I LOVE Art Heads Emporium, especially with the new name and the beautiful interior! I especially have enjoyed the weaving and sculpture classes. Very comfortable and welcoming and I have never felt intimidated or judged. You can go with friends or meet some new people at your table, everyone is friendly and there are lots of laughs to be had. I signed up for a painting class with a friend and was not disappointed! Upon arrival I was signed-in for the class and offered a glass of wine or beer of choice. There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out or for a large class; I've been to classes like these before in different cities but this studio had the most space by far. Once you choose your spot you go to the front and get the designated amount of paint and paint colors you will need for the painting and put them on your own plate. The instructor was very helpful and gave advice for how to personalize the painting to your own specific tastes. I loved how she insisted that there was no wrong way to paint the picture and instead to just make it your own. After she demonstrated the step, she would walk through the aisles and assist anyone who wanted further instruction before proceeding to the next step. I came here on a Friday night, painting started just before 7. Natalie was our instructor. She was a good instructor and very funny. The place is beautiful, nicely decorated. Music was fun. The cons: I found it kind of strange that they didn't come around asking if we needed anymore drinks. Not that it's a difficult task to get up and get drinks, but you get so distracted painting you forget about drinking. I think their bar sales would drastically go up if they did a round or two of going around and asking people if they want drink refills. Starting before 7 and finishing around 9.30 was wayy too long. I was getting restless and, honestly, a little bored. I'd come back. $35 is pricey especially when I've been to events like this in Michigan for $25 and under, but I'll take a discounted price or groupon. Wanted to bring a group to the Pride Fundraiser on July 1, 2021 but could not get a call back from Leah until 6:15 for an event that starts at 7:30. What's more when she returned the call was very rude because she was on the road. I really want to support both Pride and a local business but will pass on this one. read more

One of the worst customer service experiences of my life! The owner has deterred me from ever setting foot in this establishment again. Laughably bad experience. Don't waste your time or your hard earned cash. UPDATE In response to the owner's comment below: Leah and I absolutely discussed it. My group stayed well after the time allotted to complete the art project-- we left with half done projects that were not remotely display worthy. We had to relieve babysitters and could not commit to stay even longer to finish the project. We left a very expensive evening with nothing to show. No instructions or supplies to attempt to finish on our own either. No one in the class was done well after the end time. The next day I emailed and simply asked for my money back. She offered certificates which I happily accepted!!! The problem came after that. The certificates never came in the mail so I followed up with several emails. Emails went unreturned for weeks and when she finally responded she brushed me off and said she was "extremely busy." She responded within minutes to the review that was left online however! Her next solution was that I should drive 45 minutes one way to pick them up if I really wanted them. Long story short she was rude and incredibly unapologetic about our experience-- which the artist said repeatedly was the first time they had taught a class to macrame. It didn't go well and I was understanding. She could benefit from customer service 101. She continues, after all this time, to publicly lack accountability for bad service. I stand by my original review. Don't waste your money!!!! read more

My partner and my sister surprised me with a night at C and C for my birthday. We were very excited about the project but felt quickly deflated when we realized there wouldn't be enough time to finish the project. So we left that night with unfinished projects, no material to finish them at home, and $125 less dollars in our wallets. When we approached the owner about this she offered gift certificates that she never sent and a bunch of "I can't be bothered" and "I don't care" emails when we inquired with her as to their whereabouts. This was a situation that could have been easily resolved and made right by her, but turned into a horrific customer service experience that left a very bad taste in our mouths. We will never step foot in the building again. read more

I attended the wood variety class and my friends and I enjoyed ourselves! The instructor gave us enough time to complete our projects. There were only 3 different types of designs to choose from, which was a little disappointing. The stinginess of the owner will probably deter me from coming back. First of all the price does not include any beverages, so be prepared to pay for drinks. You can bring your own but there is a 15$ corking fee.....I would expect that at a decent restaurant in Chicago, but rochester, I'm sorry that is a little outrageous. Additionally, I booked a spot for a friend the night before the class who ended up cancelling and the policy is that you need to cancel within 48, well I booked less than 24 hours before? So I was out the money. "Can you call a friend to come and take the class?" "Yes, most of my friends are working tonight." "Sorry." Also the class was not full, and did not have a wait list.... I had a situation come up a weekend I was supposed to do the escape challenge (in rochester) and I couldn't make it, they gave me a voucher to come back and do it on a different date!!! That is just good business acumen, see now I will definitely come back with friends (IE more business !!!) and speak highly of the company.... something this business should consider..... read more

I had an event here on Saturday night and woah! Where to start?! First of all, I feel the place is very fairly priced. They have a number of different options if you'd like to have an event. You can do your own thing, or even do a painted picture night with just your guests. We did our own thing. Second, the place is adorable. It is able to stand alone as far as decor. Once everything was all set up, the decor looked amazing. The owner Leah did so much to help make the night very special. My guests loved it, and thought they were great hosts. Third, you're allowed to have alcohol, or have guests buy from their selection. Some of the things not on my menu were a hit with my friends and family (pink moscato). Overall, I really enjoyed my night. I would have an event here again in a heartbeat. Canvas and Chardonnay made my night very special and I am so grateful. They even got up and danced with us!
