I would give zero stars if I could. The only reason I financed my purchased was because there was zero percent financing. I even specifically asked, "are there any fees or will this financing cost me anything?" and I was told, in no uncertain terms by the person arranging the financing, that financing was completely free. Horrible customer service. Don't ever shop here, it will be a waste of time and energy. I order 6 dining chairs in April 2021 where they told us it would be 8-10 weeks. No phone calls to let us know that they would be delayed, after countless months of me calling in and checking on my purchase they told us that they would not be arriving until December of 2021. Already frustrated that it was past 5 months of waiting for chairs I cancelled my order. I paid for my chairs with my visa, and half with prepaid visas as they were a house warming gift. Cassandra specifically told me that she could refund my entire visa because I no longer had the prepaid cards. Countless times she would tell me she would call me with updates and never did. She basically then told me I was "on my own" to call visa regarding the remaining funds and there was nothing she could do. All I want is my remaining funds so I can purchase chairs for my new home. I helped my mom purchase a living room set and coffee table from Ashley Furniture long before I knew Yelp existed (approximately four years ago), but our experience with them was bad enough to review now. When shopping for living room furniture, we were really impressed with both the selection and price at Ashley, and we seemed to find what we wanted quite easily. After we selected the living room set, we got the high pressure sales pitch for the fabric warranty, and I mean high pressure. My mom finally gave in and ordered the warranty, because it didn't seem like they were going to let us leave with the couch without purchasing it. It was a light cream couch so we figured it couldn't hurt, and the price was low enough it wasn't a huge deal. Once we started the paperwork for the set, the sales manager informed us that they didn't have it in stock, and that it would be six weeks before they could get the table and couch to Edmonton. Six weeks didn't seem too bad at the time, so we agreed it was ok. When we were presented with the final bill of sale, there was large bold print stating that all sales are final. The salesperson said that once we sign, the furniture is ours, no exceptions. This caused some alarm bells in my head, but since we had measured and really liked the couch, we went ahead. Now comes the bad part. We waited, and waited, and waited. Six weeks went by. Then two months. We followed up with the store three times and kept getting more excuses as to why the furniture seemed to be lost in limbo somewhere. My mom called multiple times to customer service to try and cancel the order because we actually needed a couch (we had agreed to donate our current couch), but they stuck firm to the final sale - no refunds, no exceptions. The coffee table arrived after three months. We finally got the couch after four months. After one month of gentle wear (i.e. having a blanket on the cushions to protect it from our dog) large black lines began to appear on the couch cushions. We called, and they sent a service tech out, and after he wasn't able to clean the cushions, we got a replacement cushion because the fabric was "faulty". The couch cushions haven't held up all that well four years later, and I can't say I'm surprised. Nearly every aspect of our dealings with Ashley Furniture was unpleasant, and I frequently tell friends who are furniture shopping to steer clear of their stores. read more

Worst customer service and warranty. The finish is lifting off my dining table and when the service guy came to take pics he told me it was a finish problem , nothing I did caused it and would probably need to be sanded and refinished but had to send pics into the service manager. Now the service manager is trying to say it was caused by moisture and nothing they can do. I also know it wasn't a moisture problem cause after I clean my table I dry it with a dry hand towel to get the moisture. Ashley Furniture on Stony Plain Rd, in Edmonton, has horrible Customer Service. They sold me a $599 bed with missing crossbars and slats. Customer Service told me day after day they would call back. They never did. One day they even made fun of me and said I was insulting them by not believing that they would call me back. They still did not call. A store employee said the manager would call back. They did not. I kept calling the store and the manager said she'd call me back. Instead she had someone else do it. She also made fun of me saying, I had no time to call you, are you saying you wanted me to call you back later than I promised? After registering a complaint with the Better Business Bureau a tech built me makeshift parts out of old wood that he measured incorrectly. He also left a metal post sticking out, to rip my box spring. He left saying "you'll be fine." Ordered replacement cushions after my dog chewed them up, knew it would cost a pretty penny. The girl on the phone couldn't calculate the right cost for the life of her, kept emailing me back with different prices to pay. Should take 2-4 weeks I was told. 2 weeks after thinking they were ordered and I paid $500 I got an email saying they need $160 more as the price has gone up SINCE MY ORDER. I asked to speak to management/the escalation team and got a call back where I was told there might be something she could do as I was delayed 2 weeks due to their incompetence and she would call me right back that day. It's 9 days later and no call back. I've called 3 times since asking to speak to someone and keep being told "the notes say she will call you this evening" or "I'll send her another email to call you"... it's been 3 weeks and no call back and the