I bought my sofa from Ashley furniture about five could be six years ago it's holding up great . Also I bought my bed from there very comfortable very sturdy . They have sturdy solid furniture there. The staff are very helpful. When they delivered my furniture to me, The hallway to my entrance door was very narrow, but they were able to get my sofa through my door. ( He wrapped it tightly and he actually was able to get my sofa through the door. I know and believe not anyone else could my sofa through Nero hallway / door no harm to my sofa at all. He's a real big guy he was a tall and sturdy. I can't recall his name, but I'm sure you do My sofa is in great condition. I also bought a mattress and it is in good condition. Very comfortable. I bought a love seat and recliner on 3-22-25. The recliner was ok for a few days and then it became very uncomfortable. I thought it just needed to be broken in, but the issue got worse. On 7-22-25 I finally found a contact email for warranty issues. I was told to take pics of the chair. After they reviewd my claim, they agreed to send out new cushions. Said it would take 2-4 weeks, it took close to 8 weeks. Cushions were installed, seemed ok, but after a few days the issues were back. Contacted them again and was told new mech parts would arive in 7-10 days. It's been over a month and they are not replying to emails. Filed a complaint with the BBB and attorney general. read more

In Nov of 2024 I purchased a lift recliner for my husband. He is unable to sleep in a bed and he sleeps in the chair. In Jan the recline function of the chair stoped working. Thank goodness I had purchased the extended warranty. However I was unable to find any of the paperwork from when I purchased the chair. I went to the store and the sales Rep Alfredo and the GM Javon found all the information in the computer... I called the warranty company, at first they wanted to do a video call to assess the situation. I explained that was not going to fix anything. They then set an appointment for a Tech to come out to the house. While we were waiting for the date the Tech was to arrive, the recline function of the chair started working again. The day the Tech arrived the recline function was still working. He looked at the chair, and said he would turn in his review. I then received an e-mail from the warranty company that stated I would be hearing from Ashley and receive a in store credit for the cost of the chair. We went back to Ashley found another chair with the assistance again from Alfredo and Javon. We also purchased a couch with recliners on the end. We purchased the extended Warranty for the couch as well. The wonderful thing about the 5 year extended warranty is if you end up not using the warranty then at the end of the 5 years you will receive that money back from Ashley. The customer service from Alfredo and Javon was exceptional. The only complaint is it is going to take 2 weeks to get the new chair and couch, but that is not Alfredo or Javon's fault. The recline portion of chair stopped working again 2 days after we ordered the new one and then one day later started working again. Thank goodness at this time it is working so my husband is able to sleep. Hopefully it will continue to work till the new one arrives. I would recommend Ashley to anyone. We stopped onto this Ashley Furniture location the other weekend to browse for some pieces for our new home and had such an unpleasant experience. The salesman was incredibly annoying, chatty and would barely leave us alone to discuss what we were looking at. He kept interjecting with random questions to fill the silence, leaving us with zero space to talk between the two of us. I regret not saying anything to him at the time. I get that they are trying to make a sale and form a relationship with the potential customer, but this was just simply obnoxious. It was very pushy and off putting. Even if we did want to purchase something, he wouldn't leave us alone for 2 minutes to discuss it. It was such an unfortunate experience. We won't plan to go back. read more

I had the single worst purchasing experience I have ever had in my entire life. I will forever and always now strongly suggest friends, family and others in my network never ever purchase from Ashley in the future. Needed two sofa sets for our new home. Went in and had a lovely interaction with a sales rep. We settled on two sets. They were delivered. On delivery day we immediately noticed the one set was not going to work in our space. We told the delivery driver we did not want this couch and would like to return/exchange. He said we could not do that and if we wanted to we have to "sign and deal with the store". That didn't seem right (obviously), so while he was standing there we tried contacting customer service. As many other reviews state, we couldn't get hold of a live person. As we stood there trying to get hold of anyone, the driver becme increasingly frustrated and borderline aggressive. He shoved the i-pad in our face and said I'm not leaving until you sign. We were literally in the middle of our move and said fine, and signed. We'd go through the store as he said. Obviously this was a huge mistake--but also I didn't even feel safe- it was awful. That's when the real hell started. Store said too bad....you signed. It's your problem. We called multiple times a day to try to find someone who would listen. Store manager was very kind and appeared to have tried, but ultimately did nothing and didn't reach anyone. FINALLY my husband got a rep on the phone who listened to our experience and allowed an exchange. We went to the store and selected another couch. We were told it would be ready within a few days. Nope. Turns out it was on backorder and no one told us. We sat with the couch we didn't want in our new house for almost 2 months. 