If you're looking for fun, thoughtful, and well rounded violin instruction, you'll find it at…read moreNaperville Suzuki School. NSS has taught my children so much more than violin. There are so many life lessons taught alongside how to properly hold a violin, to take care of an instrument, and to play a beautiful sound. They've learned focus, discipline, and how to enjoy learning. My girls started playing at very young ages, and Miss Emily kept their lessons fun and age appropriate, while also holding them to a high standard. She also showed me how to keep practices enjoyable when frustrations popped up. Her engaging teaching style is so motivating. On top of her excellent teaching, the school as a whole offers so much to supplement your child's musical journey. My children always felt energized and excited to learn more after attending recitals, violin camps, public performances, and weekly group lessons. There are so many ways to be inspired at NSS!

This has been an incredible musical journey for our family, and I would highly recommend you consider the Naperville Suzuki School for violin, viola or cello instruction. The instructors are outstanding, with advanced degrees and music education training and the Suzuki method. The philosophy is to teach the whole child - both in learning to play an instrument using proper technique, and also in learning valuable life lessons as well. We have been very happy with Ed Kreitman, the Director of the school, and our violin instructor, Ryan Caparella. Ryan has a flexible teaching style based on the needs of every child. He has pushed both of our children out of their comfort zones in healthy ways, but with empathy and understanding throughout every interaction. The needs of our two children could not be more different, and Ryan also developed a strong relationship with me and my husband to ensure an open dialogue about evolving needs as our kids have grown and matured. He was also very supportive as we made the decision after several years to discontinue instruction for our daughter as she pursued other interests. The school provides unique experiences for growth no matter where a child is in their musical journey. Children can take music improvisation classes early on, and as they become more experienced there are many opportunities for other unique performance experiences outside of private instruction, small group repertoire classes and orchestra. These include Allegro!!!, an elite string performance group, Cellissimo, a cello performance ensemble group and Chicago Consort, the most advanced performing ensemble. These groups even offer opportunities to travel and perform internationally. The school also offers a summer chamber music camp, a week-long experience to play alongside faculty, study chamber music repertoire, music theory, sight-reading and history. We've experienced notable improvement recently in the school's administration, communication and event coordination. Additionally, the school recently moved to a new location in North Naperville at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 1313 North Mill Street, Naperville, IL. 60563. Our son is now in high school, and we have seen him grow into a well-rounded, confident, accomplished musician, and the life skills he has developed over eight years is evident in many other areas of his life. I would highly recommend you check out the Naperville Suzuki School for your child's music education.

Excellent art and staff. Unfortunately, the arts center is now permanently closed to the public and…read moreis only accessible through exclusive appointments for purchasing artwork. During its open days, the art, people, and overall atmosphere were truly impeccable. Many remarkable artists and memorable events were hosted there, leaving a lasting impression. After several lead staff members departed, however, the gallery began to decline. The owner who also operates the Oak Brook Surgical Center as a practicing surgeon ultimately shifted the model and now offers viewings by appointment only. It's a real loss for the community, given the creativity, quality, and vibrancy that once defined the space! Always enjoyed visiting when in Oak Brook!

We were able to leave our fear of failure at the door, due to Rebecca and the staff at Art and Antique. Wow we were able to enjoy our time, which went very fast each week, and the improvement, despite our talent, was a treat. Rebecca was very helpful yet let us test our lack of talent. I had a blast. It was nice having a friend join in, but was comfortable and looked forward to each weeks new test. You all should try this! It is fun and a challenge. Hey bring a friend or two and do the preview and then go from there. Life is way to short not to test your self even if you are past the half way mark on the hundred year mark. Joe

This was a cute experience and the place has interesting premade crafted items for sale. I also…read morelike that you can walk in for crafts and don't have to be held to a specific class schedule. My lower score is because I came in asking for a candle making craft that is priced as $30 on their website. When I was in store the (very nice) person on staff brought me and my friend 2 candle options "sand or soda" and never explained that the sand candles were $30 but the soda were $60! That is a huge difference and one that should have been explained. I didn't make a big deal because part of the blame is on me. I should have double checked if there was a price difference. I would never have anticipated such an extreme variance in price. I don't think this activity is worth $60. I would advise others to be cautious of this price trap.
