This entire experience was terrible. From being rudely greeted at the front, to the sneaky sales associate adding a membership that I didn't want and to the inability to deliver the furniture. To begin, when I arrived, the person at the front asked what I was looking for. When I wasn't exactly sure, I did quickly mention a price range. His response was that the store couldn't help get me anything. Mind you, my price range wasn't fixed, but a recommendation. However, he basically said they couldn't help me. I don't know why I continued in, but I did. By the time a sales associate came to help me, we were able to find something that fit my needs. Now, most importantly was the delivery date. To fit my needs, my options were actually limited to a not preferred option. Well, I went with it because it was more important to get the furniture quicker. During the checkout process, i signed the forms they gave me and wasn't too concerned with the details until I got home and read the receipt. The receipt revealed that I was being charged $300 for delivery and set up. However, $160 was merely for a membership program to the store. I didn't want a membership program and shame on me for not looking and realizing that I was getting charged $300 for the delivery of a $400 piece of furniture. When I called and talked to them about this, they explained it all and I thought, it was OK because at least I was getting the furniture quickly as I needed beds for two foster children that were already at my house. I continue to have questions and try to reach out to the sales associate, and he stopped picking up my phone calls and stopped responding to my text messages, I think because he didn't want to help me anymore. When I finally called the store and asked to speak to the sales associate, instead of calling him directly on the number that he gave me on his business card, When I was connected with the sales associate, he said he wasn't going to do the refund process and I could just refuse delivery. I was trying to change and get a refund on the additional mattresses as someone in my family had a mattress I could have and I didn't need to purchase a new one.Then on the delivery day, the delivery people showed up with no beds and said the beds could not be delivered for some time because they were on backorder. So, so, yes, I had mattresses for the girls to sleep on, on the floor the bedframe, which was not my preferred bedframe, was more expensive than I had wanted to spend, and at a store that had been rude and unwelcoming to me from the beginning, When the bedframe couldn't be delivered for some unknown time, I decided to at that point tell them I didn't want them to come back and I would not like to just work a refund. I will, however, command the delivery guys for their honest and compassionate nature, their sincerity, and their apology for not being able to bring it. I would also like to command the people customer service who worked the refund for me because they were very kind and compassionate as well. However, this store gets a one star, and if I could give it less, I would because everybody from the greeter to the sales associate and the store itself for telling me they could deliver something and hiding the fact it was actually on backorder, was completely lackluster, and by the way, that sneaky membership program, I still have it, because I can't get a refund on it. Update ... still a stronggggg 10/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND We finally received our couch, but it wasn't without ALOT of wasted time on my end and far more effort than anyone should have to put forward when they are paying decent money to purchase a product.. My advice would be to RUN far far away and don't look back.. Over the course 3 months there were a total of: -13 calls to customer service -2 trips to the Norman store (just about an hour of my time round trip) -5 (at least) personal text conversations with Jonas, a store manager -3 delivery dates set up (one time the delivery guys called to tell me we were on the schedule but they didn't actually have a couch to drop off... LOL) After everything was said and done a store manager told me that our account would be partially credited for all of the issues we had.. we texted back and forth in May, June and July where he told me that it was submitted and just needed to be processed.. its now September and we have yet to see anything. read more

Bought leather couch, loveseat and recliner from Ashley 4 wks ago. it was delivered and was the biggest piece of junk. Flaws in every piece!! Picked out totally different furniture the next day. Couch and two recliners. Delivered and one recliner had a tear in leather. Ordered replacement recliner #1. Replacement recliner #1 delivered and seat cushion is messed up. Ordered replacement #2. Replacement #2 came today and they could even attach the back of the recliner because it won't fit on the posts. The posts are not drilled in the same direction. Therefore, we have had them out 4 different times total and are still trying to figure it out. Whoever is responsible for QC/QA at their warehouse is a joke. I believe I have seen every delivery guy they have employed and all those guys were top notch professional and apologetic for the screw ups from warehouse. Take my advice and shop elsewhere unless you are taking it directly from the store! read more

