I had to get food for my Grandma and she picked huu tieu cat heo (big white noodle soup w/ pork) and to my surprise, it opens at 10 but I called at 9:40 and they answered the phone and took my ordered! Great place to get Chinese food nearby home. Very affordable price point for their 3 item for $22.99 with a lot of dishes to choose from. I made an order to go and got peking spare ribs, salt and pepper fish filet, and sauteed beef tofu. The waiter that took care of me when I arrived for the pickup was very nice and friendly. Everything was ready to go for the quick drive back home. The peking spare ribs were very tasty with cuts of pork chops in a sweet and gooey sauce. The meat was juicy and all surfaces were covered with the sweet glaze. Salt and pepper fish filet had a crunchy batter and had a good balance of saltiness and spiciness from the jalapeno/garlic/onions that they are tossed together with. The sauteed beef tofu seemed just ok. Overall, it was a good meal and we finished everything in one sitting. Since the days of Wing Wah and Fortune China have passed, my quest for a good Chinese restaurant in this area might have come to an end. I just can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet! I've attended a couple of birthday dinners and late night jaunts in the past and never really had any complaints. I recently dined in, thinking that they still close at midnight. We learned that they close at 10 pm on Friday-Saturday, and 9:30 pm on Sunday-Thursday. I guess it's been a long time since we've dined here. Since we came in on a Friday around 9:30 pm, we also learned that the special deal was not available after 9:30. Their special consists of three entrées for only $15.99. This dine-in only deal includes vegetable soup too. Way cheaper than contributing the usual $20 (or more) per person per entrée, tax, and tip when we go out. More bang for the buck without a doubt! For reasonable prices, authentic food, and quick and friendly service....I found myself back here a couple of days later. Some of the items that we've devoured: Ribs with black bean sauce: flavorful and fatty pieces of short ribs Beef with Chinese broccoli: nice and tender slices of beef Beef chow fun: I've had better Salt and pepper spare ribs: my favorite Combo chow mein: cooked Hong Kong style is the way to go Shrimp dumpling soup: noticeable roasted garlic and cilantro taste with large dumplings and shredded chicken For a la carte items, make sure NOT to tell them that some of the prices in the menu are wrong! Great hidden Chinese restaurant!! I agree with others that the restaurant doesn't look so appealing from the outside, when once you walk in you have a sense of relief that it's actually pretty nice! My family received great service. After we finished ordering they came to us and even offered free Chow Fun or Fried Rice. Super nice of them!! Food we ordered: Sweet pea vegetable - yummy!! My mom's favorite vegetable to order at Chinese restaurants. It was very flavorful with the sauce they had it in. And cooked thoroughly. Honey walnut prawns - haven't had this dish in a while so wanted to get it and it was great! They weren't stingy and actually gave us a great portion! Plus they were true prawns, unlike other restaurants who claim they will serve prawns on the menu but it actually comes out as tiny shrimp. French style cubed steak - wanted to try a dish that seemed popular in the Yelp world and found many people ordered this so I thought it give it a try. The cubed steak comes on top of lettuce and sliced tomatoes with a side of salt and vinegar. Ehh, I wasn't a huge fan of it but it was okay... Probably won't order again. Black Cod sweet/sour fish - OMG this was my FAVORITE dish of the night. I highly recommend!!! So yummy! The sauce is amazing and the fish was cooked so yummy. Crispy on the outside and tender in the inside! Loved it so much!! Fried rice - came complimentary. Super nice of them!! We originally ordered white rice for the table and our serve asked if we would like complimentary chow fun or fried rice, so we took that offer and took off the white rice we originally ordered. One tofu clay pot, one beef with mixed vegetables. 2 supposedly total different dishes, but turned to be exactly the same with same sauce and ingredients except one has tofu and one has beef. This may be a very hidden area and it may not have the greatest parking, but walk inside and give it a try. You've got nothing to lose and a whole lot of great taste to gain. What's really great about this place is the authenticity. From the rude Asian workers who rush you to order to the unhealthy salt and pepper spear ribs (very delicious I might add), you'll truly get a tasteful dining experience here. My friend Andy's uncle is the co-owner of this restaurant. He tells me how his uncle use to be open until 12:30 AM. Hopefully they'll do that again in the summer. It's hard to find good Asian food at the peak of the early morning. This place is fairly tidy and is quite reasonable priced. The decor is as any other Chinese restaurant-- Nothing