2 months. Oh! And we ordered an ottoman......that never came. We weren't charged for it, so that's good, but seriously the order wasn't even placed correctly. I can speak to quality of our basement sectional that is attached by what looks like ribbons....it moves constantly. I can't believe I'm learning this late in life how horrible Ashley Furniture is. I am really disappointed with this Ashley homestore location I've purchased my furniture over 2 months ago was told due to COVID they are running behind but can get the furniture to me in 6 weeks. Well guess what? 6 weeks later , not even a phone call!! I call them, customer service people who e no idea!! I walk into store, they have no idea but send me home telling me they will look into it and call me back Guess what!! I call back After trying to call about 5 times , Linda answers. Spent few days on the phone to get it fixed, few weeks after received a table in the preferred color, but damaged. Delivery guys made pictures upon the delivery of the damaged table and told me to keep it as they cannot help. Called multiple times to the Customer Service, without any luck. Every time they are telling that someone will reach you and nobody does. Got in touch with the store manager Berenice and salesman Tim, they are telling same thing that someone will suppose to call me. No call, no emails. Paid money and received damaged items. I bought furniture here awhile ago, and have come to realize that the salesman I worked with lied to me. I asked them a direct question on whether or not the furniture was made out of real, solid wood. I was told that it was, multiple people were with me and can confirm this. I've since found out that this very expensive furniture is actually made out of "engineered" or "manufactured" wood that is nowhere near as durable. My furniture has cracked and warped in different sections over time revealing what's really underneath the surface. It's essentially a veneer over poorly made artificial wood. This was my first furniture buying experience so I did not know any better and trusted their word. This is extremely disappointing and dishonest behavior on their part. This unfortunately makes the furniture incredibly overpriced for its quality and I cannot recommend anyone to shop here. If you're going to take shortcuts on quality, the least you can do is be up front with customers who would have otherwise been willing to invest more on the real thing. read more

I am writing this review for two separate experiences & transactions we had with Ashley Furniture as a whole. Both furniture purchases were through the Bolingbrook, IL location. The staff at this location was friendly for both purchases but due to the warehouse, delivery and customer service experience, I will NOT be doing business with Ashley Furniture again. Their furniture is cheaply made- especially for the price. Their bedroom furniture is not a long term furniture choice and chips easily. Our bed frame was assembled without support beams. Once they've made the sale and you hand over your money, you're on your own. October 2018: We purchased and financed the Effie bedroom furniture set. We bought a queen bed frame with storage drawers underneath, two nightstands and a 6 drawer dresser. Our salesman we had during our experience were extremely nice and to the point. We knew exactly what we wanted and it was an easy process. We were told about the Ashley financing and incentives but we ended up using the Progressive Leasing service instead. Our salesman was not pushy about the Ashley financing and accepted that we were not interested. I was very impressed with their knowledge and explanations of the leasing vs financing through Ashley options. We were extremely happy until months later when we bought a new mattress from Ashley Furniture. Both of our backs were hurting so we bought a new mattress even though the current one was purchased in August of 2018 via another furniture store. My brother looked at our queen bed set because I complained that our mattress was sinking in already and wanted to get it all set up for our new mattress delivery. Turns out, our bed frame was missing critical assembly pieces per the manual I found online- SUPPORT BEAMS & 8 screws so the slats assembled were sliding and bent. I called Ashley as soon as we discovered this (months later) & experienced the worst customer service I've had in my entire my life (no exaggeration) via the corporate headquarters. I was extremely calm and explained the situation. I said we were missing pieces for our furniture and asked if the warehouse would have any parts we would be able to pick up. They diminished me and actually YELLED at me because it over a year later that we realized. They said why are you calling about this now, you should have known when they assembled it. There is a reason I paid for delivery and assembly service, I am trusting Ashley's brand to deliver the product I ordered and assemble it correctly. It was never brought to our attention at the time of delivery and assembly. Turns out, they hire out delivery / assembly service. The store manager couldn't help us after my customer service phone call, I was told it was out of their hands. We ended up buying our own parts and building a frame to support our mattress for about $40. 