I looked at various options (e.g. basement French drain). I eventually came across Marvin at Total Maintenance Pro via Google Reviews (they hold impressive ratings) to ask for an opinion. He came out and assessed the situation and came up with a plan. He even went to the township to chase down folks to get preliminary approval without a penny up front. I didn't know he was going to do this - and appreciated his diligence. His estimate was reasonable for the work effort (and 1/3 the cost of a basement French drain). When it came time to perform the work, a team of 10 showed up with heavy equipment. They explained the process and what we should expect. They finished on time as planned. The workmanship is impressive. I'm confident that their solution will keep water out of our backyard AND from entering our basement. In summary - amazing team of professionals who know what they are doing. The work was immaculately done and we absolutely LOVE the end result/solution they put in place. We live on a decent size lot, an acre, and the yard and beds, shrubs, etc., had not been maintained for a long time, prior owner made some bad selections, etc. So, this was a big job. Removed 10 ENORMOUS shrubs, installed dozens of new plants/trees, huge spring clean up, installed 21 cubic yards of mulch, weed preventative, created overall landscape design, relocated some existing shrubs, used existing field stones to create perimeter for beds. Plus, willing to go extra mile to do extras that I did not expect, like removing tree limbs that needed removal either because of pre-existing damage or for health of tree.
