Brand new couch was delivered Nov 7th. Damaged. In multiple spots. I refused the couch. They said they could exchange it for another Dec. 6th. Annoying but at least they're willing to exchange it right? New couch for exchange comes today. DAMAGED IN THE EXACT SAME SPOTS BUT WORSE AND DOESNT EVEN SIT FLAT ON THE FOOR. Not to mention my now cracked and damaged wood flooring from the workers dropping the old couch on the way out. Awesome. Goodness gracious, what horror stories! But...there are NO fucking other places I can find to buy a teenage sons new bedroom set! Anyways, went to the northridge and burbank location (each 2x). They pretty much have the same shit. I agree with yelpers that you arent left alone the second you walk in. They follow you and talk and talk and talk while you're just trying to take a look at WTF they have. Some are more agressive than others. Forget the pricing. They might as well write in it Mandarin or Swahili as it is confusing, you dont know what item is what (a bed without the mattress...separate price for headboard, panels, frame etc geez just write ONE damn price for it who the fuck would by a bed frame in separate pieces?) Then the mattress issue....they screw you big time on the mattress prices and dont offer as deep "discounts" on the furniture you purchase if you leave without the mattress. Its very confusing, and I have had less discomfort at car dealerships. As soon as I said teenage kids bedroom set, the northridge location saleslady asked if I am going to need a warranty on the mattress. Who the fuck would ask that before Ive even SEEN anything, let alone the mattress? Also, their better prices include a very standard mattress that will probably cave-in within a few years. We decided to pay the outrageous price of $1800 for a tempurpedic because its coil-less; dont have to worry about coils and shit boinging and popping over time and doesnt need to be changed out every 5-10 years, and my son loved laying on it. The furniture (bed frame, chest, tax, set-up delivery) was $800 more, so clearly They sell-off the furns at smaller margins and dick your clueless ass on the mattress prices, starting at a grand for anything barely sleepable on. You could (and I thought of this later) get the mattress separately, but then they dont discount the furny as much, and this particular brand (of course) is same price anywhere, fixed. I checked, they are right about that, its a mafioso typa thing the tempurpedics. Of course if you dont care and sleep on anything easily, you could get their shitty standard bed and wouldnt have these issues. Luigi helped us in the Burbank location. He's nice, but again they really try to push the tempurpedic mattress here to get you " a better deal". But unfortunately it is the best one and others not even close; I caved in for those reasons not because what they tried to push it. Delivery could not have gone smoother unlike the nightmares I read here.... repeatedly sent me texts about the time frame (acceptable 4 hour window 8-12) arrived at 830, were done in less than 1 hour taking the items upstairs and assembling so good time and nothing was damaged or chipped either way. After over a year of dealing with customer service for a broken couch, broken end table, and scratched coffee table, Ashley finally fixed our couch but still has yet to replace the coffee table or the end table. Actually, they did replace the end table...with one that isn't flat. We figured that's better than broken, but still needs replaced. No matter how many times we call, we get placed on hold for over 30 minutes, sometimes well over an hour. When appointments are scheduled, they do not show up on time. Overall, this is a terrible company to deal with and we will never purchase from them again. Save yourself the headaches and go somewhere else. Literally anywhere else. read more

I have been a customer for over 6 years . I placed an order . Delivery date was scheduled for dec 26 they rescheduled for dec 27 which I had no issue with . No delivery was made in dec 27 . They left me a voicemail saying that delivery was reschedule for January 26 a month later . I kept calling the store , they kept telling me the manager was going to call me back . Never got a call back . I went to the store . I went upstairs to customer service asked for a free delivery because of the inconvenience . The manager James ruizo approached and told the lady helping me to cancel my order because he wasn't going to give me a free delivery just because I want it to . Not only does his attitude stinks . He couldn't address the issue or find a solution. All I can say is buyers beware. While some aspects of the experience including the sales person were not bad others are examples of the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Like many others we purchased several pieces and the prices seemed ok. The salesman was nice and we were out the door quickly. All seemed fine until they decided to deliver (3 weeks later). On the intial delivery date they were 4 hours late and finally arrived at 10pm. At first glance everything looked good so we were ready to just live with it. In the light of day though we noticed that the main seam on the center of the couch was sewn crooked and it didn't line up with the cushions. So we spoke to the store and they agreed to replace it. Stuff happens what are you going to do. Once again delivery was set up and they were running late calling every hour on a saturday to tell us they would be there soon. The NEVER showed up. Saturday shot. Many calls with a horrible trucking company, pleasant sales manager and worthless Manager Armen we set it up for another day (on their schedule of course). For some reason this company is held hostage by a 3rd party delivery service. Again they were late so I cancelled the whole order and told them to pick up all the items. They agreed and gave me a full refund which was my only option at that point. But in another incompetent move they were even late to pick up all the items by about 3 hours. So all told I spent 21 hours waiting and ended up with nothing. Which in the long run makes me happy because I would much rather spend more than give this worthless excuse for a business a single dime. This franchisee owns all the Ashleys around SoCal. So expect the same from all. Oh and after the whole ordeal was over we went to Living Spaces and saw one of the same pieces for half price. And that was their full retail. I couldn't even bring myself to by it though because the thoughts of Ashley Furniture would come to me everytime I looked at it and I would probably have a heart attack from anger. I was looking at the website and found some things that may interest me but no prices on the website. So I called, they will not give prices over the phone. That is just so weird to me. So one day I was in the area and stopped by. You are approached as soon as you walk by a sales person who handed me a sales flier and asked what I was looking for. Also the store is not broken down by rooms, so everything is all over the place. The style of their selection is mostly for families, what I call a bedroom community type. They really do not have anything modern so forget about post modern as I know it. The prices vary by collections and so does the quality. An example is one dresser I looked over did not have any real hardware but used something I see in Ikea product all the time. Just a piece of wood glued at the bottom and in the middle to guide the drawer. This will work as long as you do not keep heavy items in the drawer. While another one had hardware on both sides to guide the drawer more smoothly and help with weight distribution. You will find a huge selection of those big Lazy Boy type chairs, nothing I am interested in. The couches are huge! I asked about the prices and one of the young sales ladies explained they are instructed not to give out any pricing over the phone or online. This smells to me like high pressure sales tactics. They certainly have plenty of sales people. I did not see anything I liked, no plans to return in the future. read more

