I went to arrichion when I first moved here and it's one of my favorite gyms! It has a great diversity of classes and I love the trainers/instructors here. I let my membership lapse during Covid and recently restarted and still really enjoy it. There's a location closer to me but I still drive to this one because of the vibe and the class times. 10/10 would recommend trying it! read more

I truly enjoy this place. First of all, people here are very nice once you get to know them. Steven, one of the owners, definitely has a dad-like personality. I did see other reviews, many people are offended by them, but I think he's a very nice person once u get to know him. I originally bought my membership for hot yoga, but stayed really for the Sparta/circuit classes because I do not have the equipments at home and I'm more motivated when working out as a group vs solo at the gym. It is the hottest yoga room I been to. Do wish them could turn the heat down a bit. In terms of yoga classes, they offer diff types of classes, which I'm glad they did. Ex topaz focuses more foundation while black opal is more yoga like. I like that because sometimes I just want to do easy stretches. I am on the student memberships, which is about 90$ per month and I think it's worth it you work out at least 2-3 times a week. If you are not unsure about this place and doesn't want to spend that much money for a membership, you can always buy the $30/month as a new member to try it out. read more

This is by far my favorite hot yoga studio in the Triangle, and I've tried a bunch! Not only is the staff nice, but the classes are great. For me, the best part is that the room is super warm--you're guaranteed to break a sweat. They use a fair amount of humidity, too, which makes deeper breaths easier. Also, yoga and pilates classes run 45 minutes, which I personally love. I feel like I get an awesome workout or stretch in that time, ain't nobody got time for an hour these days! Highly recommend taking Diamond, Topaz or Krystallos classes. The hot pilates class is the only pilates class I've ever liked, probably because the instructors are so good about giving you plenty of options. Downside, it can be pricey for drop-ins ($20/class). I'd recommend buying a pack of classes, because it's cheaper and you'll want to come back! read more

If I could give this place no stars I would. The owner is very nasty. Very nasty. Also African Americans according to the owner of this establishment "this place isn't for everyone". When I moved to the area 2 years ago, I tried this Groupon for the Wakefield location. 2 YEARS AGO. (This is important.) I tried it because I lived in Wake Forest at the time and now 2 years later I live in Durham. About 35 minutes away from each other even further with traffic. I digress. I wanted to get back into hot yoga since I haven't practiced in months, so I purchased this Groupon again. Usually Groupon will not allow you to purchase it twice if you are not allowed (at least that's my experience). So I went to this place and upon check in the lady at the front desk (short brown hair with glasses) she asked me for my ID. This was a red flag for me because she didn't ask no one else for ID and I had my Groupon pulled up on my phone on the app (Never had this problem before about the ID). She then asked me if I had done hot yoga or yoga before (Black people do practice yoga). I digress again. I explained to her I had practiced yoga and hot yoga before and I actually practiced at the Wakefield location with a Groupon two years ago. She looked strange and showed me around. I practiced and loved the class. I will say this, these two ladies wanted me to move because their mats were there first and by "there first" they meant pushed up against the wall accordion style. I didn't even know the mats were there until they interrupted my meditation before class. They wanted me to move (it's not 1955). At the end of class the owner (I knew this after our phone call) gave a "housekeeping speech" about placing mats in the parking spaces and when you come into the yoga room etc. The girls left out after I wouldn't move. I believe they told the owner. According to the owner she gives this "speech" every January. It's basically February, save it. Today I received an email from the owner. At this time I didn't know that she was the owner saying that I could not use my Groupon for the 20 classes but either put the Groupon ($20) towards the one class (the amount I paid was of equal value) or put it towards a class package ($140). I called the location to find out why, when I bought the previous Groupon two years ago and she said it was nothing she could do. I asked to speak to the manager or owner and she asked why and what is this about and finally said she was the owner. Not only was she rude she was yelling at her 3 year old while she was on the phone with me. I was explaining her my frustration and she kept trying to talk over me, calling my name in a loud demeaning tone. She was so nasty. The owner is very unprofessional and nasty. I will not be returning to any of the Arrichion locations and I advise you do the same. Especially African Americans. From the ID, to the email to the nasty tone, DO NOT support this business. Let me just say the actual class (diamond) that I participated in was fantastic, but the people at this place lacked class. read more

