Artichoke Slice and Pepperoni & Meatball Slice

Great greasy pizza after a night out. This specific location doesn't have many seats, but a lot of people get it to go and there are a lot of places to sit or squat outside. - Artichoke pizza (3/5): classic iconic slice - quite greasy and didn't feel great afterwards, but it is uniquely flavored - Meat lovers (4/5): love the pepperoni cups! I wish we had some hot oil to drizzle over, but I did find this slice to be a little on the saltier side Artichoke Pizza is a nice chain - I would recommend if you've never had it before.

Came in on a Thursday afternoon. Not busy. Workers didn't seem very happy and it was hot inside so can't blame them. 2plain 1 artichoke slice for $16. Slices were large in size. For specialty slices like the artichoke it hits the spot but would rather go to my standard (less expensive spot) for a plain.

I was craving NY pizza so bad and we decided to swing by Artichoke Basille's. They had a decent menu with both NY and sicilian pizza slices. As a Chicagoan, I love NY pizza more so I was very excited. We tried the vodka pizza NY style and the garlic knots. The prices were really cheap but the food was top tier. I loved the crust, slightly crunchy, slightly soft, the slice being big enough to fold the pizza and eat, and the dough is not too heavy too, it's light on your stomach. If I could eat here everyday, I would. The ambience is very laid back but please go here only for the food! You will not be disappointed.

I don't know why this brand gets so much flak. I've been eating their slices since 2010. Allow me to be frank. A humble 34 year old genius who developed a series of shit habits prepares for sober January and sober February. Going out in style involved 3 meatballs in vodka sawce and this fuckin delicious member in the photos with a pepperoni roll because it pairs well with 3 joints and several tequila explosions on a Friday night. Just the right amount of basil on the pie, very thin crispy crust, and a such a sweet red base. Crushed it all like the champion I am, delivered by a foreigner on a bicycle in 20 degree weather. Fvck yes I'll pay 65$ for that experience. I didn't leave the house and stayed in my underwear for basically 3 days. Fvck yeah Artichoke. Thank you.

I stopped by the other night to grab a slice with my girlfriend. It's small inside and take out only but they do have a small counter by the front window to enjoy your pizza yet it it only has maybe 4-5 barstools that I can remember. Weirdly enough I hadn't tried this place yet even though I've been by it several times in NYC and Hoboken. I've always heard great things about it and they were not lies either. We walked in but a vagrant ran back in behind us and begged us to buy him a slice after we saw him begging the woman who got a slice before us but we paid him no attention because that is Jersey City for ya. So we ordered an artichoke slice to share, but I waited for the vagrant to leave before I left my girlfriend behind to head next door to the bar to use the their restroom while they were heating up the slice for us. When I came back she already had it cut into two pieces and doctored up like she always does which made it even that much better. That crust and crunch was superb! The flavor complexity was off the charts. I'll say that this pizza is very good, but it wasn't fresh and I can tell it had been sitting for a good while even though it was heated up. I can only imagine how good it is fresh and I'll find out soon enough. The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is because of the pizza not being fresh. This slice still gets an 8.5 See you again soon :P

Came here for a quick bit before an appt. The place was empty when we got there and was attended yo right away. I ordered the margarita slice and my partner order the deep cheese. The place is small but quaint to see and people watch while you eat. The slice was very fulfilling to me and we enjoyed it very much! Recommend if you are in the area!

My friend and I were heading home after the bar, and of course, we needed to feed the liquor. So we walked around for a bit. There is this one pizza spot near the bar we go to, but never get their pizza because it truly is giving government cheese, and I stay away from that madness. I remembered that Artichoke was nearby, and was hoping that it wasn't closed yet because it was pretty late. Thankfully, they were open and we stopped by. They still had quite a few options left for it to had been so late, which was perfect. I ended up getting a pepperoni slice, which was juuuust right (in my Goldie Locs voice). It wasn't giving government cheese at all, but I knew this because I had been to Artichoke before in Astoria. My friend however, hadn't been before, and so he was pleasantly surprised that it was actual pizza of quality. He enjoyed his slice as well. It hit the spot. Perfect for all your hangover needs lol. Or, you know, if you just crave some good pizza! It also had cute decor, good music, and the woman who took our orders and served us was nice. We'll be back for sure!

Came here for a quick slice. Small spot with about 5 seats with a counter by the window. Tried the famous artichoke slice and it was tasty but definitely very heavy and creamy. One slice of the artichoke should be good for most people given its big size and how rich it is. We also tried the margarita slice which was thin, crispy, and good. They are conveniently open very late (4AM).

