Having not been to the port city of Malaga I had to rely a lot on reviews for dining choices and Google not Yelp had more reviews, this had none. A coworker also suggested it as a choice she wanted to eat a dinner while we were here for Seatrade Med in Malaga.
Reservations were on their website and I had to do several adjustments to it because of others arriving late due to flights. We walked from our hotel and it may be only street parking is available if you have a car. You can't tell much from the outside but after you enter you will be amazed at the wonderful interior. We were lead to our table and past several examples of aging meats served here. The menu is in Spanish but English translation also below the items and the staff mostly spoke English if you don't speak Spanish including our server who was a very friendly young woman who was patient with the different choices voiced by our group.
We ordered some local red wine and started with a platter of aged cheeses of different types that were each fantastic and I could have been happy with those. Everyone had eaten lunch except me so I also got a small order of anchovies and tomatoes, the massive tomatoes were fresh and the anchovies not overwhelming salty.
I ordered the ribeye and a baked potato which in Europe doesn't come wrapped in foil and with sour cream. Overall the meat was good, but slightly chewy and others agreed who got a similar cut of meat. It was good, but not great although not hugely expensive either. In summary I still would rate it a five star experience. read more
