Decided to try this place out after a friend recommended it for having tasty food. So fingers crossed this place has tasty food! Upon arrival it has so far taken about ten minutes to be given a menu.. and another ten minutes for the waiter to come back and take our order. The place is quite busy with the inside seating area full. The waitress seems run off her feet and her short and impolite service definitely leaves a sour taste in the mouth. Our drinks came out approximately 25mins later (chocolate milkshake & red Fanta type soda with mint) and about 5-10mins after that we were brought our food.. but we had to get up and go inside and ask the waitress to bring out cutlery as she had forgot to do so when she brought the food to the table. We ordered the creamy corn fritters.. they were cold and tasted as if they had been pre-made & slightly reheated in a microwave.. :( they did have quite a good amount of smoked salmon which was good.. but you couldn't taste any wasabi.. pretty bland tasting.. The French toast was also cold and was pretty much just a piece of brioche bread coated in some sugar.. definitely didn't eat more than a quarter of it.. The only good thing about this place was their wrap.. a simple bacon and salad wrap - was the only thing that wasn't left on the plate. Overall- I definitely would NOT recommend this cafe! Unfriendly staff - poor customer service - extremely long wait time for drinks and food - and the price was ridiculous (approx $85!) Will not be returning. read more

I came here because Yelp persuaded me and it was good. I hadn't been down this street in years so the shops that used to be here have changed or had a facelift. We came here for lunch and had a steak sandwich and 5 spice squid salad. Both were just under $20 but were very nice. The coffee is also good and there are some temptations in the refrigerated display but I resisted. There were plenty of people in for coffee and lunch but we didn't have to wait too long for the order to be taken and then the food to arrive. Service was friendly too. You might have to park in a side street but not too far away from the front door. read more

Finding this place was Yelp at its best!!! Tired of places I knew, the ever trusty Yelpers steered me here. Set in a small strip of shops instead of a mall is instantly attractive. And the staff are friendly and attentive. Another plus! I should confess that I'm working my way through the Breakfast Menu. Fave, so far, is Canadian French Toast. Sure, it would probably be helpful to have an appointment with your cardiologist straight after, but really ... If this was your last meal I'm confident you'd have a smile ... a sticky maple syrupy smile on your dial. Another top pick is Way Down South, a Mexican take on Eggs Benny. Sounds a bit weird but I loved the kick from the chorizo. To finish my Top 3, I'll have to put up the Ricotta Fritters. I chose to add smoked salmon. It already has avo, corn kernels, & a tomato relish. Yum. The space has a good feel. I'm still figuring out my fave spot to sit. Keep you posted! read more

Relaxing, yummy and fulfilling lunch. Came here as I had heard good things about it from a friend and was not disappointed! My fellow yelper had the burger which I had a bite of. It was delicious and you could tell that care had gone into making it. I had the lamb wrap which was equally as delicious. We polished it off with some chocolate cake. Normally I would never order cakes at cafes as they are often insipid, dry, coming from the same factory. These were not!! Homemade with the best chocolate icing I've ever had. Their lunch menu for kids is also brilliant at $8.90 and you get a juice, milkshake or frozen yoghurt included. read more

Have been here a couple times now for a late breakfast. Service is fast and friendly and the food has never disappointed. Coffee has always been great as well. There are always lots of fresh baked goods I drool over at the pay counter but haven't tried yet. I only wish they had better cutlery. One of the best cafe's in the area for sure! This place had a bad name under previous owners but I went back after hearing that there were new owners and it had improved. I've been a few times now for brekkie and its by far the best breakfast in the hills area and good value too. Servings are generous and the attention to detail is great (little sides of pesto that you don't get elsewhere!) Service at peak times can be a bit slow but I suppose that's everywhere and they have very limited outdoor seating at the moment. It looks like they're making some sort of courtyard out that back which would be great! read more

I dropped in on a lunch date with the hubby on a Friday afternoon. I was disappointed as there wasn't any seating inside so we ended up outside on a pavement that had a rickety table and chairs. In my opinion the food was average and a bit overpriced for the serving . The server was lovely. I live around he corner but will probably not return. In summary, the food and service here are awesome, however, the coffee is not. If want a good cup of coffee in the morning this is not the cafe for you. Nonetheless, if you want some good breakfast/brunch then come a long. So the food here is fantastic - if you could not tell by the above paragraph - they have a large menu and everything is good. For big plates to toasteis. And the service is super friendly. The most famous thing here is the French toast. And they have multiple versions. The only problem with this cafe is the coffee. Yes, I'm a coffee snub. But I think the coffee here is below par. Have a drink and see. One of the best value for money cafes in the area and they even make coffee that another barista doesn't mind drinking. Came here once before with previous management and didn't rate it at all but have been converted. Breakfast was decent sized servings and freshly made and served with Sonoma bread. Other cafes in the area are still hung up on Turkish bread still. Oh and the scones were fantastic. This place is definitely worth checking out! We arrived and I think it was some sort of pension day outing. It was loud and really busy but we were seen straight away by the cafe staff who were very friendly and attentive. Considering they were busy, we were seen to within ten minutes and our food was served fifteen minutes later which in my opinion is good. Recently I found out I'm allergic to tomatoes (I know every awesome food has tomatoes on/in it and it kills me to know I can't savor that lovely fruit) but anyways they are really good with modifying the menu to cater for your needs. I got the Greek lamb wrap which was bloody excellent and a side of sweet potato wedges which were amazing. My husband got the way down Mexico breakfast which looked good and he said it tasted awesome. They have a lovely display of cakes and slices to tempt you. The staff is always friendly. There are some toys and books for the kids. The coffee isn't bad and the meals are OK. The place isn't cheap, a big breakfast costs $19 and the menu isn't very varied but, with only 2 alternatives within cooee, it's bound to be a regular occurrence if you're a local. It's on par with Sol and a better than the Little Rock but you wouldn't go out of your way just to come here. read more

I have owned an espresso bar and been trained by a World Champion BARISTA so I know a little about good coffee and what's needed to accomplish this but I can say this establishment needs a lot of work to boost their ratings on the coffee they dish out. I eat here often and it's my favourite cafe for breakfast in the hills. Very reasonably priced, great quality food and always incredible service. Amazing selection of breakfast meals- the big breakfast has everything you could possibly need, I also love the French toast. Highly recommend, they also take bookings which is helpful as sometimes it can be really busy in the morning. I got hungry so I Yelped and this was at the top of the list. Absolutely delicious. Had a grilled chicken burger and the nicest sweet potato fries I've ever had. Loved the little side of aioli. Sat outside with my very young baby and pram. There was only about 3 people at the cafe in total as it was a weekday morning. After getting bub out of the pram and myself settled in - 10 minutes later was asked to move tables, pack up pram, food, bottles, bags , bub etc to make the table available for two women and two very large dogs that had just arrived. I am a dog LOVER and own a beautiful dog myself but really - requesting a parent with new baby to pack up and move to make way for the canine species is a bit much. The cafe is not great with prams, expensive and I will definitely not be going back. Did not feel welcome and the owner was insensitive. read more

Nice food and quick customer service . I've had the bacon and egg roll here and it was deliciously juicy and the egg was cooked perfectly. The French toast is also really good here. The coffee is adore estate coffee which is best with milk. read more
