This was very cool fun. We took a group of 14 of us into this shop and met the staff. Great people. Everyone grabbed a beer or some wine and milled about visiting, breaking the ice and then we were ushered into a kitchen with four large cooking stations, each one identical. We were organized into four teams and then presented with the night's menu: Toast Skagen, Char with mixed greens, mashed potatoes and holandaise sauce. Dessert was to be creme brulle. Each team member took on a task and some of our tasks were interdependent - for instance, I was making the Toast Skagen but I needed Mayonnaise made by one of my colleagues.
It was a lot of fun and the food turned out delicious. The chefs that supervised us taught us a lot of cool tricks for the kitchen and how to choose ingredients. I learned a lot and had a blast. I believe everyone enjoyed it. The guys especially liked playing with the torch to caramelize the dessert.
It was a big hit with the group. read more