BEST WORKOUT in 45 minutes! AMAZING studio! I found this studio by chance through a Groupon when I was looking for hot yoga and thinking it may be fun to try. This studio has amazing reviews and everyone seemed to comment on the amazing community/owners and the room was HOT. Sounded perfect. After a few classes, I was hooked! Beware...a great workout is addicting. :) All the classes are challenging and fun! I can't pick a favorite. I have met so many amazing people! The owners know everyone's name & are absolutely wonderful. I never knew yoga could be a challenging workout. I had no idea I could even lift a weight. It's been amazing to become stronger than I've ever been, improve my flexibility, and how yoga has seemed to have benefits and extended into all parts of my day/life. I never imagined I'd like yoga.... but I now look forward to it everyday! I have yet to find stillness.. but people say yoga is a journey & maybe one day I'll find it. :) You should definitely try this place out! read more

Came here with a friend while visiting the area. My friend raves about Arrichion and her judgement is usually on point, so I thought I would check it out. The staff are super friendly and the facilities are pristine. A drop-in will cost you $20 and that includes a free mat rental. If you live in the area, $20 will also get you unlimited yoga for 20 days - not a bad deal! The yoga room is HOT. Seriously, I've done Bikram at a good amount of studios and nothing compared to the level of heat at Arrichion. The room is dark (no windows), but I've been to many studios like that, so it didn't bother me too much. I wish they had mirrors though, as the class I took was more Bikram-ish and I am used to having mirrors. Not a big deal though. I consider myself in-shape and a decent yogi, but during the Topaz class, I had several moments where I thought I would have to leave the room. However, I powered through and made it until the end! If you've never done hot yoga before, then definitely let the instructor know and don't be afraid to take it easy. You will get used to the heat, but believe me, even someone who is somewhat seasoned in hot yoga, like myself, struggled. Although their drop-in prices are a bit pricy for someone who just wants to try a class or who is just passing through, if you live in the area, consider this place for your yoga needs. They offer circuit training and a variety of classes. If hot yoga is your jam, then Arrichion is the place to lay your mat! read more

This is my favorite yoga studio to practice in of all time! The classes, instructors and slight variations per instructor are all great helps in taking your practice beyond what you think it can be. I have practiced yoga since 2008 and have been a regular in studios in Norwalk CT, NYC, Oakland, Berkeley, all over the world while touring as a dj/turntablist and have never felt so accepted and encouraged in my practice. It's easy to feel like you are practicing in a vacuum as yoga is an intensely personal thing, but the folks at Arrichion (even Steve) all make you feel welcome from day one. Arrichion was my first hot yoga experience and I'm glad that I've tried another studio since so I can make a comparison and better informed review. I took 3 different classes here - I can't remember which ones, but I know I had 2 different teachers, one very young, the other a bit older and more experienced. The classes with the experienced teacher were pretty good. She was accommodating, caring, and professional. But the class with the less experienced instructor was very rote and lacked any of the depth or soul I associate with yoga. I need a spiritually centered instructor and a class that is better balanced in terms of body, mind, and spirit. I don't know what temperature they had the room set at, but it seemed unnecessarily hot to me, especially in the class with the younger instructor. I was able to handle it OK for the first half of class - then it got to be too much. I managed to stay in the room for the entire time every class I took, but doing so took a lot of mental energy on my part. I literally felt like I was being tortured, and my mind went to a dark place. It was pretty miserable. I had to spend a lot of time in child's pose, which meant not as much time working my body. Some of the classes were very crowded as well, and I could smell all sorts of spices and toxins seeping out of the skin of my fellow yogis. Normally I love spices, but not like this. A little too intimate for me. I'm glad I tried it, but it was not something I was longing to repeat. I have since tried hot yoga at a different studio that uses a different type of heating system and found it a lot more bearable. I've also realized that I prefer a room with windows. At Arrichion the yoga studio is completely enclosed with no windows and I just felt kinda trapped in there. The studio was clean and well organized when I visited though. It could be a good choice for yogis who need more heat. You will sweat a lot here. You are basically doing yoga inside a sauna, so come prepared. read more