After two weeks come the delivery date driver shows up and tells us that certain pieces are on back order. Not acceptable you don't tell your customers that your order is on back order the day of the delivery in front of your home. Sent them packing back. Call CS and they were no help. Go down to the store and I'm not kidding you there was literally about 20 other furious customers who were on the same boat. That's not the end, now we have to wait 15 days to get our money back, what kind of a return policy is that. After further research I find out that Ashley Furniture was sued not to long ago about lying to their customers on selling fake leather. I'm glad we chose Ashley's furniture, our sales associate Richard Gomez made the experience very pleasant. The impressions my fiance and I had while shopping here were the same as the previous comments. This would be a nice place to shop if it weren't for the pushy sales staff and lack of customer service. From the minute we walked in the door, we were greeted by the sales team, who then seem to follow along in our general direction wherever we went. If we stopped even for a minute near one of the furniture collections, the representative immediately materialized to play up the merits of that piece and remind us (again) about their financing options. It sounds like this must be an exaggeration, but we visited twice and received the same pushy treatment from two or three members of the sales team. We actually wound up writing down the serial codes of the pieces of furniture we liked, then buying them on Amazon to avoid having to deal with the actual people in the store. read more

I bought furnitures for over $5000, the store manager at the time convinced to buy a 5 years protection plan with Guardsman company for $259, he said it's really a good deal... What ever happened to the furnitures any damages or any stains they come to your home and fix it. So when my couch was ripped and had coffee stain I called Guardsman to take care of it ... I went through lots of calls long waiting lots of emails and pictures for over a month then they send an email saying my service is denied I am not qualified for the service. Then I sent an email for Ashley Burbank never bother to reply... Tried to call them and leave my number to talk a manager for two weeks until finally I get hold of him and he said we no longer deal with Guardsman so nothing I can do for you. BS read more

