Like the other reviews, nice art shop. I actually went in for some candle making items. The items available were a little limited, no kits & no bulk wax bags just 1kg bags. Being a novice to candle making I made some enquiries as what was needed to the staff who were more than help full, even to the point of asking another member of staff who had more knowledge. Had a brief look at the other craft sections & seems to be well stocked. I don't know of any other store in the town that supplies arts & craft so probably your best bet. read more

An amazing shop-my son is quite arty and is always in here buying bits and pieces to be creative with. I always enjoy mooching around and always end up buying cards or pens. There is a fantastic range of everything-whether you are looking for oil paints, acrylic paints, water colours or various artists pens and pencils. They also stock creative kits for younger children making it a great place to take children if the weather is not so good and they have some holiday money to spend. The Art shop also stock original paintings and prints-you can buy them mounted or mounted and framed. They have an extensive selection of local scenes painted by local artists. A hidden gem in Darlington which caters for just about every aspect of the world of arts and crafts. From beads to make necklaces to fine bristle brushes for watercolour work there is everything you can imagine a crafty person wanting to source. If however they haven't got it in stock the knowledgeable staff are very friendly and willing to help. The shop was expanded a few years ago and now has a separate section containing the cards and wrapping paper as well as calendars. Always worth popping in there at the end of January for bargains in their sale. read more

The art shop is a throwback to the days when shops were full of little items that shoppers might need once in a while. Its a bit like the tardis, bigger on the inside than the outside. My first tentertive steps through the door was to look for a couple of clips for a photo frame. The shop assistant said ok come with me and dug out a box from beneath the counter full of bits and pieces. Sadly what I needed was'nt there but that didn't stop the assistant from coming up with alternatives for me and together we came up with multi coloured bull clips that made a big difference to my project. It has everything in there for babies up to the leonardo's and staff who know what thet are talking about. One of Darlington's better shops. read more

The Art Shop is by far my favourite shop in Darlington and I'm not even an arty person. It sells a huge variety of framed artwork and just about every piece of art equipment you can imagine.
