This quaint little shop is located on Landscove Avenue in the Holmewood Estate. This shop has been here quite a long time and is used by many people that live around it.
I actually live close by to this shop so its my local. However this in mind I try to avoid this shop at all costs and prefer to use the more expensive co op which is more of a walk away.
This shop used to be really nice but in the last couple of months the standard has slipped really bady.
I used to buy many thing in here but find it is not worth the hassel at all. The frozen food looks like it has been in the freezer years and know that best before dates are not checked.
I have bough many items and found them to be out of date yet full price. I often by my little girl magazines but find them to be out of date and the free gifts tend to be broken as well.
The shop itself is not that clean either and I only use it now as a last resort. The staff seem ok but on the occasion that I have been in 1 member of staff has been on the phone and not paying attention to what she is doing, but this said she is a very nice lady and is always friendly when we are there.
I do think that the shop needs to have a re think as one of the staff members has a habit of pricing things to his own prices in his head. This can lead to the over pricing of many things.
In fair ness though the staff at this shop have to put up with a lot of things. Being Indian on this estate unfortuantly means trouble and I know that they have had abuse from some people. I think it is unfair that this happens as no dout this might be the reason the shope is suffering it used to be such a nice little shop toos. read more