I went to the store and saw what I wanted. I came home and called the salesperson and told him I was ready to make a purchase. He provided me with a ticket order number and phone number to their pay bill hotline. I called and spoke to a nice female. During the process of payment, she stated that she accidentally deleted one of the order number and needed to call my salesperson and will call me back. I waited for hours and no phone call from her. I texted the salesperson and he replied that he will call her in a minute. His so-called "in a minute" turned into 24 hours passed and I still did not get a call from him nor the bill pay staff. The irony here was that I did get a text from Ashley's automated line requesting me to do a review on how they did with the purchase. Humm!! What purchase?? Lol Sure enough, I went to make a review based on what had happened. Within an hour, I got an email from googlembf@mathisbrother.com asking if I could provide evidence. I did forward the email of my ticket order number. Instead of getting a phone call from Ashley's staff, I received another email asking me to call them so they can help get the order. Seriously? Who's in their right mind want to go over the same ordeal again? Out of courtesy, I replied and said no thank you and that I've found myself a better dining table from another place that knows how to run their business professionally. Lies, deception, and misdirection! Caleb and Medi are first class liars out to steal from old ladies like my geriatric mother. Back in early January Caleb sold my mother a protection plan on a mattress cover that she did not need, but he felt it was worth the $129 that it cost her, and he claimed that if we didn't use the protection on the mattress cover that we did not need with the SOFA we purchased, then after the plan was up we could use the $129.00 in store. That's after TEN DAMNED YEARS. That initial purchase however, was cancelled and neither of these two losers made even the slightest effort to notify us that the manufacturer cancelled the order and we no longer could have that sofa we bought. The staff at the Norman store chose to just say screw these people we aren't saying a word! And they sat on their outsized posteriors and did NOTHING until we arrived. When we arrived after that, we were guided to a number of "other" sofas, that were allegedly in stock. Neither of these attentive sales people paid any attention to how weak and slow mom was moving. They would've walked and walked her until she fell, then blamed her for falling. IDIOTS! This is Ashley Furniture's best customer service! Today, 2-1-22 delivery of a new sofa, and new TV stand is supposed to happen. The delivery team arrived, came in to see where they were putting it...and proclaimed they couldn't take the old one away, because it was dirty, and did not smell fresh enough for the greasy, tatted up Mexican Gang Bangers that Ashley sent to our home. They refused to complete the delivery, refused to take away the old stuff despite us paying $300 to have this done. Lying Caleb and Masturbatory Medi never mentioned that everyone is steam cleaning their sofas for the South Side Locos or whoever that riff raff were that came here. At no point did lying Medi and Caleb even mention that you had to have nice, gently used, fresh smelling piece of used, dead furniture the super soft delivery guys. This is Ashley Furniture's best customer service! These delivery guys stood in my yard, making threats and taunts and asking what I was going to do about them tresspassing after both my mother and I had instructed them to leave...until I went and got a rifle and made it clear. They then claimed they would not and could not leave because "they are waiting for the police" and "we will look like pussies if we leave...so fuck no we aren't leaving!". They left after some warning shots, and refused to wait for the police who we called and worked with upon their arrival. This is Ashley Furniture's best customer service! Run! You don't want to use Ashley, nor Mathis Brothers as they are one and the same. But if you find yourself forced to use these places, I would encourage you to refuse to be serviced by lying Medi or Scammer Caleb! If I could give them a negative review, I would. All you have to do is look at their score and see that they are not good! They pretended like they were going to help me but how called me a liar. They tried to say that the damage was by my pets but my pets were not even here when the damage happened. There's NO way they caused it. They just want to get out of taking care of what they should take care of. Since I purchased the additional insurance and I'm not able to use it because they are liars, I have asked for a complete refund of the insurance money. Let's see if they