I first came to Arrichion Durham eary last spring on a groupon. I have been to other hot yoga studios over the past 2 years but found them too expensive. After my groupon was up , they had a deal for 4 months...you get the first 2 months (of the 4) for $100 (so $50/month) and then $99 for each month after that. One month unlimited auto debit is $99 after the 4 month deal. This is very reasonable. I absolutely love the variety of classes and I like that they are 45 minutes long. In addition to the hot yoga, they also have some circuit training classes. The owners (who are also instructors) are fantastic! They are friendly and informative. The other instructors are also wonderful. I feel like it's a family at Arrichion and have met so many new friends here. I highly recommend you give this place a try. Under the recommendation of my coworker, I signed up with Arrichion using their promotion, 20 days for $18 (on their website). What a steal for that price! I intended to go at least 15 out of 20 to get my monies worth but only got to go 8 days due to a ton of snow days and unexpected travel. I've been to a few hot yoga studios before and what I like the most about Arrichion is that their studio is clean and for the most part, stench-free. I have previously participated in hot yoga at a studio that used carpet instead of "hardwood" and it reeked of body odor 24/7, so entering a fresh studio with hardwood always excites me. I absolutely love how clean this Arrichion location is. Parking at this location is ample since its in a shopping center, but its a bit difficult to snag a spot when a packed class is in session - you have to wait for the class to let out in order to snag a spot. Otherwise during non peak hours, its fairly easy to park. The only other gripes I have is that while a class releases at 6:30pm, another starts at 7pm - which becomes a bit chaotic with people coming in and out at the studio at the same time. Having at least an hour between classes would be the most ideal, that way you aren't paranoid of someone walking away with your belongings if you get there early to shavasana. There is also only one shower and I'm used to having at least three. Other than that, my experiences have been wonderful here. My instructors were mainly Lindsay and Morgan. They both were super friendly and took the time to help adjust my poses. I've read that some people complain about the repetitiveness of the classes, but I like knowing what to expect so I can practice on making it perfect. My very first class here was Bloodstone. It was so intense, I thought I was going to die a slow and boiling death and vowed several times in deep pants to never return, but as I kept attending different classes, my body got stronger and now Bloodstone is so much easier to endure. I love Hot Yoga here and I love this facility. After the promo session though, membership costs $135 per month, which is a bit deep for my pockets. I may have to just do regular yoga at home. For the past 3 years I have been coming to Arrichion Durham, and it has become the highlight of my day. I struggle with several health conditions that make it very difficult to have the energy and motivation to exercise. The owners (Marissa & Steve), teachers, and people who go to Arrichion turn a studio full of hot, sweaty bodies who come through the doors from all different walks of life, into a place where regardless of age, appearance, or fitness level; all are welcome and all belong. My doctors are astounded at how strong I have become and the quality of life I am able to maintain because of Arrichion. The classes are a great mixture of hot yoga poses, flow, weights/cardio, and they even have a non heated class! I would love to see more community events (and sparty's!) in the coming months--it gives us a chance to meet the people we see and are around each day to further develop relationships with the people we see often. Thank you for the opportunity to experience a place like this...I don't know anywhere else you will find such great personalities, or a Marissa and Steve, [especially A STEVE...who, shows he's most excited you're a part of his classes if he yells at you--you will end up loving him as much as all the rest of us]. For a yoga place where you are supposed to have positive energy, tranquility and kindness, a few of the teachers are very rude here! The gentleman in particular is very mean. You walk in and smile and say "hi good morning" and they don't even respond to you. They literally respond with "what's your name" so they can just sign you in. No smile no welcoming gesture - nothing. I had a similar experience with one of the ladies as well. Very disappointed because you pay good money to have memberships at these places but particularly expect more from a yoga place. read more