cushions I should have by now have not even been ordered yet and I sit here without a couch in my new home. Ordered and paid for our furniture in full, delivery was late couple months but I was ok until our furniture was delivered broken with a hole in the back of my sofa. I was told to phone guest service by my sales person which I did. Guest service want to fix the piece instead of replacing it with a new one as I paid for a brand new set which should be broken. Then I was accused of asking to bend and break their company policy which I didn't other than asking for what I paid for a brand new set. I'm very concerned that the broken piece and the hole that it made may have impacted the integrity of the sofa. How would I know that there isn't start of another crack somewhere else in the frame. So angry and upset! Guest service needs training for sure in customer care and how they address customers who paid for a product in support of their company instead of making customers feel that they did something wrong. read more

I bought a console table from here and as soon as I unpacked it out of the box it was clearly not good quality. The table top was warped and when I began to assemble it, some of the screws were clearly not drilled in the right places. Then one of the screws totally fell out of the wood and the table fell apart. Not only will they not give me a full refund, I have to drive back to the warehouse to return the product AND pay a 25% service fee on top of it! STAY AWAY FROM ASHLEY HOMESTORE. Where do I start. We purchased a couch back in November and were aware of the long wait period to receive it. We finally got the couch on the 24th of February, and that is where the "fun" starts. The couch was delivered and placed inside our house, with the boxes clearly upside down and with multiple tears in the protective wrapping. Once assembled there were at least 4-5 dirty spots and hand prints on our brand new, light coloured couch. Also, there was a board sticking out the side. I called the store that night and they advised me to contact guest care and it wasn't their problem, fair. Call guest care the next morning since they were closed by the time I got around to call them the night the couch was delivered. Get a hold of guest care and they advise me that I need to contact the "chat now" button on their website. Proceed to the website and start a conversation with a employee and tell my story and send pictures and I'm assured that I will receive an update that day. 4 days pass and I have to contact them again for a update for them to just tell me that theirs no update yet. 3 more days go by and I have to reach out AGAIN for the employee to tell me there's no update again so I ask the employee who to contact for refund because I am done chasing people and they "miraculously" find an update and there will be a 25% restocking fee for returns even after all the people I have chased. I ask who I can deal with for a full refund and they proceed to advise me to contact the store directly. I do so and after 5 attempts I finally get someone on the phone and they tell me that they will have the manager call me back. No callback was received so a couple days later I call again and finally get a hold of a manager and plead my case. She tells me that its the weekend and we won't expect an update till Monday, understandably. Monday rolls around and I FINALLY GOT SOMEONE TO GIVE ME A UPDATE. The update was that there was no update but I still received a call back. Fast forward 6 days of no update again... I call back on Saturday March 13th to speak with the manager I was dealing with and she tells me she must speak to her manager about the situation. March 14 rolls around and guess what. The store tells me AGAIN they can't deal with the situation and we must deal with guest care, who clearly told us that if we want to avoid any charges we must deal with the store directly. I have never been treated this poorly when purchasing anything in my life and the fact that the story and the policies change from employee to employee is quite ridiculous. We were told and treated extremely poorly from multiple employees and they made us feel like the net person would be able to help us, which in the end no one ever did. We are forced to pay the 25% restocking fee and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you find another place to purchase your furniture because if it is this hard to find someone to talk to and receive an update and at the end of the day they still can't help you, could you imagine how hard it would be to have someone repair your piece of furniture? read more

Great service!! Recently purchased a new house, so we have been buying a lot of furniture in different stores, but regret not buying everything at this store. The service was amazing, prices were great, and delivery was right on time. They estimated they'd be there between 2-6, and were at my house at 2:00 sharp, put together our brand new kitchen table, and hauled away all the junk. The delivery people even knew how to care for the wooden table, and made sure we were happy with everything. Our sales consultant, Karan Sharma, was fantastic also. He was knowledgeable, easy to deal with, and super efficient. It was basically the easiest furniture purchase ever! Would highly recommend Ashley Furniture! We bought from some other, more expensive furniture stores in South Edmonton Common, and were super disappointed with those purchases from beginning to end. read more

