I was traveling in the area for work browsing yelp for a quick lunch option and saw this place. I am so glad that I stopped by. One of the best Asian places I've ever eaten at and I try them everywhere I go. The quality, the presentation, and service all were impeccable. I got the Bangkok Chicken and made it spicy. The sauce was perfectly flavored, the chicken nice and crispy, and rice and broccoli perfectly cooked. It left me extremely full and even had some leftovers. Nice crowd on a Friday night with lots of locals and a fun atmosphere If you can get beyond the fact that it is in a strip mall on the side of a road you will be pleasantly surprised with the menu and the authentic dishes from the Laos-Thailand area. One of the bartenders at Fonta Flora recommended this place to me. She said that they order take out from here quite often. That's good enough for me! Located in the building, one over from Mountain Burrito, is a really solid Thai restaurant, Asian Fusion Kitchen. Don't let the name fool you - it doesn't do this place justice, as the food is uncommonly good. My Lad Na with Beef (noodles, gravy and veggies) never stood a chance - I ate an enormous plateful without blinking an eye. Why? Because it was delicious!!! A fresh new and unique restaurant in the area. We have visited twice the service doesn't rush you and is very polite. They do not have their alcohol license but were fine with BYOB. Love this place. My husband and I have an extremely difficult time NOT stopping here on our way back home to Raleigh after spending a weekend with family/friends in Morganton. It is excellent food, very authentic, and the spicy is HELLA HOT. Seriously, don't do spicy if you don't want intolerable heat. I warned you. Delicious to some, panic inducing for others. The Nam (crispy rice) and pad Thai are favorites, but we've never had a bad meal here. It is a low key, casual family owned place. They have changed owners and I just feel really disappointed with their food. It no longer feels authentic, everything either lacks flavor or tastes suuuuuper salty. Their pho tastes like instant pho, like the ones you can buy at oriental markets... it isn't solely just Laotian & Thai food now. It's a mixture of all sorts of Asian food which I understand creates more of a variety but I guess I liked it better when the food was authentic Laotian. Stopped by here while we were in Morganton and I ordered the Red Curry with Chicken. The red curry was suppose to be spicy but it tasted more sweet than spicy. I don't really care too much for sweet curry but it was still good. My boyfriend had the Crispy Rice with Pork and he loved it. He said that's one thing he will definitely come back for. As for my brother and my sister, they both ordered the Drunken Noodle with Beef. Sadly it didn't have as much flavor as other Drunken noodle dishes that we've had before. As for our service, our waitress was so sweet. She came and refilled our drinks when they got low and on our way out she invited us back and gave us recommendations for our next visit. Overpriced for what you get. Ordered beef fried rice for $12.95 and got MAYBE 5 pieces of paper-thin shaved beef.

New owners have changed the whole taste and feel of the place. All the dishes that were staples at the restaurant have been eliminated from the menu. No more sticky rice, no more nam, no more pho. Prices went up substantially as well. I guess this will appeal to some, but as for me, I'll get my thai fix elsewhere. read more

Asian Fusion is one of those little hole-in-the-wall gems. From my understanding, it started with modest roots as the grocery store next door catering to the asian community in the area. This was one of the only places to get a lot of ingredients important to the culture and cuisine. Then they opened this restaurant. The food here is great - and insanely affordable. The dishes are all thoughtfully prepared and the staff and owners are always pleasant and welcoming. They appreciate your business. Some of the dishes are different than what I have had elsewhere of the same names, but all very very good. My favorites include the drunken noodle, pad see ew, papaya salad, and awesome crispy rice lettuce wraps. Whenever I am in the area, I try to make a visit to this restaurant. Note that they are closed on Monday, but if you're passing through on 40, it's just a quick jump off the interstate and well worth it. read more

My mom turned us onto this place. She says all the local Asians in the area flock here for specifically for their pho. Now that I've been there, I can see why. It's good. Real good. Better than I expected for a little restaurant in Morganton. I've had pho in big cities like Charlotte, Raleigh, even Minneapolis that weren't this good. We also ordered a stir fried vegetable dish. The veggies were definitely fresh, not frozen. You can tell because they had a good crispy bite to them. Service was as expected from a mom and pops restaurant. Overall, I was impressed with my first visit. I think I'll come back more often when we're in town to visit my parents. read more

The decor is phenomenal. This place has a very relaxing atmosphere. I got the chicken and shrimp with rice and mixed vegetables. Everything was delicious!
