I guess I've never been in an Ashley HomeStore before. I was immediately greeted by someone who had a role almost like a hostess. She asked for my name and what I needed help with. Her demeanor was almost suspicious so I got a little worried that you could only browse the store if it was appointment only. As I was looking around it seemed like everyone had a minder with them. I was doing a super quick walkthrough to see if they had any lighting options that I liked. I was eventually tracked down by a sales associate. She was a lot nicer than the first person that I talked to. I didn't love the options they had in the store though. It was very heavy, outdated furniture. I've seen similar things at Leon's and the Brick. I was pretty much in and out of there in 5 minutes. read more

I had purchased many items from Ashley's in past including there extended warranty, first time I'm actually trying to use the coverage because had little water that spilled on table, the little bit of water had damaged the face and they say its not covered when clearly it says the extra coverage on there brochure covers liquid damage, all the staff at store saw the pics and where laughing as the head office didn't want to cover it as they don't cover liquid, in fact they wanted to charge me $75 to fix it, so in other words stay away from purchasing the extended warranty as it's a scam and fraud, they better return the extended warranty which I purchased!!!! read more

I don't understand some of the bad reviews, but in my case I got personalized and very attentive service from Sepideh on the sales floor steering me towards sensible choices and got valuable tips on care & warranty information and a good deal from Michelle the Store Manager as well. Like the other reviews, STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE! During the Black Friday weekend, I came in looking for mattresses and was approached by a female sales associate at the door with limited working English. She then proceeded to do an "assessment" for me which was alright. Then the nightmare begins, she introduces a "sleep expert" (I think his name was Alex?) to me who was rude and arrogant. After repeatedly telling him that I won't be making a decision on that day, he kept insisting that I purchase the item right away. I ended up walking away frustrated and angry for such disgusting customer service. No amount of response from HQ will change my mind about this place. I hope they go out of business soon! read more

I second the opinion that ppl should stay away from this store, since the customer service is terrible and staffs are ignorant and rude. I went to the store and made the purchase for new beds and mattresses on Dec.9th. I was informed by the sales person Liza that they would be able to adjust the price if any items are on sale during the holiday times. Then a few days later I found out that the price of the Ellerby mattress that I bought has drastically dropped for around 200 dollars each (I bought two). Due to the Covid, the stores were closed and I had to contact the guest care instead. The guest care told me that they have informed the store yet no one had contacted me. I understand that, due to the holiday and the Covid situation, the responding time could be long. However, 10 days later, still no response. Today, I called the guest care again, then was informed that they couldn't do the price adjustment cuz it's "boxing day price" even I called before the boxing day (and this is from a guest care agent, saying the store informed her that they have reached out to me, which never happened). After the guest care agent simply hung up on me, I tried to reach to someone else on the live chat. A person named Eric told me that he informed his manager then ended the chat without my consent, manifesting quite poor customer service and a lack of patience. I did receive the phone call, later that day, from Noor Kadhim who indicated that he's from the store (even though in the beginning he told me he could not do price adjustment because he's not from the store and I had to wait until March). After constantly self-contradicting, he became very condescending and impatient. Needless to say I was never properly informed by the sales person about "no price adjustment for boxing day price",though there was no indication on the product page that the price drop is boxing day price, I was told that "boxing day sale started early so what you saw was all boxing day price". When I requested the proof, since I suspected that he just made up an excuse to refuse the price adjustment, he sent me a random flyer without the name of the company or the store. The whole situation has been handled unprofessionally and lacks the basic integrity and trust. At the end of the day, it will be the customers who have to pay for the unprofessional conducts of Ashley's staffs. It is not even sufficient to say that my experience with Ashley and this store is beyond disappointing. I suggest that,for anyone who's looking furniture and appliances for their new homes, you should take your business somewhere else since you don't want to be treated unfairly and carelessly, receiving nothing but distrust and mean attitude. read more

