I will never again purchase anything from this company. I was Charged twice for a couch in two different colors. The couch wasn't available then was available in my desired color. I went to store for a refund and the receptionist charged me again instead of a refund so she had to do two refunds for over $800. I tried to get a refund on just the one couch I never even seen since it was on the truck, and have been given the runaround by staff members of the Northfield store. Presently, I am looking into small claims court since it's been several months with no response or refund. I had to give one star to post this review but I would not even give one star. I bought a queen size leather sofa bed from Ashley Furniture and just from laying back on the sofa, I have a change of color on part of my sofa. I called them and they wouldn't do anything and their tech service in Atlantic County won't even return my call. I believe you should think twice before you buy anything from Ashley Furniture. read more

My husband and I were in this morning. We drove an over an hour to this specific store. We've recently moved into a bigger home and we're looking for a kitchen table + 6 chairs, two recliners, a chaise lounger and a few end tables. We walked in and weren't immediately greeted, which was fine, I'm sure someone was on their way to help us. Wrong. Three employees sat on one of the show room couches scrolling through their phones and chatting with each other. Didn't look up once. Two other employees walked right passed us and never asked if we needed help or offered assistance. We browsed around the entire store, and still not a single employee came to help us. We walked out and went to Bob's Discount Furniture where we received exceptional service. They've just received lifetime customers! read more

This place has been a nightmare to deal with. When they took our money 30 days ago everyone was happy. We have had NO GOOD results with them at all. Damaged and broken furniture was sent to our home, we didn't see this at first until we opened the table up. The problem I believe is they don't want to pay to replace the item. Their tech was sent out a week ago and clearly said that the item could not be fixed it had to be replaced, poor communication from the store, and still waiting for our item to be replaced after a week, and no one has any information that makes sense when you call. I have never experienced anything like this before. Wayfair and Raymour and Flanigan hands down are better stores to shop from. I wished I had listened to my instinct and not shopped from this store at all but no.. we listened to my mother-in-law, it's not her fault but we should have seen the signs when she had to return her furniture 3 times. My suggestion is to save your money and shop at a real furniture store, you will thank me later. WHAT A NIGHTMARE THESE STORES HAVE BEEN!!!! read more

For the love of God ,RUN as far away from the store as possible! I should've canceled it but it would've cost me over $1000 for a restock fee. Almost $4500 paid for my bedding and to take two boxsprings and a king mattress away and I had a hard time getting them to do that even do that though it was written on the order! I'm not one to waste my time leaving a negative review, but here I am, unable to help myself due to such an overwhelmingly poor experience. I'm not surprised to see such a low rating and my experience echos the other 1 star reviews. My fiancée and I knew we could order a table off of Amazon and have it in a couple days, but we were gifted some cash and wanted to spend it at a local store and still hopefully get the product within a week or two. First issue, price in store was MUCH more expensive than on the website -- excuse was that each store sets their own prices. After far too much hassle, they worked with us to bring the price down a little since we were paying cash. We were told we'd get a call from a manager to finalize our order the next day. We never received a call. So my fiancée called 2 days later. Our order had not been finalized. So here were are, delayed. Eagerly waited for the call that our table was in which never came. We had a tragic passing in the family on Friday, so calling Ashley HomeStore to check in just wasn't on our minds. Sunday night rolls around and my fiancée realizes we've not heard from them and gives them a call. Spoke with Matt (a manager). Matt says our table will be in 12/12 and we'll get a call. Monday night comes with no call, fiancée reaches out to them AGAIN. A female manager says it will be in 12/13 and someone WILL call us tomorrow to let us know it's in. Well, Tuesday (12/13) came and went. No call. Once again, bless his patients, my fiancée calls again on 12/14. A very nice lady named Tammy talks my fiancée off the cliff and says she's sorry but her computer says our table is NOT in but says it's guaranteed to be delivered 12/15. Unfortunately for them, my angry grieving self could not just accept this and it was now my turn to call. Kristen (a manager) did her best to "I'm sorry" her way past my frustrations however, we ended on that I am canceling this order and would like to pick up my cash refund the following day. She said that when I come into the store tomorrow (a 40 minute drive) a cashier could help me with that. After a 40 minute drive there, I find out that they do not give cash refunds on a cash payment and they will be mailing a check. They don't even keep cash at the store. Now tonight, we've received our first returned phone call! Our buddy Matt, calls to tell me the order is canceled and check is on the way. I express to Matt the poor experience we had with examples, but Matt defaults back to "order is canceled and check is on the way." I find it hard to believe that when the ball is dropped with one simple order, that more customers aren't dealing with this headache as well, maybe this could be a learning experience! Matt couldn't have brushed me off, said all the "manager things" and got me off the phone faster. They don't care, they don't pay attention, they don't communicate, they throw our arbitrary dates then gaslight you saying "oh well we don't even XYZ so I don't know why they would have said that." So now we're waiting 10 BUSINESS DAYS for a check from cooperate (but each store sets their own price...but refunds come from cooperate?) after we paid CASH. Will absolutely never buy from any Ashley store again. Can't recommend, even if you're desperate. read more