Good late night spot for some good crunchy crust pizza. Tiny space, but we were lucky to snag one of the limited seats by the window. There was a line, but it moved pretty quick. The workers did a good job putting out pizzas and making more for all the hungry post bar guests. The slices were a decent size and not too greasy.

Ordered a delivery of pizza We got Margherita Pie and Vodka Sicilian Pie- both were tasty! I find the price point a little high. As part of some offer with Uber eats we got Garlic knots free

No frills! And there's no seating. This is more of a late night spot after a night of drinking and you just need something cheap and fast. The slice was $7 but it was huge. It's a chain and sadly I think the quality has gone down hill. It was not even warm, but I heated it up when I got home and it tasted much better.

The menu is pizzeria standard: slices, pies, hot and cold subs. Not wanting to wait for a fresh pie, I snagged a slice of plain Chewy crust, slightly sweet cause, easy on the grease and priced right at $2.50

If you knew me, I always considered pizza as a separate food group aka the sixth main food group! Established in 1982, this small family-owned cash-only restaurant has been a beloved neighborhood staple known for its authentic Italian pizza along with other Italian dishes and a cozy and family-friendly atmosphere. With a glut of pizza joints, how would this pizzeria from Larry and Joe compare to others I've tried in the neighborhood!? PURCHASE [ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 3.5 of 5.0 STARS] Onion Rings ($5.00): A large container filled with oddly similarly-sized rings, these were hot, medium-browned, semi-crunchy, and didn't have a tendency to crumble when bitten into while the onion ring (not sweet Maui) stayed intact. They were slightly oily, no dipping sauce given, and surprisingly good. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=48&select=Fo3zPbAgICQdKvznZJsvGA Mozzarella Sticks 6pc ($7.00): Simple finger-sized medium-browned cheese sticks with homemade marinara dipping sauce, we enjoyed them but nothing special to report. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=XdrF2nAAywvu13PpkK4mIQ Eggplant Parmigiana Sandwich ($10.00): If you knew me, this was my go-to Italian sandwich, and it didn't disappoint. Filled with plenty of thin but meaty slices of breaded eggplant, marinara sauce, and gooey mozzarella cheese crammed between a lightly-toasted bun, this was a hearty meal that stuck to your ribs - oof! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=8R68F6zBwAxy4vcpvi8wzw Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich ($10.00): My friend opted for this lightly-toasted bun stuffed with many thin but meaty slices of breaded chicken, marinara sauce, and gooey mozzarella cheese, it was good but not better than the eggplant! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=p7slICln5ZVWgsqatlY8WQ 18" 8pc Broccoli Pizza + Mushrooms ($19.00 + $3.00): Still in the throes of no-meat during Lent, we chose this interesting option with an additional topping for more flavor. This was a massive pizza with a ton of fresh toppings, mozzarella cheese, and tomato sauce with an incredibly crispy yet soft crust. This was simply an impressive pie, indeed! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=-5ich-E3lcSWgrzXYPVisA SERVICE I called ahead and placed my order with a friendly gentleman whose name I couldn't recall. I was told it would be ready within 45 minutes which was fine. I arrived a bit early to a very busy pizzeria, to which I waited an extra 15 minutes before my order was done and packed up. No worries, as I watched TV and simply observed the "mayhem" in this place. I wasn't in a hurry, so all was good - grazie! PARKING (Street; N/A this instance) This was an easy flat 20-minute walk from my friend's place. Otherwise, there appeared to be plenty of spots (no known private lot) along the main drag of Newark Ave. and all surrounding roads - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A simple interior layout https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=48&select=YA57QUy6J9z38Y_Kkkay_A with a tidy dining area of booths and a couple of small tables, a bar table along one wall, and the order counter that looked into the kitchen at the back. Several framed pictures of family members adorned a brick wall while the menu https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=4AsL8gHDPNd5MobPtL3MyA was posted on another wall. Plenty of natural lighting came through the front window and door while soul-sucking fluorescent electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There was one TV (volume on) while there wasn't any background music. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=48&select=4WAmbzYptvChB1edodHcSQ ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Larry & Joe's Pizzeria was an incredible example of a close-knit family eatery that was lovingly supported by the neighborhood and vice versa, which gave me the warm-and-fuzzies. From tasty food, large portions, reasonable prices, good menu selection, and wonderful service, this place hit all of the feels. And, I always loved supporting small businesses whenever possible. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $54.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). Sadly, they were CASH ONLY (my only knock), so no AMEX! 4.0 STARS
