If you want to buy a souvenir when visiting Myrtle Beach, I highly suggest this instead of tchotchkes that will mean nothing. This is something you will always remember. You pick out your frame and arrange the shells and decorations on it the way you want it, then they put a secret sand base down in another frame, and you gently set your shells exactly how you had it in the other frame. What a great idea. It was so fun watching everybody concentrate and just having a great family time. Lori helped and guide them all in the right direction. Excellent customer service. They do birthday parties, and special events. If I lived in the area, I could see us having our parties here. Highly recommend. They do take walk-ins, I would schedule an appointment since it's not a large space.

The staff was patient and had helpful suggestions. This place is great for kids and adults. I will be coming back next time I am in the area! Of note: the directions to the business seems to be wrong in yelp. They are located at: 421 Bus US-17 N Surfside Beach, SC 29575 United States

It's two miles off the highway, and you drive through a very unremarkable and plain town, although there is cheap gas!! Once off the highway, there isn't any signage to follow. But don't give up!! It's only about 2 miles away. I talked with the staff person, and this place exists because several local SC artists worked with the governor's office to create this artisans center to support and highlight local SC artists. So, it has the support of the state government. Otherwise, it probably wouldn't exist in this tiny little town. The art is located in an adorable house, and there is ample parking and in the back. As others have commented, there are more than 200 artists that have their work displayed. Prices are also reasonable. I tried to rush through the whole gallery, and it took focus. But, if you are tight on time, 30 minutes is a minimum. They also have a very clean bathroom, if you are looking for a pit stop anyway. I purchased a cutting board, pinch pot, and some hair berets. They have something for everyone, and I took a bunch of photos. I am definitely going to make this a regular stop each time that I drive by. It's one of the most impressive and compressive art stores that I have ever seen. In North Carolina she said that the "southern guild" is kinda like their sister organization, as I guess that the founders of these organizations got together and petitioned the governors' offices at the same time. This place is truly a gem, and I am so happy with my purchases. There are also other items that I didn't purchase, but at least you can see the photos of those items, too.

Lovely shop with art from very talented artists. Nice price range too- fun place to shop!read more

For the meats we had brisket, half rack of ribs, and a pulled pork sandwich. Everything was cooked to slow smoked perfection. Each plate came with two sides. We tried them all and rank them as follows: coleslaw, baked potato, green beans, baked beans, baked potato salad. For dessert we had a toffee cookie and the nana puddin. Their banana pudding was the perfect dessert to end the meal. Would definitely return to bring home a full tray of this delicious treat. I personally loved the layout of the venue. You enter and find a large open seating area, off to the right is the queue for ordering and a little trinket store. Behind the main dining room is what was possibly once a wrap around patio that is now enclosed with cute chairs for two table seating. Then behind the main building is a smaller room with a long bench table that was perfect for our larger family size. They also have an outdoor patio area that would be ideal in better weather conditions. The backyard has a pond and it was great to look out for birds and wildlife while dining. They even had binoculars at the tables along the back windows!

The Austrian and I went a little overboard, because apparently restraint has no place at a BBQ joint. We started with a smoked pork chop so enormous it was practically competing with his bubble head, then shared the BO JUNIOR--beef brisket, half a rack of ribs, pulled pork, beef sausage, and a pint of bacon-smoked beans. We also added the baked potato salad and smoked turkey because, well...we were already committed to the cause. Everything was smoky, tender, flavorful, and clearly prepared by someone who actually understands BBQ. And I have a pretty high bar when it comes to food. Then came Barbara's homemade banana pudding. Oh. My. God. Creamy homemade pudding, real bananas, and a beautiful meringue topping. This isn't the boxed pudding and Nilla Wafers I grew up with. This is banana pudding elevated to an art form. Quite honestly, it may be the best banana pudding I've ever tasted. And I have a little history with the pitmaster--I've known him as a supplier of blueberries and honey for my restaurant and as one of my best customers. So I already knew the man had good taste. Now I can officially confirm he knows how to cook. If you're anywhere near Lake City, put Slabs BBQ on your list. Come hungry. Very hungry.