2nd April 2021: We purchased a Tempur-Pedic mattress. Our saleswoman was EXTREMELY helpful and informative. I know it's a sale at the end of the day but she really went above and beyond to make sure we were making the right choice for the price and explaining the different models and benefits. They offered a 90 no questions asked trial period for our mattress if we bought the $300 cooling cover for our Tempur-Pedic. I thought it was a lot at first but it was worth every penny spent and love the cover and mattress. I've had zero back pain since we switched to the new mattress. This time they were pushy with the Ashley financing. It was not 0% interest and we wanted to pay in full but they kept pushing it as well at the mattress department manager. Our delivery was scheduled on a Tuesday with window of 6 hours & I took off of work to be home. 15 minutes before the cutoff, I called for a status update. The mattress never made it on the truck for delivery. I understand mistakes happen and the transportation manager was extremely apologetic. We live about 10 miles from the distribution warehouse but they wanted to reschedule it for the following week. It was a mattress so it was urgent that we received our delivery ASAP. They delivered it first thing Thursday morning. I waited quite a while to post this review but after thinking on it, I wanted to inform other consumers that could be considering Ashley Furniture. As I've seen in other reviews, I wish I had seen existing reviews before visiting Ashley's store in Bolingbrook, IL. Wife and I visited the store and made a purchase of over $7,500. One of the items in the purchase was a floor rug. It was the only item that was "out of stock" and not available until February. Receipt of purchase lists scheduled deliver of rug with a date in early February. All other furniture items would arrive together on an earlier date. No worries we thought and we agreed, since the rug would arrive well before a large family gathering we are scheduling to hold in mid February. Well, the day after our furniture sans rug arrived, we received a call that the rug we ordered was delivered to the store but we had to pick it up. That was not part of the agreement and not what is noted on the sales order. We asked, since one of the furniture items delivered was slightly damaged and was already scheduled to be replaced by delivery in a few days, could the rug be delivered with it. CSR rep said, "great idea, let me check" and put us hold ... unfortunately, when she returned she stated the store Manager, Javon, said no, we had to come pick it up. Upset and rather confused we traveled to the store and met Javon. He stated, apathetically I might add, that our rug was there the whole time: it was the display rug on the floor that we saw when we made our selection, a rug visibly well traveled on with clearly visible worn spots, etc. While he offered a discount on the rug we thought out loud why would we want to purchase a worn rug along with all the other new items? We also noted to him why did your Assistant Manger Ash, and the sales rep that assisted us, Alfredo, allow us to go forward with ordering the rug and scheduling a delivery if the rug, with no explanation, was only available vis-a-vis the one on the floor? He had no explanation and simply stated he can either give us a discount and take it or we can cancel the order of the rug. Seeing this looked like a clear example of a 'bait and switch' to us and we were not at all interested in a used and worn rug we decided to cancel the order and went and purchased a floor rug elsewhere. We picked furniture along the rug based on our preference of how they all matched each other and fit in our home decor. My husband and I purchased a sectional couch, it was received a couple months later and after 1 month the seat cushions look like they've been used for years despite flipping them ALL THE TIME - no support at all. Also, if my husband and I sit in the same area, you hear wood creaking (I'm assuming not real wood) so I'm worried as to how this will hold up with 2 young children. We had never bought new furniture before but wanted to spend the money in anticipation of our second baby thinking that we were right to make a big purchase that would last. It has now been 2 months and even I (a young healthy person) have trouble getting off of the couch because I have to climb out of it with a newborn in my arms. They said this is not their issue and it is normal for a couch to wear out! 2 months!! I'm wishing I just saved money and bought someone's old couch online! I wish I could leave 0 stars. This store is absolutely horrible to work with. And whatever you do, DO NOT purchase their insurance coverage on your furniture. It is a complete rip off! I reported 2 stains at 1 time. (You have 30 days to report). One stain on 10/15 and one stain on 10/31. These were both reported on 11/4. If my math is right that is within the 30 days. They told me I needed to report each incident at separate times and now because there is 2 stains on the couch, it is considered accumulation and not covered. The customer service people keep repeating their-self. And they don't understand anything you try to explain. Awful awful awful awful. Go somewhere else, save yourself the headache. read more

