Usually in Japanese ramen, the sliced meat has both lean meat and a bit fatty part and the meat is slow stewed for hours that the fatty part is not tasted oily anymore. Here the meat is dry and seems to quick cook. The bowel seems to be thrown together quickly without any heart went into it when preparing. My friend ordered sushi which is also average. Not that fresh or special tasty The 2 Stars give to the lunch special options(12-5pm Monday-Saturday) so you save a few euro. Otherwise I would just give 1 star if pay 11 Euro for a bad ramen. I noticed most high rating happened in 2015 or before and the waiter also mentioned they changed to use udon in ramen from usual ramen 2 years ago. Maybe the restaurant is taken over by new owner or had a new chef since then and the quality has gone down. We initially planned to go to another sushi restaurant next to it but because they were fully booked, we went to this one. It probably has the reason why this restaurant still had so many empty spots while another one next to it was completely full. Last but not least please any people who run a restaurant, put your heart in when preparing for your food. Such a shame.

The meals were flavorful and loaded with veggies and came with a side of rice. There were 2 drawbacks, which we can't hold the restaurant for it. (1) they ran out of fried chicken and (2) super loud patrons made it pretty unbearable to stay longer after we ate. But overall a young and hip place. I plan to come back during my next trips.

Location: 5/5 The location is super convenient -- literally a 1-minute walk from the Marriott Hotel and just a few minutes from the main train station. If you're staying nearby and getting tired of German food, definitely give this place a try! Food: 4/5 The seafood sundubu (seafood spicy soft tofu soup) really hit the spot! It was flavorful and comforting, with just the right amount of spice -- not overly spicy at all, so don't let the word "spicy" scare you. The spicy squid and pork belly were also really nice. Drinks: 4.5/5 I loved that they offer Korean drinks as well as two local draft beers. A perfect combination! Service: 4/5 The servers were friendly and welcoming, and everyone we interacted with spoke English, which made things very easy. Price: 4/5 Very reasonable for Cologne -- less than €30 per person, including food and drinks. We had an especially exhausting day because our luggage was lost by the airline, so we had to make a quick trip to the train station to grab some essentials. Thankfully, both suitcases were eventually found, but they won't be delivered until tomorrow. This Korean comfort food was exactly what we needed to end the day! Overall, definitely recommend this spot if you're visiting Cologne, especially if you're staying near the Marriott and want a break from German food.

Gogi Matcha - Squid & pork belly was pretty good, but we left half of it since we were full from spicy tofu soup.

The lunch prices are very cheap here and I'm not a big eater, so the portion was just right for me. I got the kimchi soup, dumplings, and salad combo, which is a super simple dish that I usually make at home, but I couldn't find the dumpling brand I usually buy at the Asian market here. Overall, the flavor was quite bland and left a lot to be desired. Even the kimchi soup was watered down despite kimchi usually being a pungent and sour dish. Although I do see why the food flavors aren't as strong with most of the food culture here being different, I hoped that all the flavors wouldn't have erred on the bland side. Great service and I hope Maastricht gets more Korean and east Asian restaurants!

I got the vegetarian Mandu with some rice and a small bowl of soup. It kept me full for a few hours, but presentation was lackluster and the taste just ok, nothing to write home about or that I couldn't have found in the freezer section of a grocery store. Service was really friendly though, so I might give the other lunch combos another chance at some point, but not before I have exhausted all other options in the area.
