Ok, My son went to Aspen with many needed dental issues. After full exam and many x rays the…read moretreatment plan was presented. $6800 for the work needed. We paid up front, big mistake don't do that. Several of the crowns required root canal after they were placed. I know that is not always known but this happened with every one of the 4 crowns they performed. This cost an additional $4400 to redo all 4 crowns with root canal and all new crown now have a hole drilled in them. Finally, son goes in to have last 2 crowns completed and Aspen says he now owes additional $950. I pay that because they sent him away until it was paid holding the crowns hostage. He went today and they told him he owes another $150 before they will place the last 2 crowns. Avoid Aspen at all costs. No real deal, shabby work. A real dentist wont cost this mich.

I was very concerned about finding a good dentist to re-cement the veneer because I didn't want it to be damaged or destroyed by someone that wasn't experienced in working with veneers. My previous career was in dentistry so I know the good from the bad. Knowing what I know about dentistry is also my reason for concern about finding a skilled dentist in a resort area. Luckily, Branson has a lot of entertainers that apparently attract some dentists with skills in cosmetic dentistry. Therefore, my lucky day! Dr. Willard's staff was great. They set an appointment for early the next morning and I received good quality care by a professional staff. The office was nice and clean with modern equipment. The amount I paid was about the same as I would have paid with my regular dentist at home. If I lived in the area this would be my new dentist. Should I ever have another dental emergency while in the area, I now have total confidence in this practice. Many thanks to Dr. Willard and his staff. So when we moved to NW Arkansas, I did just that. One of only a couple of highly recommended dentists was Dr. K. During our first visit, I was blown away with his thoroughness. He then talked about his philosophy of dental care. Really pleased! Then I had the corner of a tooth break off. He got me in, evaluated the situation, then made a 3/4 crown (I think). There is one tell-tale sign of a great dentist: all his staff - from reception to dental assistants - are treated as valued colleagues and not just as the ​hired help. Dr. Olson went over some different options, gave me the pros/cons of each, and provided a very cost-effective option for me with no pressure to go with one option over the others. Since then, one of my kids needed to get an (orthodontic) expander, and another now has braces. They both love going to the dentist/orthodontist since it's a great experience for kids too: They have some fun activities for the kids while they're waiting for their appointment.

He is one of a kind dentist and ahead of his time with his knowledge and technique. It is awesome we have such a dentist in this area! I wasn't feeling particularly anxious, but I was told it was free, so I agreed. I was quickly given paperwork to sign, which I did willingly, though I should have taken more time to read it. What was not explained to me verbally was that this involved an injection in my neck. When I realized that, I froze but went along with it. After the injection, I was told the doctor is writing a paper on this procedure and was then asked whether it helped my anxiety, which immediately made me uncomfortable and made me feel like a test subject rather than a patient. Later, when reviewing the consent, I saw listed risks such as temporary phrenic nerve blockage and infection, risks that were never clearly explained beforehand. Instead, it was described very casually as "feeling like having a mimosa." When I called with concerns, the staff were kind and understanding, but I was told I would know if something went wrong because I'd have extreme difficulty breathing. I wish that risk had been communicated before the procedure, not AFTER. The staff were friendly overall and there were no complications, but the lack of transparency and how casually this was presented felt unethical to me as a patient. While I did sign the paperwork and take responsibility for that, clearer verbal communication and informed consent would have made a huge difference.
