We experienced very bad service. We ordered appetizers and main courses. We had to use the same plates for appetizers and main courses. Waitress said that they don't change plates in between courses. We brought this to the owner's attention and the owner said they don't want to clean the dishes and that's why it does not matter how many courses you order, we have to use the same plates for all the courses. The do od is good but if their serving is bad then the whole experience become unpleasant. We are never going there anymore. They need to fix their attitude if they want to stay in business. Bad bad bad food. We went for iftari buffet. Iftari at 8:29 pm- iftari was there and the food was served at 8:50pm?!? What is this? A technique so people munch of iftari and eat less of food? Samosa made of burritos sold at costo/bjs. Thats not samosa at all. Food is sacred, food is important, you can't just make anything from shan masalas and call it chicken karhayee- karhayee that tasted like something i never ate before. Chana was bad, biryani was exceptionally bad, haleem was super bad. Was there anything good? Well gajar ka halwa was good, fruit chat was good and bbq was good. The best Pakistani/Indian food I have had in CT!!!! Amazing delicious freshly made food that reminds me of taste from back home. I can't stress how soft the naans are at this place, always served HOT right out of the over. I have tried almost everything on their menu from the Seekh kababs, Malali tikka, Behari kabab, Biryani, Nihari, and Haleem, and Samosa chat. I have alot of Vegetarian friends and the owners are always respectful of their needs and offer dishes like Palak Paneer, Chana Masala, Bindhi, Daal etc to accommodate their cravings. By far the best indian food I have ever ordered. Some dishes are very spicy, however it will be one of those things that you can't stop eating because of the great taste. Great option for Pakistani/Indian food in the area! I got the Veggie Samosa (a little on the small side compare to other restaurants), Garlic Naan, Chicken Makhni and Chicken Biryani as take out. Everything was flavorful and the meat wasn't dry!! Both chicken dishes were a little too spicy for me (I like things mild). I'm not really sure whether the negative comments about the food are by someone who is either a competitor or a disgruntled employee. Went there last night with a group of 6 people. If you want watered down Pakistani/Indian food then look elsewhere. If you want to try the best Pakistani/Indian food then give this place a go. You will be amazed on the quality of the food here. The deep aromatic flavors and taste compete with top desi restaurants in NYC, Toronto and LA. Yes, the restaurant is understaffed but that doesn't mean the service is horrible (as pointed out by another reviewer). The service last night was great. The server came over right away and asked us what we wanted to drink. Drinks were out fast. Order was taken and the food arrived shortly. Positive comments amongst the group were echoing through out the restaurant. Everyone kept saying "Wow!! OMG!! This is Amazing!!" We ordered the chicken biryani which is absolutely fantastic. Paired it with Kunna Gosht, chicken tandoori masala, Chicken Boti Kabab and some chicken samosas. I'm pretty amazed how consistently good the food has been here since the last time I was there. Will 100% come back. If you want the best Pakistani/Indian food in the state then go check it out for yourself. I wish I could not give them one star because they deserve ZERO. They are extremely rude & don't know how to give good customer service. When you call them, the lady who is the owner starts to YELL at you because they don't have MOST items on the menu. She's very bad at recommending things & gets angry when you ask her. They also gave UNCOOKED beef bihari. We have had their food several times from take out to dining in, just to see if they would improve but they haven't. NEVER going back here again. Food is consistently good and more or less authentic. Service and timeliness could use improving, but if you're relatively patient and not super hungry - the wait isn't too too long. One thing to keep in mind is that this place does events quite often. Usually they are open during events, but it's a tad awkward and loud. Terrible, terrible service! Even WORSE and terribly BLAND food. Seriously, do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to eat. Very rude and poor staff(/owners?). There was a birthday party when we (party of 7) went, so the entire staff seemed overwhelmed and out of their element. Here is a list of things that went from bad to worse: 1. The elderly guy who seated us got mad when we requested a booth, that was empty, instead of the table he was trying to seat us on. We moved there eventually anyway after he left. 2. Food was incredibly bland. If you haven't really had Indian/Pakistani food ever, you probably won't notice it or care but people who have eaten it elsewhere (hopefully a good place) will not return. 3. Order was missing items that they first outright refused were ordered. 4. One of the items came AFTER we had paid the check (???) 5. Lastly (and this one takes the cake), several minutes after we had ordered an item, one of the wait staff came and told us that the chef was busy having his lunch and that they did not want to bother him (WTH????). First of all they didn't have the items we wanted to order, and then when we were trying to decide what to order because as what we decided wasn't available, the server would not wait and said that I don't have time to wait for you to decide so I will come back later. One of my favorite places to go for Pakistani food! They really have the best food around. Some of my favorite dishes are the palak ghosht, kunna ghosht, and samosas. The naans are always fresh out of the oven, crispy, and soft. They def can be eaten all on their own. The biryani is also a favorite of mine. The food is spicy but so flavorful, and so so good! Greattt food in a humble setting and courteous service. Definitely try the chicken Haleem there and if you can take a little spice-heat, do not miss the beef/goat Nihaari. Love this place, great portions & reasonable prices. We've been a couple of times now and had the naan, chili garlic naan (a bit pricier but delicious and worth it!), palak paneer, chicken makni, tikka masala and the beef shami kebab. The kebab is reminiscent of one of my favorite restaurants, shish kebab house of afghanistan, and way cheaper! Update after the 4th visit (the first 3 I rated it 4 star consistently) We (4 people) went during Ramadan for dinner on a weekend and we did not know that they do a buffet (I must declare I was only a fan of the buffet, till I was 18 and could eat like a cow, my feelings have since then reversed, so a little bias, but mind you a little) To start out we reached at 8 and the place was packed and by that I mean that we stood at least 5-7 mins at the entrance trying to navigate between peoples chair to get to our table (last one). The buffet start was no less than a mad house (and I agree that was not the fault of the restaurant) and the dishes were empty pretty soon with only meager amounts coming in which were not close to being enough for a refill (this was the restaurant's fault). The food was WAY WAY below their average quality, though there were quite a few things to try out. With that many people and subpar food (compared to their own) we left pretty fast and did not enjoy the place or the food. (Quite a few people have complained about their iftar buffet on yelp but regular days are good) Giving it a 3 star because it's still a decent place for a weekday night out if you want good Pakistani/Indian food. read more

This has been a fantastic find. We have recently moved to Avon. Were in the search for North Indian/Pakistani experience. We found it - without the pricey menu and great food. We have since acquainted this restaurant on several occasions. and have attempted to sample the menu - all high fives here. The place is clean and the owners are delightful and humble. You can tell they take pride in their food. We have tried all the BBQ (Tandoor) menu and its great. The Spinach meat ($8.99) with Naan ($1) was not only good but easy on the wallet. Yuck! Worst Indian food I've ever had. I can't believe the good reviews are real. Samosas were not homemade- pretty sure they were packaged frozen and microwaved. "Meat" was all bone and fat. Chicken Korma was in a pool of grease and didn't even come with rice.