VERY DISAPPOINTED! I purchased an outdoor dining table and chairs for my deck this past fall at Ashley's. After the winter I too the tarp off a day ago to get ready to use it this spring and it was already chipping and can't be used. When I called Ashley's they simply said they couldn't do anything and that is it??? Really? The table was over a thousand dollars and is worthless 6 months later. Nothing but great things to say!! After a TERRIBLE experience with a little furniture store around the corner from us, we ended up Ashley's. I am so happy we did! We had a great sales guy help us out. He was patient and knowledgeable. All the employees on the floor were awesome. Our couches shipped quickly and thank gosh for that!! We were in dire need. Ordered furniture over 4th July sale told it would be in August. Was called September 16th items where in by salesperson Robert and one item was back order 2 weeks. I stated that I could wait 2 weeks and have whole ordered delivered. Never heard back. Never returned call. November 13th I visit store. John the manager told me my furniture was allotted to someone else and my ETA was January. I found out from Ashley furniture on-line that the items where discontinued and I was not going to get them. Huge variety of furniture to choose from. Friendly staff and the prices are decent. Free shipping if you buy over $1000. The reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is because we bought from them 4 years ago, 2 leather sofa sets and 1 set had started peeling dramatically! Leather bits everywhere! But it was a good price and it did last for 4 years, so I am warning you that you shouldn't expect it to last for that long. Other than the 1 set, the other set is still in good shape. Decent prices for decent furniture, can't complain! Also the shipping guys were really good the last time. Shipment time isn't so great, but if you're not in a hurry then they're awesome. They would take all the trash with them and if there was a scratch in transit they do take it back and reorder you a new one if you're not satisfied. All in all, we enjoyed their service. read more

I have purchased furniture twice at the Northfield, NJ location. A living & dinning room set. A year later a bedroom set. After the delivery guys left I needed to plug a cord in behind the headboard. I lifted the mattress and saw two holes in mattress. I took pictures and sent them to the number that was given to me. They are replacing the mattress. Ask for Cathy. I got in touch with the manager about paying for something by credit card over the phone, not their policy. You could dispute the charges on your card. You can do that if you pay for it in the store !!! The manager said he would see what he could do and he would call me back in an hour. He blew me off. Have been to a handful of furniture stores shopping for about a week or two now for a couch. By far the WORST sales rep I've ever dealt with!! She was extremely rude and unprofessional. She kept bad mouthing her fellow employees. She made us feel extremely uncomfortable multiple times when we didn't like things she suggested. When I asked if they could honor the online price she was annoyed and rude. She kept cursing using the f bomb when she couldnt figure stuff out on her computer. She also said there was a discount running where they cover the shipping fee and sales tax and when it came down to it she said she would not do that for us anymore. Then as I was paying she was like "oh I never offered you the protection plan because I already know you wouldn't take it and spend more"..and then made a sarcastic laugh. I was honestly offended and pissed at her comment, she was acting Like I was cheap because I politely asked her to honor the online price I saw. At that point I was ready to leave because I honestly hated that I gave my money to that company also knowing she made commission off me but wanted a specific headboard and dresser matching to our set we already owned. I chose NOT to buy a couch at this location solely because of the sales rep we dealt with. Not sure how or why she has a job there. Definitely the WORST sales rep we dealt with. My family just moved from out of state, and we're looking to buy a few pieces of furniture. I have had Ashley furniture previously, and it lasted a very long time. We went in today, and were treated so fabulously! Fran was an angel, who was not only patient with my indecisiveness, but was very forgiving to my 1 year old who decided today of all days to act like a little jerk. We ended up purchasing a sofa, lazy boy, dresser, and night stand. The overall experience was topped by great customer service! Thank you Fran!!! The furniture is overpriced and uncomfortable. The sales people are pushy. Don't bother purchasing any protection plan because it won't be honored. They do not explain the rules and it's a big scam. Absolutely terrible service. I bought a couch on June 24th. It is now August 7th and the couch is still not in. I have called and each time a sales rep tells me that the couch is not yet in. I finally called and demanded to talk to a manager, and was told by a sales rep that he had personally called me to tell me my couch was in and I never answered the calls. Meanwhile, I called every 2 weeks to check and was told it wasn't in. Now every time I call I get a busy signal. I tried calling from a different phone and it went through. Not sure if they blocked my phone number or what. The absolute worst customer service I have ever received and wish I never went through the headache. Terrible customer service. There are many other furniture stores in the same location that have much better customer service and products. Ashley is normally my go to store. I've purchased sofa, chairs, and other items. My last purchase was a bed and mattress . I've purchased it one year and a half. However, I'm having problems with the mattress. I've had to call a few times to get service, finally after a month and a half I think I'm getting help. Where my disappointment comes in at is their customer service in this case is lacking. My experience was HORRIBLE. My sister and I went into Ashley furniture store to purchase two bedroom sets for mothers day. Upon entering the store we were not greeted so we still decided to look around. we notice the sale reps were with other customers so we waited patiently for someone to help us that never happened.
