Nice large open high ceilings gives a great ambiance, lots of tables & a small bar area at the back where I sat as a single around 9:30am on a weekday. It was pretty full but not packed & the staff were prompt to greet me & offer me to sit anywhere. I came for a cafe mocha, which was delicious & almost 16oz. as well as the Migas breakfast plate which was a decent amount & the chorizo wasn't too spicy or overpowering the plate. I've been back twice to have the same meal & everything was delicious & satisfying. It's a very nice upscale coffee shop/cafe with a very nice & large selection of not only Chaffee drinks but many other options as well. Staff are motivated, professional & polite, my only small concern was hearing them talk nearby about things that they should never let the customer hear, hence the 4 stars. Our server was great. I think the tea needs (and maybe I missed it on the menu) to be labeled "unsweetened". I tried cold versions of flirt & tropical, they were not good. I tried adding sugar to the tropical, it didn't help & that was with 4 sugar packets. Other than that, food & service were great! Parking is very tight. This was my first time visiting to location. This is a cute coffee shop and breakfast spot sitting right next to White Rock Lake, which is great if you want to take a walk and drink a coffee. However, I personally had a bad experience... My wife and I ordered a coffee and a matcha and paid ~$16 for it (typical coffee shop prices nowadays). We sat there waiting for our name to be called but after 15 minutes, we didn't hear anything. When I went to the counter to see what was up, our drinks had been sitting there ready to be picked up. My wife's matcha was hot but we wanted it cold. When I told the barista this, he simply poured the hot matcha over a cup of ice, added some vanilla foam on top, and handed it back to me. The ice immediately melted and the drink became super watery and lukewarm. It tasted super nasty, so I went back and told him it was watery and not cold. He said, "yeah..." and gave me some more ice. Now yes... I should have demanded he remake it, but I guess I was taken aback by the lack of care and just left unhappy. Maybe this isn't reflective of this place, but it was my experience and it was not a good one. read more

This place is so lovely! It's a beautiful exterior and interior! I was better at the door and asked to sit where I would like. This is a coffee shop where they serve/wait on you. My server was amazing, she was so chill and kind. I got a dirty chai and a blueberry muffin. The chai was with oat milk so it was smooth and creamy but still spicy with the chai. What I love about muffins is that the outside muffin too is crunchy and the inside is soft! My favorite combo! Parking is free and typically plentiful. I haven't had issues parking in the front. WiFi is free and you can take your laptop in to do work, despite it looking like a restaurant. I had such a great experience I will be back here again! read more

We enjoyed brunch on the patio as the weather was beautiful that day. We started with a drink from the coffee bar and waited almost an hour to be sat. There were several open places inside and outside. Service was a bit slow as the crowd was not that large. Food was good, but my omelette was overdone a bit and presentation was not that great. We were never asked if we needed anything additional with meal like sauce or any kind. Our water canteen was never refilled and had to ask if we could have ice. We ate and left. I came here with family of 5 on a Saturday morning and it was busy but not too bad. We were told to stand by the door to wait for a table. Then we saw a big empty table and asked if it would be ours and if we could be seated. The hostess kept telling us to wait by the door. We had 2 seniors and a small child so I didn't think asking to be seated at the table we would get anyways is too much to ask, even if they didn't have the servers yet. We ordered two of their steak hash to go, and I also got a large iced white mocha. The food was good! Steak was a little dry but good. The coffee though? I'm not sure I would recommend it. It tasted like... lettuce? And I drink a lot of coffee in a variety of ways. You'd assume a white mocha might be too sweet from a coffee shop you've never tried before. I even would have been pleasantly surprised if it was too strong! But it was weak, and I am still very thrown off by the vague vegetable notes.. There isn't much space to wait for a to go order so I had to sit at a table. They are very close together, so I felt I was intruding on the couple next to me. They do offer a pleasant looking outside seating area. If we tried this place again I would want to sit and eat, but with a newborn and toddler it just wasn't an option for me. read more

Blueberry Pancakes, Aussie Sandwich I love this place! Can't believe it's taken me so long to try it given how many of them are scattered around DFW. Interior is bright and happy, we bad a reservation for our group of 8 on the weekend. Lots of parking around, this one is right next to an apartment complex. The Blueberry pancakes were ginormous and so fluffy and wonderful and chock full of fresh sweet blueberries. Love love love the ambiance here! Ascension resides in the restored old White Rock community chapel with a huge vaulted ceiling and warm geometric chandeliers. The outdoor patio has a fire pit and fireplace for those cool evenings. I'm been here a few times for coffee and cocktails. I still haven't tried the food but the brunch menu looks delicious. They have a golden happy hour with $5 cocktails. The espresso martini and frozen Vietnamese iced coffee were both okay but neither had the intense coffee flavor I was craving. They tasted more like cold brew in strength. The gin and lemon cocktail was excellent though. Hot coffee drinks are great here as you would expect and they have lots of interesting spins on the classics. read more

The food and service here are superb, but finding a parking space can be a challenge. You might luck out and find a space between two other cars or SUVs, but once you're in the space is too tight to allow you to open your doors. Literally my fav brunch place in all of Dallas. I go here after church all the time. It's very reasonably priced, super yummy, and you'll for sure be full after. Also, their mimosas have a good ratio to them - get the carafe. My favorite things to get are the Tex Mex omelette, the brunch burger, and the pancakes (I always get them for the table to share). Also, ask for a side of their spicy ranch. I've only been on a Sunday for brunch, so usually it is busy and there will be a wait. Cozy interior and great place to catch up! read more

This Ascension location is so disappointing - the menu and building are great, but execution is awful. I've been going here for over a year and probably 75% of the time there is something wrong with my order, specifically the food. Coffee is pretty much always great, but there's something up in the kitchen there. Most recently got the Power Bowl, which is delicious, but I don't eat onions. I requested no pickled onions. They ADDED green onions, which are not an ingredient in this menu item. Probably shouldn't be adding random things into dishes that aren't on the menu - what if someone has an allergy? read more

My son took us here on a recent trip to Dallas and it did not disappoint! I had their power bowl and it was excellent! My daughter loved her granola bowl, and my son had a breakfast plate with eggs and chorizo, all delicious! The building is beautiful inside, great decor. They never seem to have enough servers? Even when it's been slow the wait time to even be greeted can take way to long. Outdoor seating is nice if they feel like getting to your table, I ended up having to order at the take out counter just to get eat within the hour. The whole staff seemed off but the food is always good. The down side of take out is the portions seem alot smaller because as amazing as the poblano soup is they barely fill it to 3/4 of a cup.