do the right thing with that. My guess is they won't. They want me to pay out of my pocket to repair the damage that was accidental that they're trying to say my pets did. They are trying to say it was on purpose. Seriously? Who would purposely do this? It's just an excuse to get out of paying to repair the damage that should be covered by insurance. What gets me is that they weren't even here when the damage happened. How dare they try to say what did or didn't cause it! I strongly urge you not to use this company because they will not do the right thing. They will do and say whatever they can to get out of doing the right thing. Somebody got a commission on selling insurance that they knew would not cover anything. Oh wait, if one of my dogs peeing on the couch they would repair or replace it. Attempted to purchase a "poof" that you can rest your feet on at this location. For some reason, this store has decided that these need to be hanging from the ceiling and are attached to metal chains. Holes have been sliced into each of the poofs because of this so apparently they sell these things damaged. I still wanted it but they have one person at the store who's designated to take these things down for purchase since they hang about 10 feet in the air. I was told by the associate that was helping me that this person was not on shift and that maybe a manager would be able to take it down for me instead. A few mins later I was told the manager was not interested in taking it down. I figured they weren't interested in my money so I promptly left the store. Horrid customer service. In response to the reply below: The associate I was working with was basically acting as a messenger between myself and the manager on shift (afternoon of Aug 8) who never bothered to explain the situation in-person. I was told by the associate that the manager didn't want to take down the display poof and that I would have to wait until the following Monday for some maintenance person to handle it. The associate also never mentioned being able to order the same poof and I was simply told that the one I wanted was out of stock with the exception of the one that was hanging from the ceiling. We ordered a sofa on March 27th and was told from our Salesman Pierre, it would deliver within 3 weeks. Every time I called to get an updated delivery date, it was pushed back 4-6 weeks. The week of July 11th was the limit for me. A little over 3 months was a little ridiculous to start and then was told it would be another 6 weeks!! DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! Where to begin...My wife and I purchased a bedroom suite last April. At the time of purchase the sales representative assured both of us that the so called protection plan would cover all product defects and any accidents that may occur. I was a bit hesitant because we would be moving to McKinney TX in the upcoming months. The salesman assured me that this wouldn't be a problem, and I would still be able to use the protection plan with out having to make additional payments. Reluctantly, I agreed to the protection plan. Less than a year later one of the side rails on our bed frame completely gave out and the foot end of the mattress was resting on the floor. The stores customer service department, which hung up on me several times, said their was nothing they could do about this issue because "it's a manufacturer's defect" I was told that if I wanted a new bed frame I would have to pay $121 dollar fee for delivery of the new frame and return of the damaged one. REALLY!?!?! THIS STORE DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS OR PROMISES! Also, the lamps we ordered with the bedroom suite were on back order, which no one informed us of, they just simply didn't deliver them. When I called I was told that they were delivered, and was basically accused of being a liar. After 3 months and over a dozen phone calls we finally got to the bottom of this issue and we're given a credit. In all, if you're looking for quality furniture and more importantly quality service Ashely Furniture - Norman is not the place to go. Financed mattress last month under the following agreements 1. No credit check (we are trying to buy a home so we didnt want any inqhiries on our vredit) 2. 60 day return poilcy 3. Monthly payments of 137.00 for 12 months Automatic payments were taken out 2 times this month. I called the furniture store who referred me to their financing people. Long story short, 1. Our credit was pulled. I received a letter informing us we had an inquiry from them 2. we were put on biweekly payments of 137.00 for 12 months..making us pay over 3500 for this matress that barely cost over 1k. 3. When i called to tell them to return the matress since we were deceived on the payment and credit check issues...they tell us it is only a 7 day return policy so they cannot help us. (Its been only about 45 days so we would still fall within the 60 days our salesperson told us) We were misled and tricked into buying the matress from them. I have talked to customer service, supervisor at customer