I honestly hate writing bad reviews unless I really don't like something. After a lot of positive reviews from friends, I was excited to check out Lyan's awesome work. I was super excited and it was also my first time so I was so amped to finally see what all the hype was about. I scheduled a day with Lyan for a 5:30 appointment. On the day of, she messaged me saying she couldn't make the appointment anymore and had to push it back. I was a little irked, but I know that sometimes mistakes in scheduling happen. Anyways, I arrived at 7:00 and found out that she had scheduled another appointment before me when a girl walked out at 7:10 (probably a last minute one). Again, a little irked, but I kind of just let it go. Lyan had me sign a consent form and talked through different lash styles. I was more than happy to get started. I had no complaints about how she explained everything. During the lash experience, my eyes stung a good amount but she said it was normal and that it was just the fumes. After two hours, she finished my volume set and I was pleased with the results. I stepped out and figured everything would be fine. However two days after, my eyes burned whenever I got water in them. A week after, my eyes still burned whenever they got wet. I messaged Lyan and she told me that maybe it was the water getting in my eyes that caused it to burn. Three weeks later and even though they still look pretty good, they STILL burn whenever my eyes water or when water gets in my eyes. I can't even fully wash them without crying a bucket of tears. I've tried to get in contact with Lyan but she told me that she's away on vacation so I was not able to see her until she was back. Also, she said she'd set up a date for us to meet but hasn't gotten back to me about it. Also, she told me that since she was gone, she'd fill in extra lashes so I didn't need to go back to a complimentary check in even though it was included in the price. After speaking to a lot of my friends, they said it wasn't normal for my eyes to hurt. They told me that it could be she rushed through it and put too much glue on my eyes. Also, they mentioned she should have done a patch test before to see if I had any reaction to the glue. I can't do anything at this point but go to a different salon to get them removed. It makes me sad that my first experience with lashes put me off of them. Maybe I'll try a different place and research more. Sad to see them go, but the pain just isn't worth it anymore. read more

I've been going to Lyan for over 3 years now and she is always so professional, accommodating, and makes my lashes look bomb. I first came to her after going to a beauty/nail salon to get my lashes done - my lashes were completely botched and she helped me remove and replace the extensions properly with quality glue. I can't say enough about this cute little place! Lynn took care of my lashes. She asked what I was looking for and did just that. My two condition were for it to be full and as close to my lashes as she can get because I've had lash artist that basically fill them half way out my lashes and what's the point of paying for lashes that look like they are two weeks old already. Coming from LA, i always was able to get my lashes done amazingly for a reasonable price. Moving to Boston, everything seemed to be so much more expensive. I used to get my fills over on Newbury and it was much more expensive so I decided to yelp out of the city center for other places. That being said, I am SOOOO glad I found Lyan. She definitely is as amazing as the person who does my lashes in LA, probably even better. My lashes are always AMAZING and after 2-3 weeks they're still amazing. And she's soooo sweet!!! I have tried a variety of lash studios in and around the Boston area and Art Beauty Lounge is by far my favorite. The owner Lyan is extremely attentive and her attention to detail leaves you feeling beautiful and confident after every visit. The studio is clean and most importantly sanitary. The tools are sanitized after each use and the products (glue and lashes) do not irritate my eyes. I prefer the volumizing lashes because they make my eyes "pop". Being Asian my lashes are delicate and fine so the volume lashes create the illusion I have more lashes than I really do. Lyan is extremely accommodating when it comes to appointments. She always gives me exactly what I want, and the best part is that you can completely customize your lashes. I love the natural look (and no one can tell they're fake!) but once in a while I've had more full lashes and the volume is just beautiful for a special occasion or for when you just want a more dramatic look. Lyan is AMAZING! She is such an expert. I have had other people do my lashes before but no one does them as great as Lyan. She takes the time to ask you what style you are looking for, if you are prepping for an event, what length you want, you name it - she will ask you. She takes the time to really listen to her client and make sure she gets it right. She wants the client to feel relaxed and happy with the results and I can say she always accomplishes both. She is delightful to talk to and if you want to just lay there and relax she welcomes it (and she has great music in the background too). Once you are done she checks to make sure you love your lashes - which I always do - reminds you of how to take care of them, gives you wands for at home care, and offers the client to text her if they need anything. When it comes to customer service she is on point. Lastly, every time I get my lashes done by Lyan they last weeks. She is absolutely fantastic and worth trying out, once you do, you won't want to go anywhere else. I have been her client for almost two years now and I can say that finding Lyan to do my lashes has been a blessing.
