I didn't realize you could have a holiday party in an art gallery, but I guess you can. It was actually a very neat place to have it, because we could walk around and look at the art before the party. The art is for sale, as most galleries are, and of course, most of it is expensive and out of my price range. However, there was a wall with prints for $20 to benefit a charity. I thought that was neat. They also had Christmas ornaments and jewelry for sale. It's a neat place to walk through if you're in the Florence area. There's a parking lot about a block down, right across from the Central United Methodist Church.

The city is revitalizing the downtown area and this gallery seems to be one of the city staples. The gallery is very large and has a great presence from the street. Walking by you get a great view of the gallery without going in. Once you are inside the gallery, the space is large. This particular event had live music and tables. There was enough room for the bank and at least 35 tables. With the band, tables and food setup, there was still plenty of space to view all of the awesome artwork. The artwork was very nice. There were oil paintings, sketches, sculptures etc. The most memorable pice was large sculpture of a man and horse, which was about 7 or 8 feet tall. I didn't get to view all of the art due to the nature of the event. The event was more of a networking function, which kept me busy. However, I'd visit again because the artwork was beautiful and I'd like to view all of it without interruption. The curator was nice and knowledgeable about all of the work. He encouraged everyone to visit again for a more intimate experience with the art. The gallery was very easy to get to. There is plenty of street parking and a parking lot that is close to the gallery. I plan to visit again.

The first floor houses a main art gallery featuring rotating exhibits -- mostly local artists -- each launched with a meet-and-greet reception complete with complimentary refreshments. Admission to the gallery is always free. The second floor is where the space truly comes alive. A spacious, light-filled classroom and art studio shares the floor with Our Sacred Space Yoga. The yoga studio offers classes four to five days a week in a beautiful wood-floored area that genuinely earns its name -- calm, welcoming, and full of warmth that you can feel as soon as you enter the space. Beyond regular yoga sessions, visiting teachers bring special workshops like Shamanic Training, Welcoming the New Year, and Celebrating the Feminine Divine. Whether you're looking to get grounded, connect with something larger than yourself, meet some terrific people, or simply build strength and flexibility, this is the place to go! The Black Creek Arts Council goes well beyond yoga with an impressive array of educational programming for all ages. Pottery, painting, cooking, and wellness classes draw repeat visitors year after year, while rotating special offerings -- art therapy, natural cloth dyeing, multi-week intensives -- ensure there's always something new to discover. What the Black Creek Arts Council has built here is quietly remarkable: a thriving cultural hub that champions local talent, welcomes outside voices, and consistently exceeds expectations. For a small rural county, this is an extraordinary thing -- proof that a passionate, motivated community can surpass the common to become extraordinary.
