The words Amazing, Stupendous, and Spectacular just do not do this site justice. In my opinion, this site ranks along with Hoover Dam for the sheer size and impact this project had upon the regional population. Envision a 1350 ton ship being lifted approximately 75 meters (225 feet) straight up into the air.... tremendous achievement. Pluses, there are a couple of other activities available besides the history of the lift. Well worth coming to see. If you're lucky you will be able to watch a barge being lifted. Also the view from the 8th level cafe windows is amazing. We spent 3 hrs here, and could have done more if we did the boat or train tour as well. read more
