I feel as thought Art Mart is a must visit in Champaign. Not only do they have an amazing selection of cafe food and coffee but their shopping portion of the store is absolutely to die for. They have a little bit of something for everyone! Toys, special candies, food from around the world and the deli has so many options. It's hard for me not to leave with a million things when I visit. Great place for coffee with friends, or a last min gift for a loved one! This is definitely a not so hidden gem in Champaign

Cool place if you like art and breakfast. It's one of the more unique places in Champaign. Art Mart is a popular place for coffee and pastries more than anything. Even get some kitchen supplies so you can make your own eats. This is a great place for gifts. Breakfast is the best time here of course. It has very good locally made coffee, plus lots of locally made breads and more. The prices aren't bad for a place like this. It's about $3 for a latte. They have a few non dairy milks. Even better, there's also a few vegan baked goods. The best is the Vegan Zucchini Pecan Muffin. It's about $3, and while it's not big, it's full of flavor. People also like to come here to get cooking supplies. Has quite a few. There's quite a few cool gift ideas. Good place for breakfast. It also has a good selection of wine and cheese. The prices are good on most things.

Okay: I have an absolute favorite business in Champaign-Urbana! This cozy 'department' store has rooms with lovely kitchen and dining ware, children's toys, books and clothes, fun unique art items, candy and gourmet foods (incredible Italian pasta), and a cafe, besides. Everything is quality; everything is lovely. Their cafe has a delicious array of pastries and sandwiches unrivaled in Champaign. The perfect spot for gift shopping! Very friendly service, too.

An amazing place for study!! It has some different sections inside with a variety of things to purchase. The parking spaces are so limited, so please choose time periods that are not so crowded to go! Must be one of the best shops and cafes in town!

super cute place to explore and chill in urbana! there was a grocery section that sold tons of pasta shapes, sauces, and even instant risotto! some other sections include toys, bakery, chocolate shop, cheese, and clothing. my boyfriend bought a box of truffles for roughly $36. we also stopped by the bakery for coffee and a cookie. the cookie was soft and sweet. overall a great place to stop for a quick bite! there are also some grab-and-go options such as sandwiches and salads.

Also there in the deli is an AH-MAY-ZING case of pastries that I understand are provided by Hopscotch.

This is a go to stop for females looking for unique, reasonably priced apparel. Apricot Lane exists…read morein many towns, but what makes it unique is that the merchandise is different in each boutique according to the habits and demands of the demographics in the town. In C-U, it is a hybrid of "going-out" clothing, cocktail dresses (for sorority/fraternity formals), and comfortable, yet fashionable sweaters. There is a great section of basics, including camisoles, leggings, etc. The sales associates are very helpful, but not overbearing. I feel as if they are honest about the way things look, and they give great recommendations for clothes without shamelessly upselling. If you want high quality, fashionable apparel for a reasonable price, Apricot Lane is the place to go. P.S. Its location on Wright and Green is super convenient for students.

I bought a few things, was not treated as well as the other lady in the store shopping at the same time as me. I can tell it was because I'm not white. I came in my sweatpants and a t shirt, if I were to come in anything else, they would've paid attention to me. The ladies behind the counter were snickering about me and another girl who was a person of color. First of all, the clothes here are so ugly. Like, who in their right mind would buy something so basic?! Me being in this store was already a sin in itself, and then I get treated like a subhuman? People of color aren't stupid, we know when you're not paying attention because you think we're not worthwhile, you think we don't have money. You are all wrong, I give this place 1 year before it shuts down. I was in my cultural diversity class last semester and almost everybody in the class mentioned how we should go to apricot lane because we know we aren't welcome there! How crazy! And the teacher went even further to claim that apricot lane has been said to be an anti black store for almost 5 years! Past students have done their experiments at apricot lane, a conservative store where there aren't even sizes larger than Large! You guys are soooo exclusive, it's sooo cool! Wow. No models of color, no employees of color, do you guys even try to make yourselves not seem racist?

I've made stuff with okara before and like the particular flavor and texture-- it feels drier and denser because of the soy pulp, but it's something I like. I also like how not too sweet everything is. Their miso salted caramel tart was also good, I also like that they sell day-old stuff with half price. I can get behind the concept and the intention behind how this bakery is ran. Very excited to have discovered this on our trip to visit uiuc. Would've loved to try their sencha, hojicha, and genmaicha next time!

However, a few weeks ago, (6/6/26) I had a disappointing experience with a staff member there while picking up an online cake order. On the day of cake pick up, I was done with errands at around 10am, I called the bakery to ask if it was possible to pickup the cake early. The girl on the phone sounded very annoyed with my request (I was just asking, they could have said no) and told me they don't do pickups until noon but I can still come in. So I get there and she immediately starts treating me like I was a huge inconvenience. As she's handing me the cake, she pulls out a receipt and started scolding me that pickups don't start until noon and it's right there on the website. I showed her my email receipt confirming 10:30am pickup and how there's literally two different sections with different times on their website so i was obviously confused. but she ignored my explanation and continued chastising me for the misunderstanding of the pickup times. I just let it go as I didn't want to argue but I left feeling very upset. I think management/owners dropped the ball on training staff on how handle these types of situations with professionalism and not immediately placing blame on the customer. I tried my best to smile and be friendly to her but she was starting to become defensive. There was no accountability for the user interface of their website. She made sure to make it known that it was my mistake alone. I have not decided whether I will continue to support this establishment but I won't be back for awhile.
