I answered the door and politely asked the guy to put on shoe coverings. I offered my own disposable shoe coverings. He said he would take off his shoes instead. He did not. We had a unit installed 8 years ago by Hassler. The AC unit stopped working a couple weeks ago. After 3 visits (no joke) by Hassler, it was determined we needed a new compressor for $2,623. YIKES. I contacted ASAP (Curtis) for a second opinion. He showed up the next day and discovered: 1. Unit was miswired 2. Unit did not need a new compressor 3. Unit did not need the $400 part Hassler installed their first attempt to fix it. We had tried 5 - 10 heating and air conditioning companies until our realtor recommended ASAP. The other companies had quotes between $11k and $25k. The first company came out and basically said the job couldn't be done because they no longer made one of the units in the right size. The second company started work and destroyed the condenser, then stopped without installing the indoor component. Several weeks later I contacted our realtor, who referred us to ASAP. ASAP came out on Tuesday (the next day,) installed the new outdoor condenser on Wednesday, pointing out that the existing indoor unit worked fine and didn't need replacement. Our air conditioning and heating worked fine that afternoon AND they charged us just $5k - ONE HALF to ONE FIFTH of the quotes by the other companies. Another update: heatpump plus electric car charging kept causing the breaker to trip. Curtis had told me when installed that this could happen but the install was simpler without running the new romex ... if it didn't work out then just call him so he could sort it even if that meant running new thicker gauge wiring to the main breaker. Well, called this morning after the breaker tripped and could go back in ... Curtis was here less than an hour later (on a Saturday!) and went to get the right replacement breaker so we have heat! No one goes that fast, ASAP for real. Hopefully this is the end of the hassles and no need to run the thicker wiring through the attic. Our AC recently went bad in the midst of one of the heat waves. I've contacted a few companies and ASAP H & C was one of the few who agreed to provide free diagnostics. Scheduling was fairly easy, and Curtis & team were able to replace a bad capacitor and get the AC up and running again within 24 hours of us first contacting them. Good value as well. Of course, the furnace only ever breaks down when it's freezing cold. We had an old furnace completely quit on us, and Curtis was able to come out on short notice to take a look. He managed to get me the quote--and a good quote it was--despite his very long 14-hour work day, and had our furnace replaced two days later. He provides free onsite estimates, and his quote was about 2/3 compared to another local HVAC company. The icing on the cake was when we found out that the new furnace is a bit deeper than the old one. The new furnace sticks out further from the wall, which prevented us from closing an adjacent door. Its seven years later after a dual 93% efficient furnace installation with AC and a water heater relocation and replacements in a 2,600 sq ft home and we couldn't be happier with our installation, the product, and our service from ASAP and Curtis.
