I have had many therapists over the years and Jodi is one of the best. She tells it like it is, no babying, but manages to be compassionate at the same time. She is who she is with no apologies---I love that! Jodi also doesn't bat an eyelash at anything I tell her, no matter what it is. She's not uncomfortable with my bipolar diagnosis and we have talked about alternative therapies as well as standard pharmacological treatments. (I see a psychiatrist for rx management.) I'm a health care professional with an advanced degree. In the past, I've have had other therapists who just can't get past my credentials and the counseling sessions have been useless. I am just starting with EMDR, starting out with rhythmic tapping, but so far it seems like it has potential. I see Jodi in person, which is nice after COVID. Office is easy to find and a welcoming space. If you want to be serious about addressing your shit, I highly recommend this strong, beautiful lady! read more

Hello, I am the owner of Artichoke Heart Counseling. Please keep in mind that I, along with all other mental health professionals all over the country, have a "No Show / Late Cancellation" policy. During times of COVID, I have been gracious in extending this policy because I want to keep everyone safe. However, when clients *repeatedly* cancel at the last minute because they couldn't make arrangements to arrive, I tell them, according to my attendance-no show-late cancellation policy that I can no longer book any more appointments. Boundary setting is an important practice to teach in counseling. Us therapists have to practice boundaries too. I make a lot of terrific changes for people and bend over backwards. read more

When i first walked into Jodi's office, I felt more comfortable than I had in previous offices. She is very inviting and calm, and genuinely cares about my progress and my well-being. I have anxiety and depression, and she has taught me many ways to cope, including tapping. My last therapist did not give me resources or tools to deal with my A&D, and constantly fell asleep while i talked. Jodi is incredibly considerate and does not fall asleep. She stays engaged.
