I had hurt my shoulder . They gave me an appointment the same day. I met with Hazel, the resident Osteopath and she was fantastic. She was so thorough in her assessment of me and the work she did that day really helped my shoulder. She followed up with me a couple of days later and I luckily only needed one more appointment. The service I got was thorough. The value was good and they didn't push you into treatment you didn't need. I went to see the therapist approved from my insurance and while they identified the root cause (something with my rotator cuffs), the sessions were literally 10 minutes long: "Let me give you some exercises that you can do at home..." Which, I didn't really do...granted, that's on me! When I came to see Luke Abnett here at Covent Garden Physio, the experience was quite different. He came to the same assessment, but then he actually spend a good 15-20 minutes manipulating my shoulder...stretching and doing other "magic" touches to it. This didn't "heal" it, but it made for a much nicer experience and I've actually followed Luke's recommended exercises and have been doing them regularly. I know shoulder injuries take a long time to heal and at the time of when I'm writing this, I'm still recovering, but I would go back to Covent Garden Physio in a heartbeat...

MikeSquirrellClinic diagnosed me with "Fat Pad" and assured me that within a few weeks and a few sessions I should be back to normal. MSClinic did give me a number of good stretches to work through outside the clinic and performed various massage and acupuncture techniques. After stretching intensely and by the 4th or 5th appt. without results, I became frustrated and began to research the problem myself. On the last appointment I asked a number of questions about my right VMO muscle and realised this was the main problem. It had weakened significantly, and the knee pain was being caused by a "lack of tracking" from a weak VMO. So for the past 2 months I have been working on my own researching on ways to build up the strength in this muscle, and I am finally back to approx. 95%. Honestly, the best remedy for this was simple leg extensions with small weight, basically starting with lifting the bar and building up over time. I didn't try this remedy until about a month ago as I had a stigma that weights were bad and stretching / core strengthening is the best alternative. I wish I had done this from day 1 and not spent the money that I did. Or at least received this advice. I am a bit disappointed with the whole process as I feel I lost a summer of running (for once a nice summer). I emailed MSClinic with the above dissatisfaction and did not receive a response. There is likely a better clinic out there.

Going to scoliosis experts (MDs) all over San Diego County, my choices for care are surgery, pain management (narcotics), or physical therapy so generic it did NO good. Then I found Scoliosis SOS online. They are located in Great Britain. They offered physical therapy via ZOOM. I had to pay out of pocket but the cost is deductible on my tax return. I have been in the program for several weeks and the results are slow, steady, and so beneficial. I feel and am beginning to look so much better. I had no equipment, so I invested in an adjustable bar for a doorway, six foot wooden poles, and resistance bands (about $35 total). I use a yoga mat for some floor exercises. It is so old and unused that it still wants to curl up. There is no other scoliosis clinic like this in the USA that I can find. This company is excellent at sending emails that document all payments, confidentiality and consent agreements, confirmed appointment dates, and print outs of every exercise I perform. Because one of my knees needs replacement, the physical therapists I work with adjusted my exercises to avoid any discomfort or injury to the affected knee. I needed to make some changes to the scheduled appointments and my needs were accommodated. I recommend this company so highly. They work with patients all over the world. I can't wait to re-visit my US scoliosis MD and see his reaction to the improvement in my posture from just these simple but effective exercises.
