Despite this, recently I was dragged along with a bunch of friends for a meal here, and clearing away my preformed judgements about the place, I was actually fairly pleasantly surprised. Their obvious selling feature is the quirkiness of having many different cuisines under one roof - and it's kind of pleasant to not be confined to one style for once. However, being a jack of all trades also means they're not amazing at any of them - but the cheap prices perhaps make up for that. Although I was entertained by the experience I wasn't won over, and the poor service didn't help.

A hearty menu, hearty portions, and hearty bar staff (doesn't the word hearty sound a bit odd now?). In other words this place isn't overly up market and they aren't afraid to be friendly and offer decently sized portions. They don't let themselves be constricted to one continent, let alone one country here, with Mexican, Inidan, and Chinese amongst the extensive range of cuisines available. This obviously means it isn't quite as authentic as going somewhere spealist, but they're never too wide of the mark. If you are looking for the real deal then perhaps head somewhere else. Flavourz (I think they let themselves down with the name a bit) offers a taste education in a friendly setting, and with big portions.

The food itself is fine, nothing "great" or authentic by any means, but it's better than other similar asian food buffet I've tried in the USA. Price seemed very reasonable, especially because this is an all you can eat establishment. The service was great. They kept the dishes all hot and well stocked and clear your old plates very quickly. If you are looking for something a bit different to try when staying in Swindon, I'd definitely recommend JRC Global Buffet. I thought the selection was very nice. They have lots of offers from all over Asia and each "country" has it's own station with various selections. There is also a grill station where you can order various meats to be grilled to your desire. None of the food was spectacular, but it was all pretty good and what I'd expect from a buffet. As a word of caution, they do not offer many dishes outside of the "Asian realm" so if you don't like that kind of food then you'd be better off elsewhere. Aside from various potato dishes, some fried items (chicken, onion rings, friend shrimp), and the grill station, most of the food is Asian. They also have a very nice dessert area with ice cream, sweets, and a chocolate fountain. Service was great for this style of restaraunt. They don't bring anything to your table for you (not even the water which you need to pick up from the bar), but they clear plates quickly.

NOTES: ~ This review is based on my experience on a Saturday night, so it was relatively busy. Ambiance: This place is really clean and fancy. It could get pretty crowded so I recommend calling ahead to make a reservation if need be (for large parties). Thankfully, I only had a party of 2 so it was pretty easy to accommodate and needed to wait only about 15 minutes or so. On the inside, with all the glitz and glamour, Cosmo is definitely made for a special night out to treat yourself every now and again. Customer Service: From what I've seen, before you go in while you're still in the queue, they could get a bit short with you and impatient. However once you finally sit down, the staff is attentive and respectful. I guess just grit your teeth through the service until you finally get in? Food: This is why I love Cosmo. It goes for a pan-Asian Fusion experience with cuisine from all around the world - Chinese, Indian, etc. I'm a huge fan because I've been seriously lacking authentic non-Chop Suey Chinese food in Swansea and Cosmo definitely delivers. My recommendations: ~ Potstickers. They're little nuggets of meat wrapped in flour and pan-fried. Delicious and juicy on the inside. The chef here does some of the best potstickers I've had! ~ Duck w/ Pancakes. Get it with Hoisin Sauce (a brown slightly sweet thick sauce), cucumber, and wrap it all up in a pancake. Delicious! ~ They make really really good battered chicken on a stick. ~ The queue for large dishes such as the lobster, salmon, etc takes a VERY long time so it depends whether or not you want to go. It's really well made though and fresh. ~ Get the dim sum. They're in round wooden containers and the custard buns are delicious. I'd definitely come here again.

There was a wide selection of Indian and Chinese food to choose from, I assume there is more of a selection in the evening too. The food wasn't 5/5 but it was definitely what I'd expect when I'm paying £6.50. The drinks are quite expensive, however beer is at a relatively normal price which is a positive! Overall I'd come here again, in fact I look forward to it and trying out the other options they have.

You know the food will not be great but there will be lots of it and the kids like being able to choose exactly what they want. This is a rather bizarre mix of Indian, Thai, Chinese, Mexican and Italian. The emphasis is on quantity and not quality. As usual in these palces the pick of the dishes are the cook to order sections and this had a noodle bar where you can pick your own raw ingredients and then they will stir fry before you - they also had a cook to order pasta section. it was pretty empty when we sat down at about 5....but had busied up by the time we left. There were lots of chefs busy cooking...the s=desserts went down best with the kids - they even had a Mr Whippy style ice cream machine where you could make your own ice cream cones.... What is not immediately obvious is that it is an all you can eat buffet and nowhere that you can see inside is the price which is £17 a head on Fridays and Saturdays. What of the food well I had the pizza and garlic bread which had dried out under the heat lamp and was virtually tasteless, I also had a burger which was of very poor quality. When we left the restaurant I looked for the price which was displayed but was written in dark red on a black background which would indicate to me that the owners are simply trying to make as much money as they can in the short term as I cannot see them getting any repeat business and would not expect it to be there in six months time, in the meantime avoid.

It's main purpose (I think) is as an all you can eat Chinese buffet and in my more youthful days those four magic words ("all you can eat") used to fill me with great enthusiasm. I was under the illusion that I'd show them for having such a ridiculous policy. I'll take them to the cleaners I used to say. Well now that I'm a little older, I've learnt that they're able to get away with this policy buy serving the most God awful, grease filled, MSG induced garbage. Dragon Kiss employs the same tactic with their buffet. It's not great. What's also not great about the place is around 8 o'clock at the weekend, Dragon Kiss doubles as a bar/karaoke hang out for Weston oiks and pikeys. If the food wasn't bad enough, listening to some chav belt out The Pussy Cat dolls doesn't make it any better.