service, yhe lending company, and manager at the store and nobody has done anything to make it right. Apparently this company is OK with their salespeople lying to people in order to get a sale done Would not recommend to anybody. I will co tinue to fight this store until they make it right. Update from my last review. They finally came out for delivery, the delivery guys gave a call a little before their arrival. They were already in a bad mood from the tone. I gave him the notice that they'll have to bring it up stairs (since soon as you go through my front door there are stairs that go up to the living room and kitchen area)he was just like "ugggh, alright" They got here, looked past me at the stairs and made more complaining noises then shook my hand and said hey. We went up to scope out where the couch is going to go. Said the couch was too big. Didn't even try, didn't even measure. It's a regular size couch. Not oversized at all. So you're saying every single person at my townhouse complex, no one has couches? That's BS. They left the coffee table I purchased and said I'll need to choose something smaller, like a loveseat. I called and told Ashley's I'm not interested in anything else since I've already drove from Fort Sill to Norman multiple times just to go to the store. I'll just take the coffee table. Manager called, we discussed the issues and he took off the delivery fee. I'm cool. I'm happy with that. I log into my account today and my total balance is $506. I didn't purchase anything except a coffee table and I have multiple receipts that say that coffee table is only $299. So I'm confused how I owe $506 on a $300 coffee table. Don't shop here at all. It's been one thing after another with this store. If you live in the Lawton/Fort Sill area, I recommend HomeZone! They finance thru the same bank as Ashley's (I got a couch the exact same size, they delivered two days later, and magically the couch fit.) read more

I am moving into my first apartment and I needed furniture. My parents suggested Ashley so I went in. Mike helped me out, so if you are in you should ask for Mike Gibbes. super helpful guy. The day after I made my purchase my landlord changed my move in date to about a month later. I called him like 3 times the next day to edit the delivery and change my information and all of that stuff. I am sure I was annoying him but he was helpful each and every time. I was a little disappointed that they did not have some of the stuff I had seen online, but they still had plenty of stock that looked great. It was a little pricier than I was hoping, but the quality of the in-person store was probably much better. Ill give an updated review of 5 stars if the delivery goes without a problem and everything is as good as it was in the store. Definitely recommend. read more

When I give this a 1 star it is only because I cannot go lower. We purchased a new entertainment center and confirm delivery. The drivers showed up they were rude. They cussed and they complained about how they aren't getting paid to do the work. Then they made the statement that one piece was damaged and we would have to reschedule. I contacted the store and they were instructed to come back and complete the installation for which I received more profanity more lack of respect. Upon "completion" The furniture was so badly damaged we had to call the store to request new furniture. They promised delivery of new furniture then called to say there was a miscommunication and we would have to wait again. Day three same results. At this time we got Mathis Brothers corporate and the store manager involved. We have received more lipservice from management and corporate, yet still have an unusable piece of furniture in the house. I would recommend going anywhere else. read more

Buyer beware. Customer service is nonexistent and damage goes unresolved. I purchased a sectional in October. When it arrived the right side arm was damaged. The delivery men were very nice, told me that they would let the store know so that the sectional chaise would be replaced, but that they would leave the damaged piece so that we could use the sectional while waiting for replacement. The next day we had a customer service rep call us and ask us to take a picture of the damage and then text it to her. We did. And then we heard nothing until I called customer service to ask what the status was. The new customer service rep asked me for the number I used to text the picture, told me she knew who it was, and asked me to text the images again. On November 22 I called and spoke with a gentleman who informed me that customer service reps should never use text and asked me to email him the pictures. I did and stayed on the phone with him until he confirmed that the images had arrived. December 15 I called the store because I still had not heard anything. When I explained the issue the woman who answered the phone put me on hold for 13 minutes before I eventually hung up. I called back and was connected to the gentleman I spoke with on November 22. He informed me that no one had told