We bought 2 couches from the South Edmonton common location. The sales person was incredibly persistent and we bought the couches without being sure they would fit in our living room, but she didn't even give us time to think before we bought them. We could have said no to them but she assured us that they were easy to return. When we were getting them delivered, the first time was our fault as we did not get home in time, but we rescheduled and took the day off work to make sure we were there to receive them. On that day it was getting late and we had a weird feeling that they were taking too long, so we tracked the delivery and it said "could not be completed". We had not had a phone call all day so there was no way we could have missed them. We called guest care and they said that they called us and we didn't pick up so they left. When we confirmed the number they used, it was WRONG. We were very fed up since we lost time and money that day so we wanted to return the couches and since it was their fault we did not feel like we had to pay the 10% restocking fee. It has been 2 weeks of going back and forth between guest care and the store and they keep telling us they will call us back and we never get a call back. It has been a very frustrating process. We bought a couch from Ashley furniture back in April. The gentleman who helped us out was very pushy and rude. He didn't understand our budget and what we wanted. Finally after discussing it with my partner we decided to buy a couch from Ashley furniture thinking at least the quality would be better then the customer service. We were told that it would take 3-4 weeks for the couch to arrive which was perfect as we were moving into our new apartment roughly around the same time. We got a call a couple days later saying our couch was ready for pickup. We didn't have a place to put it as we were specifically needing the couch to come in when we had gotten the keys to our new place. We asked if Ashley furniture could store the couch at their warehouse and they agreed. The couch was moved into our apartment and finally when we got to sit on the couch something seemed off. We pulled the cushions out and realized that a wooden piece was broken. We called customer service the next day. A technician came out and told me that at first him and a co worker could come and fix the piece with a bracket. He then went to measure the broken piece and realized it was broken in 3 places. He said it was not our fault as it wasn't something that we could've done (and I didn't think we could possibly do it as we didn't sit on it as I work long hours at the hospital and my partner was working nights at that time). He said instead it doesn't seem like it can be fixed but rather it should be replaced. He stated that when they would deliver the new couch they would pick up the broken one. I said okay and was assured I would be awaiting a call from customer service to arrange pick up and drop off. Customer service called and said that they were going to take the couch and actually repair it at their warehouse and that the technician didn't explain everything properly. They said that they would come in 10 days and we would be without our furniture for a week. We were beyond upset. First of all we paid almost $1300 for this couch. I assumed Ashley furniture had good quality of furniture based off of reviews and opinions but clearly I was very wrong. This couch has been nothing but a hassle. It has been made so cheaply that I rather have spent my hard working money elsewhere. We were looking at another company and debating dream but made the mistake of trusting Ashley furniture. Even now when we need to fix the couch they are messing up with pick up times and when contacting a manager there is nothing they can do. I will never recommend Ashley furniture to anyone. This is been such a bad experience and no one has been helpful!!! Bad quality, bad service, and no honesty with anyone we've talked to. I purchased a power loveseat and table and chairs from Ashley in South Edmonton Common. The 2 week delivery turned into 6 weeks when we paying the bill....2 months later we received the furniture. One chair was wobbling and there was a rip in the back of the loveseat and the cup holder was damaged. Was told this was going to get fixed immediately. Well someone came out to fix our chair and dropped it and dented my hardwood floor...and the chair was still not fixed. A month later the power on the loveseat quit....and I phoned and got the run around and they would be out to fix it but not until a week later, and everything would be done....well he was out today and no parts and he had to unplug the chair as there were wires crossed and he was concerned a short may happen.....and it is still not fixed.....I thought that they had good quality furniture and great service.....but they are sure proving that wrong...... read more

This place locks you in when you buy so beware. They do not honour returns or exchanges, once you buy you're stuck with it even if it won't fit in your door. The other thing is the sales guy pushed and hassled me to buy a fabric warranty. I said NO about 10 times, he then told another sales girl to join him in harassing me. I agreed to buy it because he said the warranty covers regular cleaning by one of their technicians, "all you have to do is call, its amazing." I believed him, BIG MISTAKE. I finally got around to calling them a couple years later for cleaning, and they told me there is no such thing, only if I spill something and it stains. What a ripoff. TERRIBLE! We were assured many times while purchasing that unlike their competitors AFH could deliver your furniture in 21 days. We were looking for a mid priced couch, nothing too fancy as this was for our TV room. We found a decent priced sectional there and were able to haggle down the price. I paid in full and items were to be delivered 3 weeks later. close to the delivery date I contacted them and was told everything was good to go. not even 24 hour prior to our furniture being delivered they advised that items were out of stock. They could not provide us with a actual delivery date, so we decided to cancel and get a refund. They said if we did that we would have to pay a 25% restocking fee! REALLY?? on items that are not in stock? made