Cabinets laden with necklaces, rings, antique canes, precious stones and works of art will catch your eye. Beautiful, bold and stylish pieces are everywhere whether it be an antique broach and pocket watch or a modern and edgy ring or collar. It's overwhelming at first and you may need to sit down and catch your breath. Take it all in, breath deeply and continue to explore the collection. On a recent visit I was fortunate enough to view and purchase a couple of items from the Egyptian collection. Silversmiths and designers created unique items inspired by the current Egyptian exhibition at the Melbourne museum. The cross over between art and fashion was incredible and eye opening. Chunks of lapis lazuli and strands of sliver with images of Egyptian gods featured heavily. It was almost as impressive as the actual museum collection. The service is flawless and really makes the experience phenomenal. Knowledgeable, charming but not overwhelming the staff are a pleasure to be around and talk to. I would give zero stars if I could. I made the Melbourne boutique call the Perth boutique this…read moremorning to make sure the watch advertised on their website was still available before buying it. The Melbourne store got back to me saying that the Perth store was keeping it on hold for some customer who would come to inspect it in the afternoon. Since no deposit was handed in, and since the website was still showing the watch as available, I purchased it online. The payment went through, I receive an order confirmation email and the website reported the watch to be SOLD OUT just after my purchase. All good, then? Not really. Five hours later, I find out my payment got refunded without even a courtesy call from anyone. I called the main office and I was shocked by the guy on the phone (guys, you really need to understand what proper customer service is), who didn't even apologize ONCE for what happened and didn't even offered me a possible solution to fix the problem. Since they had an identical watch available on the website (just with the steel band as opposed to the leather band), I proposed to buy that one (regardless of the fact that was more expensive) with the condition that they would offer me the same discount they applied on the one I bought earlier in the morning. They refused once again showing an unbearable carelessness  towards a problem THEY have created and a snobbish attitude that was really the icing on the cake. All I did was purchasing a watch from their website. And now I have no watch, no apologies, no valid alternative even offered. You tell me if this can even happen in a store that picture itself as a "fine retailer".

As with seemingly all of the fine jewelry storefronts along that part of Collins Street, Hardy Brothers' display cases shone beautifully with sparkling (and expensive) baubles and trinkets. Julianne Brewer, our comely customer sales agent (who, to me, bore a semblance to Nicole Kidman!), was (bar none) such a terrific person to deal with. She took the time to show us what we needed, answered all our questions, and made us feel like "friends," rather than customers. If there's anyone who I'd want to give my business to, it would be to Ms Brewer! She is as good as it gets...!!! (Alas, it's such a pity that Tiffany & Co. is just down the street....)

The team at Micheli Jewellery did an amazing job on designing and creating my Fiance's engagement…read morering. The ring I chose was different to the standard diamond engagement rings where the center stone consisted of a light blue sapphire with smaller diamonds on the side with a diamond band. What amazes us is the color of the stone in the different light. My fiance has received numerous compliments from friends, family and strangers as the design is different and shows the beauty in a nonstandard engagement ring. I highly recommend the Micheli Jewellery. The team is very welcoming and looks after your every need.
