The Amherst Railway Society Railroad Hobby Show, or "Springfield Train Show" as we all call it, is…read morethe largest train show in the United States. Per their recent brochure, it is over ten acres of exhibits all based on railroads of some sort spread out in four buildings at the "Big E" Exposition center. You will find dozens of model train layouts in all scales; hundreds of tables of vendors selling books, magazines, model trains, real train memorabilia, food, toys, clothing, and anything else related to trains; railroad museum displays; railroad safety exhibits; vendors and train manufacturers showing new models; modeling clinics; and anything else you can thing of. There are special things set up for the kids, like clowns and singing and balloons and face painting. It is a sensory overload of anything having to do with trains. To try and see it all in a day is impossible, even for the best trained (see what I did there) visitor. I have been going for 15 years and even if I rush I still miss stuff. Before Ebay, it was the best place to find old trains. Now, it is still a great place to get a good deal on old trains. Coming here is the highlight of my year!

I got the burger and it was fine, only cooked the way I asked on half the burger. Other was pork Mac & cheese with bbq sauce, very good, like the flavor of it. Don't try the buffalo chicken Mac & cheese. The last plate was hot honey chicken sandwich. The bread just fell off the meat. Don't like that. Our server was very slow and didn't come over often. My son's beer sat at the bar for 15 minutes finally he walked over to get it but the bartender said she would bring it over. Next time will have her wait on us. It's a decent place right of a golf course.

I attended my friend's wedding at Hardwick Crossing on August 29, 2025, and it was honestly one of…read morethe most disappointing and chaotic events I've ever witnessed -- through no fault of the couple. From the very start, communication from the venue was nearly nonexistent. The couple was promised coordination and support from staff who either didn't show up or ignored repeated requests for contact. On the day itself, there was no clear direction, no leadership, and constant confusion. The bridal suite sink was clogged, the groomsmen's room had no A/C for hours, and food that was supposed to be provided while getting ready never arrived. Guests had to hunt down staff all day because management -- particularly Tracy and Courtney -- were frequently nowhere to be found. When rain began, there was no backup plan even though the venue had been aware of the forecast. Elderly guests were left standing in the downpour, and the couple had to move tables themselves because staff refused. Dinner was severely undercooked, with many guests unable to eat, and a guest with life-threatening food allergies was still served foods that could have triggered anaphylaxis -- despite the venue being clearly warned and given detailed instructions. To top it off, staff members left early without checking on the bride and groom or ensuring things were wrapped up properly. For a venue that charges for full wedding coordination, this was absolutely unacceptable. I tried to share my experience and was blocked by their Facebook page, which says a lot about how they handle feedback. If you're considering booking Hardwick Crossing, please reconsider. No couple deserves this kind of stress, neglect, or danger on their wedding day.