On November 14, 2021, My husband and I came into the Bolingbrook location excited to buy our first bedroom set purchase! I understand right now due to COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the supply chain for furniture, as well as delivery times are longer as listed on the copy of the receipt! We told the floor consultant that we will be moving due to military purposes in March and do they think that would be an issue on delivery, she absolutely not that it should be delivered by then since the Bolingbrook is a big distribution site. Us being young, this being our first adult purchase, and excited we decided to go for it! 1. Your floor consultant gave us a mattress protector that is worth $399 , then proceeded to tell us it was included since we were buying our mattress from the store. 2. Your consultant also made me feel like the only choice of payment was the Ashley card, until after she ran my credit and said oh there was another option, you could of done like a layaway type of deal. 3. She said I had to put something down so I ended up debating $478.00. Fast forward to two weeks ago. Kept calling and asking where our furniture was because we are leaving, and they said it wouldn't be delivered till the end of March or April if I was lucky. I asked to try and transfer the order to Arizona, since we have been waiting for a while, and that couldn't be done. My only choice was to cancel the order. I was just devastated and frustrated at this point. When I called to have the $478.00 refunded, they informed me that the mattress protector that I was told was included was why I wasn't going to get my refund back and the consultant lied. Ashley told me that even though its in the packaging and never taken out of the box I can't return it. If I would have known I was paying for it I would have never received it and took it out of the store. I am SO disappointed in Ashley Bolingbrook location. Dining set delivered yesterday and notice that chairs rock back and forth due to having uneven legs. One leg is shorter than the other a 3 of 6 chairs. Immediately contacted Ashely furniture in which I was informed that after delivery, I have to go throught proper procedure to have 3rd party tech come to adjust. How do you adjust wooden chair legs? Technician schedule was unavailable as of today. Need to wait as Ashley will not stand behind products until technician reviews. Table top has a quarter size spot where stain is missing. read more

Terrible customer service and lack of organization! I honestly don't understand how they're still in business. Please take your furniture needs to somewhere else. We purchased a sofa set only to be notified after they delivered half of it, that the rest of the couch was discontinued! NO ONE cared to inform us and we would've waited until November for a couch we bought in August to know that it was not being delivered. We found this out after we called to inquire on the estimated delivery date! Yesterday a chair was delivered to my home for me to assemble, they put the chair inside and left in a hurry. When my husband and I unwrapped the chair, screws were sticking out and the bottom was not put together. I called the customer service number immediately and was told I could not get my money back. Furthermore, I asked if they could come get the broken chair and they said no. I understand delays, but I've been waiting since 7/12/21 for my Next-Gen DuraPella 3-Piece Dual Power Reclining Sectional. They've had use of my $3,800 for almost 9 months. The purchase order stated "6-8 weeks." Every month, I'm told it will be another month. It FINALLY sounded like a legitimate delivery date for 3/21, and just got a message it will be 4/21. It's always 10/21, 11/21, 12/21.... I'm always so excited thinking it will finally be here. I'd promised my existing furniture to someone moving into a new home, and now they also have no furniture. I think the worse thing is that for the first many months, we never received a call, and had to reach out ourselves. No one was answering their store phone. Then, they started giving us dates that came and went. I normally don't do reviews but..... I purchased a new bedroom set and new mattress from Dan (Manager) at the Bolingbrook store on 6/28/20 with a delivery date of 7/31/20. The actual experience in the store was fine. It is the experience of still trying to get what I ordered delivered. On 7/18 I received a text message stating that my order was going to be delayed until 8/19. Then on 7/28 I received an email telling me that my items were set to be delivered on 7/31 and to confirm. So before I confirmed, I decided to call and find out what was going on...well that took hours of