Tea houses abound off Calle Elvira in Granada. As Sirat represents them well. Think Moorish titles, little booths tucked under colorful lanterns, and sheesha being smoked by locals and foreigners alike. We popped in here for a taste of Moroccan tagine. A set menu at 8.50 euros provided a choice of appetizer, a main dish and tea. I opted for the hummus and a chicken tagine. The hummus was milder than what I've encountered in the USA but freshly prepared and served with a thick pita bread. The tagine's veggies were very overdone but the flavor made up for the softness of the beans and potatoes. Staff was friendly and unobtrusive. Like other restaurants in Spain, they'll let you eat in peace but you'll have to flag them down for service or the bill. The tea was mint, sticky with sweetness. I like my tea without sugar so it was a little overwhelming but fairly typical for a Moroccan cupa! Check this place out if you're hungry and ready to escape the hawkers with their trinkets outside the front door. It's a North African oasis in Spain!

The place is nice and well decorated with classic Moroccan theme. It is a family business and they are very friendly. We ordered the food, dish of the day and starters, It took more than 30 minutes to get the starters, the soup. It tasted ok. Then we had the main dish which was Tajeen. The potions are small to medium size. The service is slow and I kept hearing the microwave with each order before serving. Some people won't mind the microwave, but I do. Especially when I decide to eat something traditional.

4* for decor 4* for tea selection and their cafe con leche 3* for their basmati rice with chicken It's a lovely almost hidden find just down the steps from san nicolas cathedral. There is a menu just for their tea selection. Their decor with the tiles and carving is like the Nasrid palaces with tea service. By the way, if you have room for dessert, the fig biscuit is a must try.

NOTE: the sign above the door says Teteria Assirat. Picture included below. It was a little difficult to find. Great little Moroccan restaurant and tea house. The service was good, seems to be run by a husband/wife team. The husband speaks English if you need it. We had the albondigas and lemon chicken, both were great!

I ordered the house mint lemonade- which was heavenly, so surprisingly sweet and refreshing (I am now addicted).

It's the equivalent of your go-to college burrito place. When we went, the guy behind the counter was nice. Good English skills, which was a plus. I got a kebab with chicken and beef. I was dismayed to see the dude using his bare hands to flip it on the griddle. (Y'all got a spatula or something? That's going in my mouth.) The chicken and the beef were not great. They tasted dry. The picante sauce he threw on there resurrected the flavor a bit. I was also bummed when my fiancee ordered something with falafel and he threw the ball in the microwave. That's what you're getting, folks. Microwaved and bare-hand manipulated food. That said, it was not the worst thing I've ever put in my mouth. Because so many places in Granada shut down around midnight, you should keep Kebab King in your back pocket for an emergency, but this should not be your first option.

Watch the flames come off the wok and be served noodles piping hot! Although not an authentic Thai experience, it's a close imitation that will fill your desire for decent Thai food. Ekkamai Noodles: very saucy and flavorful. There were crunchy onions on top which are AMAZING. It was the perfect texture complement to the soft noodles and sauce. The shrimp and chicken combo was delicious, and with so many colorful vegetables inside, it was beautiful just to look at. Ensalada with chicken, mango, assorted vegetables with peanut sauce dressing: I LOVED the black sesame as garnish. It added the perfect Asian flavor to the salad. The peanut sauce tasted a little weird, and the fact that it came in a plastic container that was microwaved in front of me didn't do much to inspire confidence.

It's like a deep fried ball of gravy-shredded chicken breast, not whole chunks. I got the salad roquefort, which is a mixed salad with blue cheese dressing and not even cheese crumbles! They are determined to make the most money they can off tourists without providing an authentic culinary experience. 1. The waiter drew us in with promises of 100% halal food. Once ordering we found out in fine print that only 3 items on the menu are halal. 2. Everything is overpriced. A thin layer of paella that is watery, tasteless, and had artificial calamari cost 15 Euros. I left feeling hungry and cheated. A good rule of thumb: if a restaurant advertises paella with the same stock photos as the other places around it, you can be sure it's going to be junk. 3. I'm only giving two stars because the "Eggplant with Honey" tapa was tasty and the "Falafel" was the creamiest I've ever had. BUT the hummus tasted really bad, overpowered with oil and tajin, and the papas fritas was lame.