I was in town for the weekend visiting my girlfriend and she wanted to try Arrichion with her bc there's a studio back in Charlotte. It's cool that she can come visit me in Charlotte and take classes because the membership is valid for all 3 studios. I've done hot yoga before when I lived in Minneapolis but this was even hotter, but it felt good. The class was almost full and lasted 45 minutes. We did great strengthening poses as well as working on our flexibility. I felt relaxed and replenished after the class and I'm considering attending the studio in Charlotte. read more

Arrichion Hot Yoga in Durham is amazing; it's become my second home. I have been to studios in the Middle East, NY, DC, and California, and this studio by far holds the most warmth and love. When you're at arrichion, you're family. Their yoga classes are hot and steamy, giving you a challenge, but offering you a judgment free space to take a childs pose and sit on your mat if need be. I also love that Arrichion has circuit training too, which most studios don't offer. If you want to tighten up, be challenged, learn how to silence your mind's limits in terms of what you can do physically, feel loved, and find your yoga home, then this is the place to go! read more

Arrichion is a very clean and tidy studio with great people who support one another and achieve fitness results. Unlike other gyms, studios, etc. Arrichion is a non ego, judgment free zone which is encouraging when you step into the room as a beginner. There are a range of classes from easy to difficult and they offer circuit training with weights as well. They have great time slots so you can fit a workout into your busy schedule on any day of the week. I have never in my life felt more refreshed than after finishing the "MMA Yoga" class; I suggest you give it a try! read more

I really wanted to like this studio, but I just can't recommend it. I got one of their Groupon month passes and was really pumped when I arrived for my first class and found out that the founder had gone through teacher training at my favorite studio in Texas, which I have been missing since I moved. Many of the routines in the classes were very similar, and while this place lacked the expert instruction that Sunstone had, I though it would still be okay. However, over the 20 or so classes I attended, I have had a enough negative experiences with the teachers that have given the studio a very negative vibe. For example, when I have been trying to enjoy the final savasana, the instructor for the next class will open and close the door to see if I am still there. I never stay more than five minutes after class, normally only three or four, so not only is this distracting, but it feels unnecessary on their part. This happens basically after every class if I don't immediately leave. I have also experienced very later arrivals to class (20 minutes or so) which totally disrupt the whole thing. This is also against the stated policy of the studio. However, when I have mentioned it to the instructors, they have basically told me "so what, we didn't want to turn people away." If the people are going to be that late, frankly they should be turned away. That is what other studios do, and what this studio says it does. And the instructors shouldn't be rude when I ask about this after class. I think the instructor attitude has also contributed to what I feel is a bad culture in the place overall. I often feel that I am being pushed to my limit in each pose every class, which is great some days, but not what I need on others. Effectively, I don't feel that I am respected by the instructors wherever I am in my practice that day. Despite signs on the doors asking people not to talk inside the yoga room, people routinely have loud conversations. Also, they need to set smaller student limits for the classes. When they get very busy you literally have about one inch between you and your neighbors, which makes many of the poses hard to do. TLDR: Frankly, I stayed longer than I should have because it was convenient and I really wanted it to be good. However, the instructors create a bad culture for the studio and it is hard to relax here. Would not recommend. read more

