I was really thrilled to see the "Tiny Pricks" art project /exhibition come to Princeton…read more Only to find out that it originated here. It's nice to see so many community based activities happening and how celebrated wholeheartedly in this gallery. I'm a big fan of the tiny pricks project. And the opening of this show had presentations and speakers by the staff. Their style is very admirable. They seem to really cherish the local people who took the time to read such lovely pieces for this project. The pillowcases had embroidery. And it really told a little story of the artist. Perhaps it's something they appreciated in there in their hometown, or maybe it's some thing that concerns them , like the war going on in Uzbekistan, or the changing seasons, or concern for recent loss of Woman's Rights in The States. And it's embroidered so that seems so wholesome and so feminine and time engaging so every piercing of the fabric is so personal. Nice venue. Nice folks.

This review is only for the adorable little shop they have in the front of the studio. While I am a…read moresucker for beautiful pottery, I am not the most talented ceramist (yet). I've stopped in a number of times, usually after I grab a coffee next door and take a peak around. It was on my last visit that I finally took home a few pieces and they are so beautiful, I am sure they won't be my last from here. The shop is a mix of works by several different students and even the owner. I am actually currently drinking my tea out of a mug I got here that I believe was made by the owner herself! It was a splurge gift to myself that I don't regret at all. On that trip I also picked up a beautiful bowl for my mom. It had a swirly almost scallopy rim and such a gorgeous blue glaze. And it was so affordable! This is why I pop in so frequently, there is always something new to admire or maybe even take home. Happy to have them in town to stop into and find incredible, handmade, unique pieces! And maybe eventually I will try my hand at another wheel class one day as well.

It has features beginner to advanced potters would love. The studio is extremely organized and clean. There is literally a commercial air scrubber machine running in the studio. I have asthma, and I appreciate the owner's attention to safe and healthy practices in the pottery studio. The teachers are all very talented ceramic artists (their work is available to purchase in the beautiful gallery), and they are encouraging and wonderful at sharing their expertise. Open studio times are available to students Tuesday to Sunday afternoons, for 3.5-4.5 hours. I am not aware of any other studio with such generous open studio times. I love having plenty of time to glaze and not feeling rushed. It is also nice to have access to a spray booth in addition to many dipping glazes. Lastly, and most importantly, the people at the studio are friendly and warm, making the studio atmosphere relaxing and welcoming. Whether you are a beginner or a long-time potter, you will feel right at home at Flemington Pottery.