continual calling and sitting on hold for 30-40 minutes at a time. The person I spoke with in delivery told me that all I was going to get a partial order which did not include the mattress....but that the mattress would be available along with a couple of the other items by 8/3/2020 so I rescheduled my order to be delivered until 8/5/2020 which I thought would ensure they would have what they said they were going to deliver and it gave me time to have someone pick up my old bedroom furniture (which I had done on 8/3)....well guess what nothing was delivered on 8/5 and now here I am on 8/21 still sleeping on the floor. I then again went through the exhausting task of trying to contact customer service and the only thing they told me was to contact the store. I told them that I have dialed the store's number multiple times but it is the same message as if I called the 1-800 number. They told me I needed to press #3 to get through to the store. Well what a treat that is, because the phone rings, no one answers and after 6 rings, it disconnects you. I finally, on 8/6, had to drive to the store to be able to speak to anyone. The person that is in the office at the store is off on Tuesdays & Wednesdays and no one else will answer the phones when she is not there. She very kindly assisted me, we set up another delivery date of 8/13 and that did not happen because somehow, the items that were ready the week before, they didn't have the following week, I was still going to get the bed frame and NO MATTRESS. Again I went through the same hassles as before and finally got a hold of the lady at the store and she checked again and she advised that there were truckloads received by Ashley and that everything should be ready and we scheduled yet another deliver date of 8/22. I then received a text message on 8/18 telling me that I would have to rescheduled until the following week (8/29). So, I again tried calling the store....but because it was Tuesday and Wednesday, NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE. So, again, I had to drive to the store on Thursday (8/20) just to talk to someone. Oh and while going to the store, I then received an email from Ashley confirming delivery for 8/22 with the delivery window time. When I arrived at the store on 8/20, the office person was there, but Dan the manager was not. She told me now what was available to deliver on 8/22 (which was different yet again) but still NO MATTRESS. I said what good is a bed without a mattress. I basically told them that I didn't care what they had to do, but I wanted the bed and mattress on Saturday, With that, she called Dan, the manager, and told him what was going on and what I had said. His reply was "well that is never going to fucking happen". I guess she shouldn't had him on speaker. She advised me that she forwarded him all of my information and that he would be in contact with me regarding the mattress. Still have not heard from him. I received another call from Ashley delivery telling me what pieces they were delivering on 8/22 and that there will not be a mattress and the pieces they are delivering are different than I was told by the store. So again, I spent hours calling the store to see why no one had contacted me and they never answered. I tried calling Corporate, no one answered and all of the phones just disconnect. I will never, never order from Ashley Furniture again and will definitely not recommend them to anyone and they will definitely hear about the poor customer service I have received. I don't understand how you can have my order one time, and another time the pieces are different. The only thing consistent has been a bed frame. I have never been so disappointed by any company that I have ordered from. Your sales personnel should know how long it will take to get items. They also should have known that it was going to be this difficult to get a mattress. I would have waited to buy a new one until a later time or not have gotten rid of mine. All I can hope for is that the when the furniture finally arrives that it is not as disappointing as this whole experience has been. You need to better train your customer service staff. They cannot or will not answer any questions. There only answer is I don't know, contact your store or contact corporate. Well GOOD LUCK with that. read more

Ashley furniture has the most horrible customer service. every time i call they want to say a supervisor will call me back. no one ever calls me back the store manager and sales person completely lie about furniture being in stock and being delivered within a timely manner yet there turns out to be nothing in stock. i will never buy ashley again read more

