There were a lot of gaps in tree coverage. The reasons are documented in Wikipedia -- tree health, storm damage, and tourist vandalism. We were here for about 45 minutes, lingering longer so I could get some photographs; but 30 minutes might be a long visit for most people. An ultra-wide lens might be useful for one or two shots, but a normal zoom lens should be otherwise be fine. A rain sleeve would be helpful if your camera isn't water resistant. There's a small shed by the parking lot that sells Game of Thrones related merchandise, and a separate café with restrooms.

Computers available in this area too and a couple of desks to sit and read at (or sometimes colour in). Upstairs is the main library, with more computers (and there are computers for the adults downstairs too), served well by stairs and a lift. There are toilets on site, but you need to ask for a key. A Local Studies section is a great boon to folk wanting to do some research and the staff are very knowledgeable and approachable in relation to the subject. If you are in a hurry, there is a self service section downstairs where you can scan through your books without waiting for a librarian to do it.

The temple was built by Earl Bishop Hervey in the 18th century. It is now perched precariously on the cliff edge as the elements have eroded the cliff away. Apparently you used to be able to walk right round it but now it is right on the cliff edge. The National Trust have had to reinforce the cliff face to save it from falling into the sea. The views from here cannot be beaten - Portstewart/Portrush and skerries to your right and Donegal to your left. At the bottom of the cliffs is approx 10miles of golden sand. Where else would you find this beauty? It is just on my doorstep and every time I visit I am amazed by its beauty - should it be on a lovely sunny summer day or a blustery winter day! You can even get married here - really something different.

Automan Driving School is a little bit different in terms of driving schools. When I walked through…read morethe In Shops I walked past Automan but at first glance I presumed it was some sort of interactive computer games arcade but to my surprise it was a real life driving school. The representative explained that Automan was a Driving school that used driving simulators, the same as the ones pilots use in training, to build up confidence of young drivers before they go n the road. This is a unique way of teaching and Automan driving School offers special deals for on aroad and simulator lessons. They believe that the combination of simulated driving and on the road driving will be enough for you to pass your test. The location of their simulators is a bit strange, I thought they may have put them in an office where people who had paid for lessons could properly concentrate but instead they are slap bang in the middle of the In Shops and this is often busy and noisy. It did not strike me as the best place to learn how to drive, even if it is a simulator. A one hour simulator lesson costs £12 which is much cheaper than an on the road lesson, but you do not get any one to one help with an instructor. Only time will tell if this will be a hit but I think it is a pretty good way of building confidence and learning driving technique.

Visited April 2015: "Views from the cliff are incredible"…read more There is a National Trust membership you can purchase, but we weren't going to see many of the parks on this visit. We were provided with a map of the location, and we decided what we were going to see before trekking on. We were able to use The landscape was incredible and just breathtaking. We walked most of the locations from the up the hill at the Bishop's Gate to the Mausoleum, Downhill House, Mussenden Temple, and the Icehouse. At the icehouse there were 2 rangers who gave us a brief history about the Dovecote and the Icehouse. One gentleman told us that the country was given the property several years after the roof was taking off the house, and they were attempting to restore it. He went on to tell us about the pond and how they used the ice to keep the meats cold so they didn't have to utilize salt.
