Had the 12,50€ dinner that included appetizer, main and Morrocan mint tea with dessert. Daughter split with me and also had a milkshake. Falafel was spot on being moist and flavorful. Second course of chicken tagine had vegetables but no couscous. Veggies were a bit over cooked but chicken was falling off the bone. Mint tea was fresh and sweet. Loved the ambiance and the music! Discovered a couple of new artists that went straight into my Spotify playlist. You get a view of the pedestrian walkway below. As Sirat opened my eyes to the wonderful world of Moroccan sweets, and all of the complex spices, aromas, tastes and textures that are unlike anything I have ever experienced before. I ordered the house mint lemonade- which was heavenly, so surprisingly sweet and refreshing (I am now addicted). We also ordered a small platter of assorted Moroccan pastries. These were delicate and crispy, drizzled with honey and garnished with whole almonds, filled with nuts and cinnamon and spices, in such different shapes and varieties. This was a pretty cool place. It was like a Moroccan tea lounge where the interior looked beautiful and have a very Moorish look to it. They served a wide variety of different teas and flavors, from fruity tastes, to more traditional ones, there was something for everyone. I ended up getting what I think was called A night at the Alhambra or something like that. It was super fruity, and they served it made hot in a teapot, but you would pour it over a large cube of ice to make iced tea. The scent and flavor was amazing, it was richly floral and fruity and I enjoyed sipping and smelling it the whole time. The tea came out really hot too, so I was quite surprised at how quickly it cooled with the large ice cubes. Overall a really nice place to just relax and chill out and talk. The street it was on was really quaint too, worth checking out and looking around if you're down there. read more

Tea houses abound off Calle Elvira in Granada. As Sirat represents them well. Think Moorish titles, little booths tucked under colorful lanterns, and sheesha being smoked by locals and foreigners alike. We popped in here for a taste of Moroccan tagine. A set menu at 8.50 euros provided a choice of appetizer, a main dish and tea. I opted for the hummus and a chicken tagine. The hummus was milder than what I've encountered in the USA but freshly prepared and served with a thick pita bread. The tagine's veggies were very overdone but the flavor made up for the softness of the beans and potatoes. Staff was friendly and unobtrusive. Like other restaurants in Spain, they'll let you eat in peace but you'll have to flag them down for service or the bill. The tea was mint, sticky with sweetness. I like my tea without sugar so it was a little overwhelming but fairly typical for a Moroccan cupa! Check this place out if you're hungry and ready to escape the hawkers with their trinkets outside the front door. It's a North African oasis in Spain! read more

Stopped here one cold evening when I was craving Moroccan mint tea. This place has good reviews as a tea house but we were disappointed. It is more like a sheesha(hookah) cafe and it was empty when we stopped here late evening. the place was really dark and smokey and we were seated in a very dark corner. I just wanted mint tea and it took them 15-20 minutes to prepare it. The mint in the tea was dried mint and not fresh and the tea leaves were left in the water so after pouring1 glass, the tea became very strong and bitter and there was no way for us to remove the tea leaves. The sign outside clearly said 5 euros for 2 tea, but when we went to pay, the lady charged us 6 euros. We pointed out to the sign and she just said 'Ok, you pay 5 euros'. It seemed like they wanted to cheat customers by overcharging. This tea was nowhere as good as the fresh mint leaves in La Mancha Chica. read more

The place is nice and well decorated with classic Moroccan theme. It is a family business and they are very friendly. We ordered the food, dish of the day and starters, It took more than 30 minutes to get the starters, the soup. It tasted ok. Then we had the main dish which was Tajeen. The potions are small to medium size. The service is slow and I kept hearing the microwave with each order before serving. Some people won't mind the microwave, but I do. There is a menu just for their tea selection. Their decor with the tiles and carving is like the Nasrid palaces with tea service. By the way, if you have room for dessert, the fig biscuit is a must try. read more

Located in the middle of a street that has been transformed into a crowded souk with fun shopping [be prepared to bargain, it'll save you money and many of the shopkeepers appreciate the challenge] it's a nice place to sit and an excellent eatery, especially for the prices. We had a plethora of salads and shawarma, and nibbly things all of which were good, but the dishes that particularly stood out were the bisara [a fava bean soup], the couscous, and the flaky briwat. read more

Really enjoyed stopping here for tea and dessert (they also have reasonably priced hookah!). It's a nice, friendly and hospitable place amidst an area rich with Moroccan and Arab restaurants and stores. Their teas are very nice, and their version of mint-lemonade (a Moroccan beverage, the exact name I do not know) was absolutely delicious and refreshing. I do not know if if it is made like this elsewhere but here it is served as a blended ice drink. Amazing. Their pastries (we had baklava and a fried dough treat) were rich and fresh. The staff were also very friendly. Service was a tad slow but I think that is common in a relaxed place like this. It was a great atmosphere to unwind after tapas in the busier/louder restaurants closer to the center. Hope to return for dinner sometime! read more

The waiter was very friendly and gave us a history of each dish we asked about although there aren't many items on the menu everything we ordered was seasoned so well and was so delicious. The Tajines with chicken and vegetables was the most flavorful and best meal I've had in Granada which is saying alot with all of the local choices around. My gf wasn't hungry but kept attacking my meals because it was so delish. The place also was very interesting because it is a one story restaurant with a baby staircase to a "second" floor that gave it a distinct personality that added to the atmosphere. read more

We ordered Lamb tajine with almonds and plums and they served beef tagine with vegetables. When we said that this is not what we ordered, first the waiter said it is the same thing. When we said, we do not see almonds or plums, he said they ran out of them. Then we argued, this meat does not taste like lamb, eventually he conceded it's not what we ordered. I tried to use the restroom and there was not even soap or tissue paper. Horrible place. There are quite a few other options on the same street worth trying. P.s WiFi password was also wrong. If you can stomach the tacky street this lovely tea house is located on, your perseverance will be rewarded at As Sirat. Intimate tea house, very friendly wait staff, great pastries and delicious tea. As Sirat milk tea + almond pastry was delicious. The address of this place is conflicting online. It's not actually #4 (which is Kasbah).. but it's still on calle caldereria nueva up the street a little bit on the left. There are a number of competing tea houses on this street, so look for the painted letters are above the door. read more

Absolutely not. The servers are rude and barely wanted to take the order. I kept having to get up to see if they would come to the table. They were too busy smoking hookah. I ordered harira and they brought me a completely different soup with chickpeas and after I asked him where the meat was he said oh we don't have anymore. Why didn't he tell me that before he tried to trick me? Anyway my next course came out and I ordered a side of rice to go with it and it took almost 20 min to get it out even though they just microwaved everything. Honestly going here ruined my first night back in granada. I'm warning you to stay away. read more

Authentic doesn't always mean eating free fried fish with your glass of wine in Granada. Sometimes authentic means having a lovely meal served by a sweet woman in an empty restaurant who really cares about your food and experience. The search for this tea house/restaurant is definitely worth it. We sat on traditional low chairs and sipped mint tea. Next we had basmati rice with chicken then traditional sweets. Like little Morocco. Small and cosy, wonderful service. Each dish of food was a delight, and freshly made by the small family running the business. The tea was great, as was the lemon+mint drink we had as an apperitive. Don't miss this place! read more
