This place was unacceptable the bathroom was nasty in the floors were very dirty in the restaurant and the food was cold and not only that but a friend and I had got there around 3:20 and didn't know that it was switching over to dinner at 4:00 so the manager came out screaming and yelling when I got a few shrimp that were put out on the buffet about 3:50 so obviously I did not make a seen, but I did call him back to let him know that it was unprofessional and I'll never eat at that establishment again and I will recommend everybody else not to or you can take your chance. So don't expect great service. I think the best thing to do is to get takeout where it can perhaps, hopefully be fresh enough for you. I would not eat there again! It's been a long time since I've gotten sick from eating out. The food here left me nauseous. Fortunately, I didn't eat too much of what did get me sick. I guess that's the blessing of a buffet. Not much variety. Just your typical Chinese buffet choices. Lukewarm food. Even some of the fruit looked like it'd been sitting out long passed it's allotted time. Least of your worries is the decor, which hasn't changed in 10 years. The bench seat I was placed had a cut in the back and moved about worryingly. This not a place I would recommend. My son and I stopped there for dinner and were displeased with the quality of the food and the fact that it wasn't warm. I asked to speak to the manager and told him the food was cold and that I was not satisfied with the meal. He told that he would check the temperature in the tables. He came back and informed us that the temperature at the tables was within health department parameters. We then asked for the check. He offered me a 15% discount and told me he remembered me from about 6 months ago. I told him that he must have confused me with someone else, and he insisted. I hadn't been in there in at least 3 years. Obviously he has had these complaints before, and isn't concerned with building a loyal clientele. Any other restaurant I have eaten at would have refunded the cost of the meal and apologized. Learn from my mistake and drive by these guys. Have been going here with the guys from work. It's an Asian buffet. The food is pretty good especially the General So's. This place is frequented by a lot of people so the food is definitely fresh. They have something for everyone too, not just Asian. Soup, salad, fruit bar. I'll go back for sure. read more

For plenty of cheap Chinese style food, you can't beat this place. The buffett is constantly being refreshed, and although I"m a pick y eater, I can find plenty of options. There are random options like pizza, eggs and sausage if you're with someone who isn't a Chinese fan. read more

Working down the street from here for over a year, I got to know this place well. It is the best Chinese buffet that I have found in Columbus and my group of "lunch friends" drove around to try several other locations. Asian Star has a great selection and has several items for kids that might not like Chinese food. It is a bit pricey to make it a regular lunch spot and I really do not like that even if you do not want pop they charge the same buffet with drink price. I am also not a fan of the ice cream bar, but I usually fill up so much on the buffet that if I tried their dessert I would go into a coma. read more

Pretty good Chinese buffet. (I'm saving the 5 stars for when I finally find my favorite.) This was standard Chinese buffet fare, CA roll sushi, fried rice, General Tso's chicken, etc. They also had pizza, panko breaded shrimp, mozzarella sticks, and fries for the pickier eaters. They had spring rolls which is pretty rare for this area. The egg rolls were super stuffed and they, and the spring rolls, did not disappoint! The stars of the show were the crab Rangoon and the hibachi chicken. Another yelper recommended the hibachi chicken and I'm really glad I tried it. It tasted like it was flame grilled and the marinade/sauce was amazing. The crab Rangoon were easily 80% crab. I've never seen so much crab in them anywhere else. Ever! I'd come back again just for these 2 dishes. I thought the fried rice had a strange taste to it but my family said they thought it was fine. I did notice the fried rice had pork in it (not vegetarian like most places) and no egg (which we found a plus because we hate scrambled eggs). For starters I love eating at buffets; always interesting what you might find. After reading some of the reviews about this place decided to try it. However, and I don't say that often about buffet restaurants but this one is terrible. While the sauteed bean sprouts and rice noddles were something different and tasty the rest of the food selection was poor and the few vegetables they had were overcooked. Also many dishes were empty during Friday prime time dinner hour causing you to wait for refills. Service was slow at best, I had 4 empty plates til something got finally cleared. Certainly won't be returning to this place and maybe have better luck next time... :( read more

Me and my family met at this location Saturday the 2nd. When we arrived we were greeted quickly. We had a large party of 11. They went above and beyound to see to it we had prIvacy to talk. This is our regular Chinese restaurant. They have a great selection of items and the service is excellent. Use a coupon from Val-pak to get a good deal. I would give it 5 stars, but it is in need of updating. Their regular buffet during the week is about $7 so it's fairly cheap...food is mediocre. Now, don't go to the Sunday buffet, it is $12.90....for the same food that you get in the weekday buffet. As for all typical chinese buffets go in either ohio or new york this rates moderately mainly because the flavors of the foods are only average at best nothing really stands out on its own here. Personally the only thing i enjoyed eating here was probably the beansprouts and the panko fried fish. Other then that the food is just sub par at most as compared to the other buffets ive been to. In ohio this buffet might be fairly decent but it still lingers behind the rest of the buffets ive been to in new york and pennsylvania by far. As a college studen i love coming to chinese buffets to get my moneys worth for food and portions. But at this buffet which i might say is better then the hong kong buffet over on henderson road and reed. But if you really want better americanized chinese your better off ordering from one of the actual chinese restaurants then going to the buffet. read more

This is the most ratchet meal I have ever had in my life. It was so greasy and gross. All the food was cold, and the icream was melting. There was a stink bug crawling around my table. Probably the worst Asian (buffet) I have been to. Food didn't have much flavor, some tasted like it was sitting out for hours. First, I had a difficult time getting over the smells. It was apparent that this place had not had a deep clean in decades. The seats were torn up, the table was sticky, the bathroom was gross, and the toilet didn't flush. I was very tempted to leave without eating, but with 2 kids, I didn't want to go somewhere else. We ate and the food was ok. Not bad, not notable. I didn't get sick the next day so that's a plus. Then, on the way out, to top it off, there was a big goldfish dying. I told the receptionist who didn't seem to think anything was wrong when it clearly was swimming on its side, lethargic, and floating toward the top. I ordered beef with Chinese vegetables and the beef was so fatty and not just a few pieces, all the beef was very hard to chew due to fat and taste was awful. It was totally inedible. We ordered the combination dinner and the language barrier was so bad that they brought us the wrong food and tried to charge us a much higher price. Even though they didn't understand us at all we pointed to the menu and thought they would follow what we pointed at but they couldn't even do that correctly. The other issue is we waited forever to get the food and when they brought it out it was cold. If you don't mind poor quality meat or don't eat meat maybe they are fine but to not even be able to eat it since it was so bad and then to have to pay for it, this would never happen in an american run restaurant. The restaurant is run down and in very poor condition. The back " party room" has numerous wet ceiling tiles with mold. The room smells very musty. The dishes were dirty. Maybe it was the time of day; which I realize is not an excuse, but most dishes were luke-warm at best. Some of the food was not as flavorful as I normally get here.