absolutely no sense but whatever we decided to just wait for delivery. We contacted them over 15 times to try and find out when items would be delivered. MOST reps we talked to have been rude, aloof, ignorant and make it very clear they do not give a crap about your order. FINALLY the delivery happens, I was home that day with my brother in law. I get a call from Ashley Customer service advising that the delivery staff is outside. So I go to my door greet the guy and all of a sudden he starts screaming at me. No exaggeration, he was literally yelling at me. He claimed he had been waiting 15 minutes and how I was wasting his time and so on. Unbelievable! I have been waiting close to 2 months and I didn't feel it necessary to raise my voice, insult and belittle someone. I basically told him to shut up and just do his job, immediately called customer service to advise of this persons behavior. She had just spoken with him and she said he was rude and condescending to her as well and she was going to put a complaint in to his supervisor. The only reason I allowed this person into my home was due to the fact we had already waited twice as long and my brother in law was present so I felt somewhat safe. He continued on for a bit and I just did my best to shrug him off, I asked if he thought how he was acting was appropriate, he stormed off slamming my front door. Which now does not close properly, they also left a chip in my door frame! So now i'm dealing with Ashley Furniture for that as well. I purchased a 5 piece bedroom set + a chest from Ashely on Stoney Plain Road. 1st the sales lady seems nice. But she lied. She told me to come back on Sunday since Mark (the manager) was a very nice guy and will offer me a good deal. Our delivery time was told 3-4 weeks. 3 days before the end of 4 weeks we get a call saying that the delivery would be on a Saturday. AND WE WERE TOLD NOT ASKED. A day before we get a call saying the delivery would be between 10-1.. and again we WERE TOLD NOT ASKED. I take half a day off my work & i get a call at 9am on Saturday saying the trucks broken down and the delivery is scheduled for next week. No matter how much you want to plead about the money you are going to loose due to no mistake of yours. I call the Sales Manager who tells me, I quote "Trucks break down its not my problem. and anyway this is not my part of the business.Its not you we have 30 other customers who's delivery is rescheduled". A simple question: can you compensate me for the money that i lost... he says well i gave you a 3 hr advance notice. NO BS here... but they will not listen to anything that you have to say. For anyone wanting to purchase from Ashley please read this. I know it's a lengthy read but it's your money and time you're spending. Make your decision on buying from them after reading this. 2 years ago my wife and I purchased a living room set Sofa, loveseat, chair and ottoman and the 5 year protection plan plus from Ashley Edmonton 18715 Stony Plain Rd location. I'm always reluctant into buying extended warranty's but the sales person explained how good theirs was so we purchased it. The sales person also told us they have a price protection policy in that they will meet any competitor's price. 3 days later we found the exact same set at a competitors store for $600.00 less. We went back to Ashley with pictures and prices and they refused the price protection policy because it didn't have the Ashley tag stuck under the cushions. I asked that my order be cancelled and wanted a refund only to find out we only had 24 hours to cancel an order and now would cost us 25% restocking fee on the full amount. All items were ordered and not received, some for up to 6 weeks before delivery. With enough arguing about the product being exactly the same except for the Ashley sticker the store manager refunded us $240.00. We have had the set for 2 years and are happy with it but in the past 5 months noticed a 1 inch section of stitching on top of the backrest fabric let go and 2 cushions have lost their support, the fabric was wearing and the Velcro sewn on the bottom wasn't holding the cushions to the sofa properly.( I know reading this you may think we are hard on our furniture, but we are not. We have 2 complete leather sets in the house that are 20 and 24 years old that are still like new and both my wife and I are not at all large people, one set was used every day until we purchased this set from Ashley). We called the service number at the end of April to have these repairs looked at and about 2 weeks later had a service rep come and take pictures and wrote what was wrong. I called service a couple weeks later to find out what they were going to do and when they would repair the problems since I never heard from them. The person on the phone told me the warranty department is looking at it and will call me in a few days. No one called so I called again only to get the same answer. We waited a couple more weeks and I called only to find out that they lost the photos they took of our sofa and would have to send someone out again. I was polite and patient and they sent the same service rep to retake the photos and wrote the problems again. So we waited for another 2 weeks with no call. I called service and they said they have someone looking at my file and will call me the next day. I waited until evening the next day and no call. I called them again and they put me on hold, a few minutes later the person told me they were going to repair the stitching and Velcro but not the fabric. The person told me they don't replace the cushion fabrics if they are worn. I told him it was in the warranty policy and because of the big inconvenience they caused us they should at least do that. The person told me he didn't have the authority to make that call, so I asked to talk to a manager. He told me no manager was there, so I asked him to leave a note