Would like to give them zero stars. I went in to buy a recliner that also did massage as I have back and legs problems. They had only one chair to offer. I was okay so I decided to buy. But when they went to look up by account (I have a Synchrony card for them) the guy could not find my account. They wanted 2 forms of id-my drivers license was good my Veterans Administration id was not. They wanted a credit card. So I gave them my Wescom credit card and my East West Debit card. Because the guy could not find my account he wanted my social security number and they found my account and the salesman walked away leaving the note with my social security number on it lying on the counter. I picked it up and took it with me otherwise it would have been lying there for anyone to get. The salesman then went back to another computer and asked about delivery of the chair. I told him it had to be before 12 noon or after 5-can't do that. Why not, just can't. Everytime I have bought things at Ashley I have thought I overpaid and the use of the Synchrony car has been a hassle and with the can't deliver when I wanted them to not being doable I was getting pissed. After a few more back and forth with him he wanted a deposit of $100 on delivery fees. This was something I have never paid there before. I easily could have paid the $100 in cash, with my debit or credit card but I was pissed and told them to cancel the whole thing. I am quite certain I can find a better deal on a the chair I want somewhere else and won't have to go through their hassle. I will not shop there ever again, nor will I recommend them to anyone. I probably should have checked the BBB site where they have a 1-star review. I am paying the stupid tax for not. The sales staff was great so no problem there. Again, the staff is great. It is just one large Ponzi scheme, however. They take your full payment, and then you don't get the furniture. Mine passed the 1-month late mark (A total of 7-weeks from the purchase date) with no way to track anything so I decided to cancel. Since the couch we ordered was MIA. 3-times so far I have tried to cancel. Yes, the first time it wasn't processed. Went into the store and canceled a 2nd time. Called today and they said the review of my cancellation has not been done yet. Hmm. So when do I get my $3,000 back that Ashley's is using to pay their rent and employees? It seems like the government needs to look into why they need "full payment" of furniture that is never shipped and why it is so hard to get a refund/cancel. Seems like they are floating the customer's money to pay their bills and when they get another $3,000 to replace mine they will credit me back. I wish I could post pics to show you how badly our couches look after only 4 years. All the pleather is peeling and big pieces of foam are exposed. We bought the 5 year warranty through Ashley and the company that owns the warranty refused to honor it even when there was a 12 inch piece of foam exposed. Don't buy from Ashley! This is a horrible company. The package prices seem good, but once the furniture is delivered, it is beyond terrible quality. The delivery guys themselves admitted it. I was so un-satisfied with my purchase, I came in not even an hour after it was delivered and asked to speak with a manager. The first thing he told me was no refunds. He didn't even want to hear what I had to say about my purchase. With big purchases like this, you would think companies would want to work with their customers and make them satisfied with their purchase so they could recommend to others.Ashley furniture does not care one bit about their customers and all they do is rip them off and charge expensive prices from very poor quality furniture. Here is my experience at Ashley's Furn in timeline form. 9 November: * Purchased Dining Room, Living room, bedroom furniture, mattress, pillows, delivery, warranty and misc.. * Paid for delivery which is not available not available until 20 November. 20 November: * Confirmed afternoon delivery, took 1/2 day off work * Bed frame damaged and not accepted. Dining room table drawer broken, accepted. Dining room chair damaged, accepted. 21 November: * Was informed new table drawer ordered, and tech will be out to repair chair 22 November 22 November: * Take 1/2 day off work * Tech arrives and repairs chair scratch, informs me that new drawer will be ordered and arrive in 10 to 21 days. ??? Was already told it was ordered on the 21st.??? 24 November: * Received text that replacement bed will be delivered 27 November 27 November: * Took 1/2 day off for afternoon delivery (between noon and 4) * Called 602 area code Ashley main number 3 times between noon and 3:30, each time they confirmed that delivery is still happening although may be "a half hour late at the most" * Called a fourth time at 5pm. Was informed that the delivery was cancelled, they could not tell me why and why no one bothered calling me to inform me of this. They only said "the lady at the local dispatch" was he only one who could do that and she would call me on Friday. 29 November: * Lady from local dispatch called to set up re-schedule Ashley cancelled delivery of bed again. I asked why it was cancelled and she informed me that she did not know why and it must have been a "corporate delivery thing". After asking her a few questions about how sure she was it would not be cancelled again she informed me that she was the only one who can change this local delivery. I confronted her about this and asked her why if she is the only one who can cancel this in the system how come she cancelled it on the 24th and decided not to call me (the customer sitting at home waiting) and then asked her why she lied to me on the beginning about not knowing anything about the initial cancellation. No answer for these questions of course. * New delivery date was set for 4 December 3 December: * Replacement drawer for dining room table arrived in the mail. * It was the wrong drawer * Called Ashley Furn, they acknowledged wrong drawer was sent and correct one will be ordered and sent to me. She will "rush it" I am told that this will be 10 days instead of 14 days plus. Rush ??? 4 December: * Took another 1/2 day off and even had to cancel a Dr. apt because delivery was set between 8:30 and noon * Driver showed up with replacement bed. * Driver informed me that the boxes were "really torn up" when he picked them up and would need to inspect them before bringing it in the house. * The box and the actual bed frame were demolished and could not be accepted. Why would they not check it when they saw the boxes were all messed up when they were loading it. * 4 hours after the driver left I am back at work and still awaiting to hear form Ashley regarding new delivery of bed for the 4th time. * Called local store (888-956-4663), SE 82nd Ave, 15 minutes on hold, routed to Arizona call center, transferred to local store, on hold 10 minutes, routed to Wisconsin call center, transferred to local store. Spoke to employee who answered phone, asked for manager, on hold for 5 minutes, employee comes back on and informs me that mgr. is in meeting and will call me back on my cell. Ashley Furniture.......we've bought items from there since it opened. We just recently bought a sofa. Both Ashley and we are in Fairfield, NJ, yet they decide to warehouse their products in Edison, NJ...okay...but why charge us $160 for delivery but Raymour and Flannigan - a higher end furniture store literally next to Ashley can somehow deliver to Fairfield for less than half that cost. No matter.....the sofa was to be delivered Tuesday....I told the salesperson I couldn't accept morning delivery any day that week but he assured me it wouldn't be a morning delivery. So meanwhile we paid "Got Junk?" over $100 to remove our old sofa. So over the weekend I get a confirmation email for a 9:30-1pm delivery...either confirm or...well, there was no second choice........so we called this morning to see if we could come to a compromise on receiving the sofa NOT IN THE MORNING.....both the Ashley store and corporate....both have the same dialogue memorized word for word which essentially said ....nope...no changes in delivery UNLESS we want to pay an additional $100 to change the delivery date. What has become of the way American Industries do business? Don't they plan ahead for repeat business? We ended up cancelling the order. read more

