything from small flowers to trees, bushes and roses. The variety of plants is amazing, the plants are heathy and you can buy anything from small plants to more mature plants at Armstrong. They also carry all the soil amendments you need to plant your plants. The customer service is excellent and the staff are very knowledgeable and honest, they are never pushy about buying plants from them, only helpful. . The staff will tell you all about each plant that you buy, everything from how to plant( the nursery does have a planting service when you buy from them) and will tell you how to care for each type of plant. I have a full front yard and back yard that are both full of Armstrong plants. I like the fact that they guarantee their bushes and trees. I also like that they have many plants from Monrovia Garden center and will special order plants for you. Going to Armstrong Nursery Center is my adult form of a Disneyland. I could spend hours there looking for plants. The roses at Armstrong are especially beautiful, I have many of the David Austin rose trees and bushes as well as the Monrovia roses that I purchased from Armstrong. read more

We've been buying milkweed plants from Armstrong for the past 5 or more years. We wanted to help Monarch Butterflies. ONLY to find the orange/yellow flowered plants are the plants responsible for killing Monarchs! Those plants have a larva that gets inside the caterpillar as they eat the leaves. Ugh. Only 2 plants are safe...the PINK & WHITE flowered plants should be used for Monarchs. Armstrong doesn't sell those. You can get them online. Sad that Armstrong doesn't do their due diligence! read more

My wife and I employed Armstrong to design our front and backyard. After being assured the price quoted included everything except placement of our rock swale, and minor grading, we were given an installation cost of 17K. That is in addition to Armstrong price for plants, AND INSTALLATION, of 13K. When we decided the price was too high, we had everything done, including plants, for 15K. However, several of the plants listed were unavailable due to seasonal restriction. When we contacted Armstrong, they said "well, some of the plants may not be available". We asked, why would your "guru" list plants she knew weren't available? We were told, she just gives you the plan and doesn't have any idea what's available. I spoke with Conrad, manager at Armstrong Temecula, and he backed the designer stating she just gives recommendations. When we initially committed to Armstrong, we were told ALL plants would be available in 2 weeks. Find another nursery to do your work! Armstrong does not back their proposals and are extremely overpriced. Could not be more disappointed. O stars!!! read more