Terrible service!! The most terrible Customerservice you may receive in Canada! They don't give a damn to your least expectations as a customer; because the main goal they have is to sell the furniture. They partner with Fairstone and they offer you to finance through Fairstone and pay no interest for the first six month (which is supposed to be sweet). It will turn out to be a biiig headache for you to deal with Fairstone because every month they bill you a new number!!! are you kidding me?? I bought the furniture in Dec 2019 and within 3 months I have received 5 bills with 5 different figures that dont add up! You think you are dealing with the loaner so you call Fairstone they are not accountable, you call Ashley store and they don't even know how to access your profile or your data in their computer!! Awful, awful, awful If it was possible to give negative reviews I would. This store is as bad as everyone says (read some of their other reviews) They claim to have 'superior' service but the reality is the exact opposite. Much like others here, the purchased items immediately become unavailable for weeks or months and in our case came broken. Add to that delays in replacement parts being delivered, wasting hours for a no show on a delivery and all around frustration- no amount of savings is worth dealing with Ashley HomeStore. Any normal retailer would refund customers or at least make amends. This place hides behind their 'contract' and barely lift a finger to make things right. They take your money and barely deliver what you purchased. Management puts their customer service reps on the font line while they sit back and won't engage with the customer. The place is a total rip off. Avoid it like the plague. You'll be doing yourself a favour. read more

