We had a terrible meal at Ashley 's. The food over spiced and we love spicey food... Too much pepper...no other flavors could shine. The service was lack luster and slow. We will not return. read more

Ashleys has been my favourite balti house since it opened. The staff are always friendly when you arrive and seat you promptly. The place is quaint due to it's small size but is regularly redecorated to keep it fresh and clean. The food is always delicious, especially the starters. I could easily make a meal of sheek kebabs, chicken tikka and loads of popadums and pickles. I'm going to have to end this review now as my mouth is watering and I'm going to have to phone Ashleys for a takeaway. read more

Ashleys Restaurant is Worcester's first Balti house that has been transformed over the years into a fully licensed restaurant with Cobra beer on draught.

Meet the Manager: Monwar K.

Monwar's first forage into the Indian trade was at his father's restaurant at the age of 15. At the time the Purbani Restaurant was Worcester's most refined and popular Indian restaurant and this is where he learnt the ropes. He then went onto manage the Viceroy Group of restaurants in Sussex before returning to his hometown. 12 years on he is now manager and owner of Ashleys Restaurant on The Tything, also known as Worcester's own 'curry mile'.

One of the waiters struggled a bit with our drinks order, not sure why one lassi and one red wine glass should get him confused. My colleague took the veggie pakora which was quite filling and tasty. I got the Akora lamb curry with pilau rice. Fresh tomatoes and rich tomato sauce with chilis, garlic and touch of fresh ginger bonded quite well. The sweet lassi helped downing them very pleasantly, faster than what I was expecting. Very reasonable prices, Indian music videos playing behind their bar. They also have a quite big list of ice creams for dessert but we had to skip as we were too full. Definitely worth trying it!

Wow! absolutely loved it. The wife and I visited Worcester to watch the rugby and decided to go for an Indian afterwards. There was plenty of choice so we decided to look online for some reviews and came across Ashleys. Now I am from London and regularly visit 'high-end' restaurants and do not mind paying good money for good food. I was pleasantly surprised to find such a high level of quality food and service in a little restaurant such as this. I found Ashleys to be exceptional value for money as the food was delicious. We couldn't have asked for more on a night out. Excellent service and warm surroundings rounded off the evening perfectly. Highly recommend to all and we will visit again when we are next in the area. read more

My firm is located on The Tything in Worcester and when it comes to choosing an Indian restaurant to eat at I think most people who live locally will appreciate it's not the simplest decision to make! What-with there being 10 or so within walking distance! Having tried almost all of them over the years however I think Ashleys deserves a special mention. The Cobra was delicious and cold and smooth. The poppadums and dips were moreish. The starters were finger licking good. And the main courses were freshly prepared and tasty. Rounded off with good service and stylish surroundings, what more could you want? Very highly rated in my honest opinion and will become our new favourite. read more

I used to go to the Anarkali and have done for 10years but i recently tried Ashleys and iv got to say it was excellent. the service was good with friendly staff and the menu selection was completely unique and very tasty. good valu too as it only cost abt £14 a head Cobra pints included. Worcester news done a surprise review on them and it was excellent. well worth the visit. i will be back there again soon! p.s good atmosphere on weekends when its jam packed! read more

Ashleys is the kind of place you want to go to if you haven't got much money but you still want a decent meal. One of the first balti places in Worcester, the staff are always friendly and it's always busy. It's a no fringes place where you can bring your own booze, which cuts down on the bill. I really like the prawn sag and you can't beat ordering a giant naan to share between you - just tear it up and use it to scoop up the delicious food. read more
