Just make sure it's not on a Sunday, because they're closed. Also, not sure if I should keep it on the DL or not, but there is a restroom upstairs. That's also where the magic happens--you can see artists in action!

Very very nice and interesting ceramic based artistic shop located in old town Puerto Vallarta…read more Pieces range from individual hand painted tiles, to multi-piece hand painted murals to vases, platters, dish ware, sinks .... etc. A very large and diverse merchandize line-up that offers something for almost everybody. Aside from the products on display, this shop will also make/paint products to order where I am waiting on a quote for a Hand painted Tuscan vineyard mural based on a picture I provided the artist. I cant wait to get this piece hung up in my Bar area as it will definitely be one of the focal points and topics of discussion that I will be appreciating over and over again in the coming years. Relative to the facility and staff, the facility is two stories where the lower level has most of the products they make on display and the upper level has their sink displays and the artists themselves hard at work painting the ceramic products. You should definitely not over look this area if you are in the store. Relative to staff they are super friendly and give you your space while shopping which I greatly appreciated. Overall this is a must stop if you are in old town as the quality and workmanship are something you will definitely appreciate. When you see the quality and match it up with the great price you will be hard pressed not to buy something. Five stars.....

Four months after installation the glass doors of the Smeg oven literally fell out. I contacted High End and a Smeg repair person came out and told me that the entire oven door needs to be replaced and that the part would take 4 weeks to order; that was 4 1/2 months ago. I attempted to go to the Profeco to lodge a complaint and was told I could not submit a claim without a factura - despite my having the original receipt and a copy of my credit card statement showing the charges from High End Kitchens. I immediately returned to High End Kitchens and asked for a copy of the factura and was told by Dolores the owner that the records are being stored off premises and that she would email me a copy of the factura the following day. That was a month ago. After 4 months of excuses I think it is time to hire an attorney to represent my interests. I understand that one needs to be more patient in Mexico than the US however I feel the treatment I am receiving from High End Kitchens is is unethical and possibly illegal.

    Taxco Exporta - Broken buckle

You will not typically find me haunting jewelry stores, but I gotta say that the windows of Puerto…read moreVallarta's jewelry shops are difficult to walk past without stopping for a look. On the corner of Calles Carranza and Vallarta in Old Town, Taxco Exporta Jewelry is one such shop. I affectionately nicknamed my GF "Mexico's favorite customer" because despite being in a culture where commerce is based on negotiation, she cannot help but pour over merchandise with glee, exclaiming "It's SO BEAUTIFULLLL!!!" And yeah, I'm pretty much fugazi at that point. Bargaining position: blown! So was the sitch at Taxco Exporta Jewelry. We were drawn inside by the dramatic silver sculpted animals and mermaids and found lots of pretty, sparkly things to delight her. The sculpted work in particular is astounding and powerful. We spoke with Eric (pronounced the Spanish way), who explained that the larger pieces are bonded silver over a porcelain figurine, touched up in places with paint. The results are stunning. My GF tried on some beautiful pieces, necklaces and really large rings, mainly. Prices are in USD and, while low by US standards, still exceeded our souvenir budget. We'd already picked up a ring by Mexican artist Sergio Bustamante, which she absolutely loves. Eric did try his best to find a price that would suit us for the piece she liked the most because, you know, it was "SO BEAUTIFULLLL!!!", lol. It just wasn't the right time for us. On our next visit to PV, it's likely we will bring some more USD and revisit Taxco Exporta!

Although their jewelry looks amazingly beautiful, it's not the best quality as they tell you it is. I purchase a belt buckle for my son which look beautiful and was very pricey, close to $400 , and I was assured that it was a one of a kind. Well on my son's first time wearing it, the buckle broke. I have attempted to call with no luck, there's no website and I haven't received a reply to my email. This place in contract with certain tour companies and that's how they operate, attending to hundreds of people a day. I'm very upset and sad because this belt buckle was a special gift for my son's birthday...a very disappointing purchase

I have been here on both my trips to Puerto Vallarta and not realize it was two shops until I got my credit card bill. That said. This review is for the pewter side. I was walking down the street headed for lunch at an area food stand when a nice pewter nativity caught my eye, it was a nice size for packing and I was fairly certain that my mother would like it. This visit I only showed to the back of the metal area as I had bought from the glass shop the day before. Coming in from the back street it was a few minutes before I realized it was part of the same larger shop. Besides pewter they have some boxes made from what appears to be tin. And some souvenir type items like magnets. It is all quite nice. bowls, boxes, large and smaller nativity sets...the list goes on. The prices seemed quite reasonable to me. In the end I bought two of the nativities, my seems to really like hers and I like mine as well, I also picked up a metal (tin?) Box that I liked and a couple of magnets, the bill came to $38 on my visa bill. It's not the cheapest place to pick up a souvenir but their stuff is nice. It's a nice shop. (if you're coming from Bassilo Badillo it is off the big glass shop on the corner a bit past and across the street from the large OXXO. Oh and one more thought, everything was well wrapped for my trip home. Without me even asking. Just like at the glass place (minus the newspaper.)
