When the Dr. Hutching came in to numb my son he was very curt, impatient and immediately starting poking needles into my son's gums. He didn't take a slow or measured approach at all and seemed like he couldn't care less about our experience. When it came time for the actual tooth extraction, he pulled my son's tooth with so much force the crown exploded under the pressure. To add to this my son was crying in pain and he remarked " kids often mistake pressure with pain" and said proud of you, ya did great in a very unenthusiastic tone and immediately left. Wouldn't recommend coming here as a new patient if you expect quality treatment or bedside manner.

We have been coming here for over 8 years and the office staff is where I feel there is some need for improvement. I made an appt a month ago for my son's cavity that his orthodontist found. I called letting them know I just wanted an appt to get the cavity filled it was not necessary to have it done immediately (hence booking out 1 month) but I wanted it all done in one appt as we don't live close and since we knew there was a cavity it made sense to schedule a longer appt to get it done at once. At no time was I informed this was considered an emergency appt. Our appt was today. While waiting for the numbing to take affect, the finance gal provided an itemized break down of what our cost was and what insurance would cover. To which I signed and took a photo of. Again, Dr Moody and the Dental assistant were amazing. I do not want to give a lower review for their care alone. When checking out, the finance gal that had brought me the itemized statement before began typing into her computer and said there would be an additional $8 charge for the emergency appt. I was dumbfounded, and rightly confused as at no point had this been mentioned to me. I told her it wasn't an emergency appt, we had scheduled within office hours a month ago. To which she retorted that because I wanted the cavity taken care of in the same appt and not have a cleaning it was considered an emergency. I asked why neither she nor the front desk had informed me of this until this point to which she couldn't answer. I was rightly annoyed. This isn't the first time the office staff has had poor communication which has had a negative affect. I did give attitude to the gal, when I expressed her communication was lackluster. That does not reflect who I am at my core, for that I am apologetic. In the end, $8 isn't going to break me, but the poor communication is really causing me to think twice about where I go when I'm already traveling 90 minutes to the appt.

Not only is the dentist amazing, but the hygienist Sarah is also a rockstar. She is never rough on my gums when flossing them and she is very conscience of my needs as she is polishing my teeth. She always asks if I am doing okay, if I need water to swish, or if I need suction. I will never go to another dentist again. Side not, but a huge deal to me, the reception staff are amazing too. Always looking out for you, scheduling appointments right when you need them, working with your insurance. They just really look out for you.

He said well if your okay with it we'll just take him to a private room and have a few nurses hold him down and get it taken care of real quick. The teeth are already loose anyways... I am not okay with that. We left and never returned. I had some fillings that were done and I had warned the dentist that I…read morestruggle getting numb and I ended up having to get 8 shots in my mouth before I was finally numb enough for him to do them. Afterwards, I was having really bad nerve pain, I couldn't chew anything on either side of my mouth and waited 2 weeks like they said to. after the holidays I called and they were able to get me in to check the fillings. 2 out of the 4 were not bonded to the tooth and one of them was a maybe. They fixed 2 and wanted to wait on the other and see if it 'felt better'. within 24 hours I knew one of the ones that was 'fixed' wasn't. the pain was way worse than it was before. I couldn't eat or drink and was scared to do so because the pain was so bad. I called first thing Monday morning, was told they would call me back, they didn't and I had to call right before they closed. The gal at the front desk answered "Hi Kylee, lets get you scheduled" like she was very annoyed. They wouldn't get me in for a week and a half for a problem they caused even after I explained I couldn't eat or drink due to pain, I felt very dismissed and like they didn't believe me. I found another dentist that was able to get me in the next day to do an exam. 1 of the ones the dentist 'fixed' and the one he wanted to 'wait on' both were not bonded to my tooth and that new dentist redid them. There were air bubbles in both fillings. He was able to get me numb first try after I explained I had a hard time getting numb and I was pain free the next day and could eat just fine. Since I went to another dentist, and insurance only covers the replacement of a same filling after 2 years I had to pay for everything Out of pocket again at this new dentist and have spent way more than I should have had to. do not go here. Terrible dentistry and terrible service.