him how they wanted to proceed which is why nothing had happened. After back and forth conversation where he told me that it would be 4-6 weeks for a replacement to be ordered, and I then stated that the delay was unacceptable and wanted to return the entire sectional at this point, I was informed that a manager would call me no later than yesterday, December 16, 2016. I did not receive a call. I am extremely unhappy with Ashley Home Furniture in Norman, OK. Other than the single call on the day following delivery when we were asked for pictures of the damage (which the delivery people should have taken if that is a requirement) every contact has been initiated by me. There has been no resolution and the store appears to be unconcerned about my frustrations regarding the damage to the sectional and lack of resolution. I have purchased several items from Ashley Furniture before this experience but after this experience that trend will not continue. I strongly recommend purchasing furniture elsewhere if you live in the Norman area. NOTE: On 12/19 I received a call from Ashley Furniture wanting to make things "right" but their initial offer of how to fix things was changed. It really felt like a bait and switch. I would love to state that the company made things right but it appears unlikely. read more

We had a really good experience with our furniture purchase. Brittany B. was our salesperson, she was pretty laid back but helpful. We have shopped for a lot of furniture and dealt with overbearing to nowhere is sight sales people. This was by far the best experience so far. The manager talked with us about delivery before we left as we are building and were not sure when we would need delivery. He called a week later to give us an update on a damaged piece that was being reordered. We have not gotten delivery yet so not sure how that will go but so far we are very pleased with the service and selection. read more

CRAPPY Customer Service! Bought a very expensive Toletta 6 piece sectional, and when it was delivered, the power chaise lounge and power recliner, which are on either end, were the wrong orientation. Delivery person called the store and told us the store would be calling us to schedule delivery of correct units. Several hours later, with no call from the store, my wife called and spoke with someone in Customer Care, who said they would be calling back to schedule delivery. Several hours later, with no call, again called and got the same answer. The CSR said Sam, customer service manager or some other manager would be calling before 8:00 PM. At 8:10, still had not received a call, so my wife called the store, and this time was informed there was no one in Customer Care, because they go home at 8:00 PM. Considering telling them today to come pick up what they had delivered, and going elsewhere to find better customer service and some people that give a darn about their customer. read more

We love everything we purchased, but wasn't pleased how the dining room chairs came with plastic torn off around the edges of each cushion. We walked into a Mathis Brothers ashley franchise store in Norman, OK on a Sunday afternoon. Wound up choosing a master bed suite and kitchen table set. I negotiated a fair price for the entire purchase including a dining table, 6 chairs, master king sleigh bed, two nightstands, dresser, chest of drawers, mirror, and two art pieces. When the sales girl goes to write up the ticket after looking at lamps for an hour that come with the package she tells me that she made a mistake on the pricing and that it is actually about $900 more than already negotiated. So her manager comes over and "adjusts" the pricing getting close, but still over $200 higher than the original deal. I give in and sign up and pay for it, over $4300!! Then delivery day comes. They don't have a chest of drawers on the truck. I hadn't looked in detail at the sales ticket to notice but sure enough the chest was not on there. I called the store and the manager blames me for not telling them I wanted the chest of drawers! "It's how our package deals are..." Well, please explain how many husband/wife couples go in to buy a master suite with only one dresser and no chest? less than 1% maybe? BTW, the two nightstands were on the ticket!! But two nightstands are NOT PART of their packages. Fail! HORRIBLE sales technique there fool. BESIDES, we clearly told the sales girl at least three times we wanted the entire set including ALL of the pieces except for the media cabinet. I repeated what we wanted after she gave me the reasonable prices after negotiation, which is why I agreed to buy it in the first place. Naturally, the manager said he would gladly sell me the chest 'at a discount' plus another delivery fee. What a joke. Mathis Brothers doesn't give a rip about customer service and their sales people are either incompetent or predatory. Avoid at all costs. They have clearly demonstrated a near criminal behavior targeted consumers. They deliberately changed this deal and I have no recourse but to go to their competition. read more