Please - avoid this furniture store if you can and if you can't DON'T bother purchasing their warranty. The warranty does not cover the cheap material their couches are covered in. I purchased love seat and couch in 2011 and the entire couch is peeling, it was their "durablend" leather/vinyl blend couch in brown and it is the cheapest product I own. We paid over $1500 for both and I regret ever wasting my money. We also purchased the warranty 5 year plan and it doesn't cover the peeling. It's considered normal "wear" on the couch. BS! The back of the couch is even peeling in the creases so it's not "normal" for this type of wear. We recommended Ashley's in 2011 to friends and family and they too are having issues with their couches having cheap material that is tearing. They don't deserve a single star. The staff in the store are only helpful if you are buying a piece of furniture, otherwise they give you the round-about and try to avoid you at all cost. Purchased a couch and love seat and when it arrived at my house it reeked. The chemicals from it was so bad that it gave everyone at home headaches and made us all feel ill. The return policy for the furniture place is horrible and the manger wouldn't let us return it. In response to the smell staff just told us to open our windows and wait it out. We had already been doing that and the smell was still strong. Kept calling about it and they kept avoiding me. We were on a budget and he guided us to items that would fit our means. He also led us to a GREAT deal that not only gave us the couch we were seeking but also a whole set with 2 end tables, a coffee table, rug, lamps, throw blanket, and accessories! I've had three separate deliveries with many issues promised by Ali the salesman Ashley store and every time a product comes in it's either backordered or they forgot to order a part very dysfunctional New York corporate office in Burbank dispatch I would not recommend deliveries from Ashley nothing and three different tries have come together poor Logistics on Ashley's part. read more

I guess I should have read the reviews before shopping here because my experience with their ABHORRENT (I am using the strong word choice intentionally) customer service is consistent with what other reviewers have described. I am writing this review fully expecting the store to do nothing about it, but hoping future shoppers will reconsider before visiting this location. PLEASE READ THIS PART: make sure you don't let the delivery person leave until you are fully satisfied with your purchase. The store will not pick up returns/exchanges once the driver leaves. They may, in all their excitement of taking your thousands of dollars, forget to mention this less common, but absolutely crucial policy. I was sold a mattress and given the choice of two different size foundations to choose from, I made a decision in the store and that was that. This was my first time buying a mattress with Ashley. When the delivery showed up and placed my mattress and bed foundation, I immediately remarked that the foundation was not as I had hoped and asked the delivery people if there was another option I could choose. They told me to call the store because there was another option I could choose (a bunkie board, which I was not told was an option) and they rushed out as quickly as they could. The delivery happened at night when the store was closed, so I waited and reached out to my salesperson (Ara) the next morning to let him know that I would like an exchange. He quickly and abruptly let me know that there was nothing he could do for me since the drivers had already left. I was frustrated that he didn't try to work with me or explain anything, so I reached out to the store manager (Mehdi) who told me about the store policy where they don't do exchanges or returns after the delivery had been signed for--this was the first I was hearing about this policy. When I tried to explain to the store manager that I wasn't made aware of the policy and therefore could not have known not to accept the delivery, he didn't care much either. He tried to offer me a $100 gift card to purchase another $200 foundation. I hope understandably, I was extremely frustrated that in the 2 hours I spent at the store signing papers and making a rather sizable purchase, they didn't care to mention this policy even once. I thought I'd try reaching out to corporate for further assistance, but that was a huge joke too. Its now been almost a whole month of me hearing that someone will follow up with me or contact me to try to resolve this, and NOT ONCE has anyone from Ashley Homestore called me. Any interaction I've had is by tracking down numbers and departments on my own and spending time explaining the same story to 4 or 5 different departments, while they passed me on to the next, with no intention of helping resolve anything. With so many other options available, I would try going to a more reputable furniture store to guarantee that you are getting your money's worth. read more

Ashley is our go to for any type of furniture. They have a great selection and awesome prices. Financing is the best. This time around we needed a few things for our vacation rental in Palm Springs. The fact that the items can be delivered there was such a relief. Richard Falcone was very helpful, even measuring different dining tables and taking time to answer all our questions. He was very patient as we kept going back and forth on our choice and never rushed us. He was approachable and knowledgeable and gave us terrific customer service. Thanks, Richard! read more
