I recall driving by Rhea Flower Shop a lot on my way home so I decided to give them a call. What a great decision as Helen was so pleasant and helpful. I told her that we were on a $100 budget and she still made sure to make the most beautiful yellow and white arrangement within an hour - the flowers were delivered to the St. Joe's soon after. They have been in business for over 30 years and I will definitely order from them again. I know I've said this in the past but, please try and support your local businesses.

She is thee best it's a visual treat to walk into her shop and no matter what it's like outside it's warm and welcoming at Rheas beyond the great quality and selection. There's wonderful aroma to breathe in the second you open the door. Something that just can't be bottled, nature at it's best, makes me smile anyways. My family has purchased everything from wedding flowers, funeral arrangements to the boutonnière and the corsage I brought my date at my high school graduation. Today I was in and purchased a wonderful Christmas wreath for my Grandparents grave. I always like to get something unique like my Baba and this year Rhea suggested one with Magnolias blossoms w/leaves and pine cones. Perfect! The owner is a wonderful woman wrapped my wreath in cellophane and attach to a wreath stand (to protect it from the weather) all I had to do was push it into the ground at the cemetery. What more could I ask? There's always a great variety of house plants too so I like to pick up a little treat for myself. Today I purchased a Japanese fern for only $8 I'd recommend anyone needing Christmas arrangements to make their way to Rheas quick!

Hopped on the old Yelp app and searched for florists nearby and came across Joan's. I was a little skeptical at first as the Longbranch community can be hit or miss, but the reviews were decent (albeit few) so I stepped out citing I needed to do some errands. It's deceivingly large inside with near floor to ceiling flora and fridges/coolers to match. The lady working was an older Chinese woman - I assumed the owner? She was so sweet and when I told her my plan she immediately asked me my budget and she set to work picking some of the most beautiful, seasonal flowers, in combinations I had never considered. I don't know all the names but there were sunflowers, and... maybe daisies? Definitely a massive beautiful arrangement for not a huge price. Cut, arranged and set beautifully for me to take home and surprise Sachi with. TL:DR - Fiancee needed a pick me up, I bought her flowers. She loved them - and almost 2 weeks later they're still alive and kicking for the most part! Thanks to Joan's for helping me brighten someone else's day!

I told her I would like to spend $50. I don't mind spending about $50 on a nice bouquet of flowers. I was blown away by the size and quality of these flowers when picking them up! It was one of the biggest bouquets I have ever seen.. and for $50 come on that's incredible. The staff are friendly and give great advice to keep your flowers alive.

Floral arrangements are what they pride themselves on but don't underestimate their foliage options! Prices are lower than other independent shops around, and it's conveniently at the heart of downtown Toronto. For such a tiny shop, they bring in many plant varieties that even Canadian Tire next door doesn't stock. The owner is also sweet and accommodating and would give you tips on plant care if you need it. Here are some plant goodies I've picked up in the past year: - Rubber Plant 3.5inch pot $10 - Hoya Pubicalyx 4inch $18 - Peperomia Hope 3.5inch $7 - 5inch white round ceramic pot made from Germany is less than $15 During the lockdown, they do pickups and payments in-store. Tip: I suggest following their Instagram page to get updates of their new stock and PM the owner through there to reserve your plant.
