We really enjoy everyone there. Our instructor is Ben. And we could not have asked for a better fit to help us feel comfortable. His teaching style is fun and he shapes how we are doing so smoothly. We have learned Hustle, Foxtrot, some country western, Waltz, meringue and I am sure I forgot a couple. I spotted a Groupon for Arthur Murray Northville & decided to give it a chance after having been so impressed with them when I saw them all dancing at a concert last summer. I was pretty nervous. I've tried dance classes from time to time over the years, & always felt completely lost by the end of an hour. They always went too fast & covered too many things at one time. On top of those negative experiences, I now have the additional challenge of living with MS. But the Arthur Murray staff is so patient & encouraging, and the whole environment is very welcoming. Each & every one of the teachers is very skilled as a dancer, but more importantly, very skilled as a teacher of dance. The Arthur Murray program is extremely methodical & systematic - literally one step at a time, with each step building on the one before. Watching the more advanced students - whether they've been there for 6 months or 6 years - is inspiring. All the teachers were very supportive & understanding of my limitations, while at the same time challenging me to do all that I can, the best that I can. Of course to sustain themselves as a business, a sales pitch is part of the program, but not in an annoying or aggressive manner, After my Groupon package, I purchased the Foundations package. The next step, as much as I'd love to continue, was out of my budget. (This is the only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars - the price seems high compared to other private lessons with which I am familiar.) But they've given me the confidence to pursue classes through community ed. I may find that the high quality of the Arthur Murray program is worth the cost & find my way back there when I can afford it. But even if that never happens, I will always credit Arthur Murray Northville with getting me launched into the world of beautiful dance. read more

I love this place! I have been dancing here for a little over a year, having 'transferred' from another Arthur Murray studio in another state when I moved here for work. Overall, I have been taking lessons for about 4 years and it has been so much fun! The staff at the Northville studio is amazing! Aside from being a group of extremely talented dancers and excellent instructors, they make you feel like part of a family whenever you walk in the door. I look forward to my lessons and especially to the Friday night Practice Parties, which provide a great opportunity to cut loose and practice what I've learned. I went to Arthur Murray in Northville four years ago to learn how to dance for my daughter's wedding. I have been dancing at Arthur Murray ever since. Arthur Murray has a great syllabus for beginner, intermediate and advanced dancers. You learn all ballroom dances in a well planned multi phased program that builds upon your previous learnings. I am sure there are other dance studios in your area, however Arthur Murray is by far the best. read more

Came here for my upcoming wedding with a groupon that included two private lessons and a group and a party. Everybody was so welcoming upon entering the studio, all smiles and handshakes. the instructor was very warm and understanding throughout the whole lesson, it was paced great and never got boring. we ended up signing up for lessons after the second private lesson so we could get a wedding dance. its an expensive hobby but very worth all of the fun and together time you get to spend with your partner. we will probably sign up for more lessons after our wedding read more