I bedroom furniture finally got delivered after a first attempt failed due to missing parts. We originally purchased the furniture on 3/5/23 and we had to wait for delivery which was on 3/21/23 but upon arrival furniture was missing a part or pieces. Due to a language barrier with the driver we didn't understand what he was saying and we refused delivery. Ashley initially wanted us to wait even longer for the replacement furniture to be delivered but with endless emails and the kindness of Lorenzo Ashley was able to schedule delivery for 3/25/23. We were glad to see the furniture arrived but unfortunately it arrived damaged. Driver phoned in damage and person on phone stated Ashley will call you within 2 days well needless to say we never received a call. I followed up and called Ashley's yesterday and basically got the same response, Ashley will call you within 2 days. I would not recommend shopping at Ashley's. Horrible experience to say the least. Horrible. Worst customer service ever. I've bought other things and no complaints but when something does go wrong....you won't get help. THANK GOD I did not buy all additional furniture when I was in there this weekend again. It's been TWO MONTHS since I got a defective bed in. Followed all instructions and called right away. Only solution was to have a tech come out and attempt to fix it but that was over a month out. Called endless times, asked to speak to supervisors to which they told me each time someone would call back and NOTHING. Well the 'fix' day finally came and guess what...no call no show. I call back...same thing all over. Here I am after 3 more calls this week and nothing. Still have a bed I am not using. No way to speak to a supervisor. Nobody to help other than tell me to email them pictures. The same pictures i've sent 3 times already. Oh and when I did think I might get someone that could help...they would disconnect the call. Never call back. I'm so over it. About to load up the bed and drop it at their store's doorstep and drive off. So disappointing. Had so much on my list I wanted to get from them. read more

Horrible horrible customer service!! Along with poorly made furniture. Have a damaged table that they refuse to replace and REFUSE to have anyone even look at it. It's not even a month old and the SECOND one we have had as the first set had broken chairs!!! Have spoke with customer service over 15 times and keep getting the run around. Went back to the store and the manager told us not his problem call customer service. We have an extended warranty that ASHLEY FURNITURE sold us and the warranty company says they won't cover as the table is still under the one year manufacturer warranty. NO-ONE will take responsibility for this damaged table that we have paid for!!! I have never been treated so horrible by customer service in my life and by the management at the Bolingbrook store is awful and rude. We have been told for over a week that someone from the actual store will call us and of course that has not happened. We have filed with the BBB at this point! All we wanted was a new table as this is the second damaged piece that they have sent us. We've been patient and nothing but nice and just wanted an exchange and the whole company had treated us like dirt. Only reason I even gave a star is because I couldn't post review without. Keylin and Eric were both great helping me pick out my furniture. I told them my budget and they helped me out, I didn't have to ask Keylin for a deal..she was already willing to give a discount because she seen that I really liked the set. Eric also showed me options that would be in my budget and those that weren't. They weren't very pushy at all, which I liked. They made me feel comfortable to leave and think about my purchase and come back to actually purchase. Store was clean and staffed, however I did notice everyone didn't greet me as I was walking through the showroom. Not that I'm princess Diana, but you never know if someone needs help. I'm giving 4/5 because I was told all I had to do was call to get a refund for my furniture insurance that I no longer needed. But when I called they told me I had to come in, but I didn't live in the area. Julie was very helpful with working with me to get my refund later even after I took it off the invoice. 4/5 also because I was told I wouldn't be able to find a foam mattress in my budget. But I actually went online and found a foam mattress exactly at my budget and I love it. But overall great service, I would recommend to others. read more

Our sales person was great, but the delivery of our loveseat was delayed over a month. We were not told and only found out when we called the general customer service number to check on status. We were on a deadline, so had to cancel the order and were charged a cancellation fee. My main complaint is their communication post-purchase is terrible. You cannot get in touch with anyone in the store... you would have to go in to see someone. read more

Bought a coffee table in store in February, after half an hour of paperwork (? don't know why so much, I wasn't financing) was told its on back order will come in July. In to deep to walk at this point so okay. July 1st I call for status, after 20 min waiting for agent I get told can't find my order, finally15 minutes later they found the order and it had been cancelled in June because the table was discontinued? No one said anything or sent a refund, it was only because I called. So fine, he will issue a refund, it will take 7 - 10 days. two weeks later and nothing so I call. 20 minutes waiting for an agent, 20 minutes for them to find and evaluate my order, and refund was never submitted. They will submit and it will be 7 - 10 days. ;-( They are either a rip off, or they are just so disorganized on every front that they really should not be trusted with your business. read more