for one to call me, they never did. I called again after a week and they made me an appointment for all the repairs the service person told me including the cushions, good I thought. They picked up our sofa and even told my wife the wear should not happen like that after only 2 years and took it for the repairs. The service repair place had it for a week and today we received it back with the stitching fixed and new white thread showing through our taupe colored fabric and a hole in the fabric beside it that wasn't there when it left our house. The cushions and fabric were not replaced. The Velcro was replaced on the bottom of the cushions and holes are now torn into the bottom of the fabric around the stitching areas. The Velcro was replaced on the sofa bottom above the springs where it would meet the seat cushion Velcro but the protective fabric layer that keeps the springs of the sofa from damaging the cushion fabric has been pushed and bunched up to the front of the sofa. This just gets better, the sofa legs are scratched and the fabric in the corners of the sofa that cover the frame is pulled away exposing the wood frame to wear on the cushions. The delivery guys called service so my wife could let the service department know how good the repairs were. She told them we want a new sofa and explained how they ruined ours. They made an appointment to look at it next week. So our mess continues. read more

Do not shop here! Furniture arrived 10 days later than promised and our reclining sofa didn't recline! We had to pay to have it exchanged for a functional model, they called it a 'service call'. Customer service was awful, nothing but complaints through the BBB got any response from them. My experience with the Ashley Furniture Store on Stony Plain Road in Edmonton left me with a bad taste. We ordered a dining room suite in mid December 2013 and were told delivery was February 8. We were okay with that date and proceeded with the purchase. As February 8 approached we were preparing for the delivery and I received a call from Customer Service saying our shipment had been delayed but we could reschedule the deliver for the following week. In preparation for the delivery we got rid of our dining room suite. On the day the shipment was supposed to show up, there was nothing - no call, no email - nothing. Late in the afternoon I called customer service and was told that my order wasn't even in and wasn't expected until mid-March. I was also told that I had been called about the change of delivery dates (which did not happen as I have voice mail on both numbers and there were no messages or missed calls from Ashley Furniture). At this point I was very angry and contacted the store. After several days of calling I finally spoke with a manager at the location and was offered a discount of $500 for the inconvenience. I was very tempted to cancel the order but decided I didn't want to go through the process of finding a new suite since I really liked the one we had chosen. So I took the discount and was told that we could take delivery in mid-March. Finally I got delivery on the 29th of March, but they delivered the wrong table. It took another week to get the right table and there was a problem with one of the chairs so I had to book a technician to look at it which was fine, except that I had to wait until the end of April for the technician. It is now June 11 and I have to make another call to customer service because the finish on the table is cracking. AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE !!! PLAN ON NOT SEEING YOUR FURNITURE FOR SIX MONTHS OR MORE AND ONCE ITS THERE, PRAY IT ACTUALLY WORKS ! purchasing a sectional from the south common location has been an absolute nightmare and I FEEL AS IF THEY ARE HOLDING MY MONEY AS WELL AS MY FURNITURE HOSTAGE! we ordered a sectional in October 2014, it came broken ! They sent a tech out, schedule him for a 15 minute slot and then he told us he had another appointment booked in 140km away !! It never got fixed, said we could send it to the shop ??? And sit on ??? The floor ?? What about the " quality" furniture that was suppose to get in the first place ??? After 3 months of waiting .... Went back in Jan. picked out a new sectional was guaranteed prompt delivery and still do not have a delivery date for our replacement sectional !!!! Have called customer service a hundred time have been hung up on, lied to and basically told to bad we are holding your furniture till our truck is maybe full by the end of march... My couch has been in edmonton since Feb.6/2015....I was told I can have a third party deliver it... After i have already paid for delivery !!! Also that they were doing me a favor by delivering it ??? Really is it a favor if i have paid for it ???? Didnt realize the 75$ in gas to send a truck up here and save a customer would break a company like Ashley !!! WILL NEVER BUY FROM ASHLEY'S AGAIN !! In my 38 years of life, this was the worst customer service I have ever had. I am not exaggerating. I am beyond being angry about the arduous months long screwing around I have received from them. They have nice stuff but their customers services is THE WORST. Nobody at the "help" line seems to know what is going on. Their computer system is dysfunctional. Half the time it either hung up on me when I called or called me to hang up on me. The sales person wouldn't take responsibility when she sold us a couch that wasn't the color that they have. It turned out that the couch they had in the show room was old and worn in, and, after I showed the pictures of the couch they delivered and the couch at the showroom to the delivery guys, even they thought it was a different couch and took back the one they delivered. Now, 4 months later, I still don't have the couch I bought. I keep calling to arrange the delivery and they say they will call me back to arrange the time but don't call.