I started at Arrichion in Mar or April, 2016. A friend of mine in NJ had tried hot yoga and lost a ton of weight, added to her increased mental stability and "zen factor." She recommended it to me while I was still living in NJ but I never tried it. After relocating to NC I was looking for something to help me lose the extra pounds I'd packed on. I needed something "less intense" though due to my active nerve damage and carpal tunnel. Well... let me say that less intense in no way describes the majority of the classes at Arrichion, but we are encouraged to go at our own pace and level by the instructors, so that makes a huge difference. I made my first class a Monday lunch class, never taking hot yoga before, I thought I'd be able to get away with it. Man, was I WRONG!!! I was in no way prepared for the sweat, added to the lack of time for lunch to shower, I went back to work, literally a hot sweaty mess, LOL!!! But I felt AMAZING!!! I'd never been the person to be able to wake up... 7AM came with 30 min interval alarm clocks beginning at 4AM!!! But on Tuesday I was up with NO alarm clock at 4AM ready to go! Everyday (Mon-Fri).. after that was the same for until the end of August/September... when it all just STOPPED, I couldn't bring myself to get out of bed for whatever reason. I sure couldn't place it... I just stopped going to class... After the last two weeks of August and half the month of Sept. passed I decided to cancel my membership... I hadn't been able to get out of bed in a month and I couldn't keep paying for something I wasn't using. When Marissa and Steve saw my cancellation, Marissa e-mailed me asking what was wrong. Then she called me!!! NEVERRRRR have I everrrrrr had a gym/fitness program manager call me when I stopped attending, let alone one of the OWNERS!!! We talked and Marissa motivated me to come back before giving up... explaning some things that may have been going on with me physically and/or mentally really helped get me going and I came back on 9/27/16, and while it's still hard for me to roll our of bed... the fact that they CARED enough not to let me lose sight of my goals, health and well being, mental, physical and spiritual alike... is enough to make me put my feet on the ground!!! I'm not saying I will be there Mon-Fri and I'm not saying I won't... What I am saying is that when someone makes an effort to CARE about you as a person, especially when they barely even know you, it makes it worth the effort to care for yourself!!! If two people that have had limited interactions with me can care enough about me to interrupt their busy schedule and family life to call me and find out whats going on with me and ask how I am doing and what THEY can do to help... How can I NOT push myself??? I thank you both for your care and for your concern and for your willingness to help me achieve my goals!!! I can't speak for the classes themselves because the rude behavior of whoever answered the phone scared me and my boyfriend away. Yoga appeals to me partly because of the zen factor and the serenity yoga studios seek to instill onto its clients. The impossibly rude behavior of the lady who answered the phone for this studio makes me question whether this studio lives up the bare minimum of what should be expected of a true yoga studio. This is the first time that the rudeness of an employee was enough to make me change my mind about a service I was otherwise really enthusiastic about. This studio is walking distance from where I just moved so my boyfriend and I were excited to join. I'm fairly new to hot yoga, having only experienced it in one other studio, so I called the studio to ask some general questions about the hot yoga experience to make sure I was prepared and knew what to bring. The first person I talked to (a guy) was nice and helpful. After getting off the phone, one additional question occurred to me and I called back, and a lady answered. She was unexpectedly abrasive after I asked my question, but I chose to ignore it. I then asked a clarifying question and she EXPLODED. She asked if I had called a few minutes earlier and I replied calmly that I have and that I felt silly but some additional questions popped into my head when I got off the phone, and then she aggressively said "WHAT IS IT THAT YOU NEED HELP WITH? ARE YOU A STUDENT OR ARE YOU *was muffled and unclear due to her yelling so I didn't quite catch what she said*... WHAT IS IT THAT YOU NEED HELP WITH?" I started explaining that I was wondering if most students bring a towel to put over their mats since I recalled from the previous conversation that they don't rent out towels but I know this is a common practice in hot yoga and she interrupted me to yell about how their studio is "like any other hot yoga studio and has whatever hot yoga studios have." I realized it was impossible to have a normal conversation with this lady so, defeated, I just said "okay, thanks." and she sourly said "okay." I wanted to not care because it would be so convenient for me and my boyfriend to join a studio walking distance from home. But then I realized that I don't want to be part of a yoga studio that employs such characters and that I want to be part of a yoga studio that I can trust to uphold the fundamental philosophy of yoga that promotes a peaceful environment. I thought it might be a little petty to write a review about poor service, but I know yogis are selective about who they trust to guide their yoga journey so I decided this was important to share. read more

I had never participated in a yoga class before going to Arrichion, so I wasn't sure what to expect from either the class or myself. Since then I have been back many times. There are a wide variety of classes at this studio, from yoga to circuit training, so there seems to be something for everyone with a fitness goal. Most of the the classes are a mix of yoga and pilates and a few with circuit training. The room is very hot so you will sweat big time. The pace of the yoga part is a bit too fast as there is really not time for deep breathing. In my opinion if they slowed the classes down and focused more on breath and less on the number of positions it would be a better class. They offer early morning, afternoon and evening classes that will fit all schedules. read more