We purchased a bedroom set from this store in October, 2018, in anticipation of moving to a new house on Nov. 1. We were told the bedroom set would be delivered in mid-November. Nothing was delivered then. The delivery date got pushed to December. Then we were told that the set wouldn't be delivered until January. Today, we called to see when the January delivery would be, and we were told that it won't be delivered until February (no one had even bothered to call and inform us of this. If we hadn't called, we would have never known.) We have been met with a lot of indifference from the Ashley head office who consistently tell us that this is not their problem and that a return (of products we have not received) would require a "re-stocking fee". **Stay away from this store and BEWARE of "free shipping"** Potential scam?? We bought a love seat in January and was told we will have free shipping. Everything was nice and the delivery date was set up at the store. The staff knew we live in a condo and said nothing about the actual condition of "free delivery". All we received was the general delivery terms and condition. Then the nightmare began. On the day of the delivery, the delivery company called my husband and asked him to bring a dolly to meet him because they will not bring the loveseat to the unit. What kind of furniture don't deliver to the unit? Also the condition that was given cleaely stated. We can't being the loveseat up so the delivery people threathern us that the company will charge us for restocking fee. I called the conpany and the lady was rude. She said this is a "free delivery" hence they dont bring the loveseat up to the unit. She told me to "deal with the delivery company". She also said the store should have tols me about it. Well they didnt. Who would buy a big furniture if they know they have to buy an appropriate dolly and move it from outside of the building and get it in the elevator then to the unit?? I told the lady I paid Ashley for the product and service hence I shouldn't have to deal with their third party delivery company. I told her I want a full refund unless they were able to delivery the loveseat on the same day (who can afford to take two day offs for a furniture??). The lady on the phone promised me she will comtact me. Well, she didn't. 3 months later they finally called us. The delivery scheduling person called my husband and told him they want to schedule a day for delivery. We told him no and we wanted a full refund. (What do they think we have been sitting on for the last 3 months??) Then the person began rude and aggressive. Telling him we are going to charge you. You have to call the store, I AM GOING TO KEEP CALLING YOU UNTIL YOU FED UP OF ME. Two days later I received a voice message from the store manager. Didnt leave her name and just told me to call back. When I call back a staff picked up. This staff was nice and just took the information as she has no authority to issue full refund (they want a restocking fee). On the next busibess day I got a call from the manager. She just told me to go to the storw and get a refund. I asked if I will get a full refund and she said no. She said they cannot give me a full refund because they wanted charge doe restocking fee. I told her they didnt fullfill their terms and condition hence I shouldn't be charged for the restocking fee. She then told me to go to the store. I asked her again if I am going to get a full refund. She said no. I asked her what's the point for me to go to the store if I am not going to get rhe full refund? She began aggressive as well. I tols her they didnt fullfill their terms and condition meaning delivery the product to my unit, it is not fair for me to pay for the restocking fee. She was like yay? We got a paper that you signed here. I asked if it is a paper about free delivery. She said we've got a paper stating you will have to pay for restocking fee if I cancel the delivery. I told her I didnt want to cancel, you guys just didnt want to delivery it to my home. She saud the same thing all over. Then she told me to call the customer sevice then I hung up. The customer service said they cannot help me because they only deal with after sales. I emailed the coorporate as listed in the website about the whole story. In the email said if you are not going to fix the issue then I will have report this to the media. A day later they called my husband. They told him I shouldn't email them about the issue because it related to the local store. (what???? You can't control your stores and you can let them to do whatever???) I purchased a love seat, chair and a half and ottoman from this Ashley's store in Markham, Ontario. I was told that the delivery guys would move the existing furniture to any room in the house.....buyer beware, although it was piece for piece as the terms state, the delivery person was adamant that they don't do that, and couldn't understand why the store would say they would ( and it was even on my sales bill). Also, more important, the legs on the furniture are PLASTIC! I was never informed of this as I assumed it was wood, like most furniture. I was basically told that, that was the way they came and I , ME, should have checked it in the store before I purchased it! Not that the salesperson should have informed me , especially when I was spending so much money on the set. No help from customer service either.....leave it or lump it. If I was to return the set, they would charge me 25% of the cost,, if I was to replace it, 10%. Aweful customer service! I won't be shopping at this store again! Not trustworthy, poor workmanship! We purchased a sofa from Richmond Hill store and arranged delivery to be done today Friday Jun 15. We experienced a total nightmare with their delivery team and call centre we urge other customers consider whether you can bear with the ordeal you may need to deal with before you purchase. We live in a condo so we must reserve the elevator before they can deliver. They called us mid-week and asked for a time. We provided 4-7pm as that is the time the elevator is available for our delivery. They said unable to arrange because 4-7pm does not have 3 hours window since they finish work at 6pm. They then wanted to change to Friday morning but we were not able to change the elevator time so booking cancel. Their delivery person texted us and confirm delivery cancelled. Today, thinking we just need to reschedule the elevator and let them know, they texted us again and said delivery arranged in the morning!!! They texted to confirm cancelled yesterday and then texted today saying delivery despite we already said no elevator no delivery. So, again have to say no. Later on they texted us again and said delivery within today. We got fed up calling the customer care number suffering from prolonged wait time, I ended up go to their store to deal with the situation. I talked to the front desk and a lady reschedule delivery on Jun 23. I said I must reserve the elevator before I could confirm the time. She said she understood. Thinking again situation under control, NO! Ashley texted us again saying they booked delivery the next day i.e. Jun 16 despite I arranged Jun 23 with the store. Not sure why a company can just reschedule delivery without getting customer consent. What a nightmare to deal with them. I called the front desk lady and she said I had to call their customer care toll free to talk to their delivery team directly. So, I call the toll-free number and finally managed to talk to someone. The cs rep. said the system was locked for Jun 16 delivery so he could not reschedule to Jun 23 for me??? He cancelled the Jun 16 delivery and said I have to call them back to rearrange delivery. I requested a call back he said no I have to call. OMG. I talked to their store front desk who said arrange delivery Jun 23, then their call centre gave me another story. I ended up back to the store and finally their store manager seems to care but after much consideration, we ended up request for a full refund. If you are planning to buy furniture, I suggest doing it elsewhere. The delivery team has damaged my walls pretty badly when putting furniture in the lobby. My couch did not fit into my unit, so I have not been contacted by the store for 5 days to resect my couch as promised when purchasing a couch. The store keeps saying its guest care's responsibility and the customer service is saying it is the store that has to initiate the process. Once you make a purchase and the store has your money, they do not care about anything else. I have been calling the store 9 times in the last 4 hours and no one picks up the phone, they do not answer emails, I have been on hold for 45 minutes with customer service and no answer there either. Livechat ppl are not helpful saying that i have to call the store. When I ask to speak with the manager, I have been told that I can't be transfer and there is nothing they can do to help me.