special. For dinner, you can have 3 dinner entrees and an order of rice for 4 people at a price of 16 dollars. Complementary soup is given at hand. Not bad at all. What I must truly rave about this place is their ability to order online. There have this spiffy website that gives you the ability to look at what foods you could order and you can just place it for pick up later!! Talk about being with the hype. Good Asian food. Went here last night with my family and on the outside it looks pretty sketch, but the inside looks a littler better! I think my favorite here is the Walnut Shrimp. (It wasn't the best I ever had, but it was still good! Not enough walnuts though) The fried rice wasn't anything special. I can probably make it better. The seafood tofu with lotus was really good as well. We had a lot of other things as well but I can't remember the same but I'll post a picture. The service was okay. The guy who took our order was really nice and the fried rice was complimentary. The portion size was really big. This is definitely an okay place to go with family! THE GOOD Food tasted good. I especially liked how they put basil in the clams with black bean sauce. It added an extra flavor profile that I found quite enjoyable. We had a large party (40 people) and we ordered at 6:00, everyone in our party was seated by 6:30. Food didn't start to come out until 7:30. Seriously, not cool. We had several small kids with us and they were hungry, grouchy, and pissy because it was way past dinner time. Parking was a nightmare. They have a lot but its in the same complex as the Lucky 7 grocery store so most of the parking was taken. ============================================= THE UGLY I kid you not. Both the men and ladies room was out of order. No bathrooms. Isn't there some kind of health code violation? The implication is truly monstrous. You could still go in to wash your hands, but trust me it wasn't worth it to endure what was in those bathrooms. But some folks went ahead and used the bathroom anyways. *Super GROSS* But it got much worse at the end of the night. We were done by 9 pm and lucky for us because as we were leaving, the bathrooms started to emit a foul odor into the dinning area. This is a "hole-in-the-wall" place that really isn't a hole. Even when the location of it being in a small run down strip mall, this place operates like any big restuarant with just a more comfy, homey feel. The food here has the service and flavor of a great home-cooked Asian meal and the service is just as nice. My wife and I just got off work so we decided to go to this restaurant because it was near our house. We ordered a dish called Peking Duck with buns and we asked the waiter is the duck fresh and he replied "yes of course it is". We decided to order the dish to-go because we have kids waiting at home. When we got home and open the dish it was filled with all duck bones! This dish cost 20 bucks. My wife and I were so angry and disappointed when we seen the dish full of bones. Asiana Garden is a place where to get typical chinese food. They have a lot of variety, and if you come here for lunch like I did, then you have a wide variety of rice plates you can choose from. SOUP: Possibly a version of egg drop soup. It had egg white, beef, and mushroom all in a thick soup. Unfortunately, the soup was served cold (lukewarm at best...). In addition, it had little to no flavor either. MAIN DISH: Pepper beef over rice The pepper and beef were served in its own bowl with a brown, sweet sauce in it. It was piping hot and it a good salty and sweet flavor combination. The green and red pepper were cut into bite sized pieces. They still had their crunch as if they were sautéed for a short while before put in the bowl. Although I like my peppers a little softer, peppers are typically served this way in chinese cuisine. Asiana Garden gives you a mountain of short grain rice. Enough to fill you up and some leftovers for later. It was fluffy and warm. The vegetables with the lunch special was pretty boring and bland. Not to mention they were also cold. Overall, the meal was okay. I remember reading on the lunch special that an eggroll was included but I didn't get it. I give this place 3.5 stars! I came here with Ignatius N. and Bo M. We wanted to eat somewhere before we watched a movie. As we entered, we were greeted by a nice aquarium with an arowana. It's a nice family style asian place with a lot of tables. The food here is very asian as the name aptly suggests :) While we were looking over the menu, we were entertained by a server feeding the arowana goldfish. One of the things I love about this place is how cheap everything is and the family sized portions they give you. The server didn't speak english as fluently as I hoped for so I had to point at the menu items I wanted. I ended up ordering honey walnut prawns and westlake beef soup. Ignatius N. ordered salt and pepper beef, while Bo M. ordered squid calamari and the tomato rice with steak cubes. The food came really fast so we didn't wait that long. On to the food: Westlake Beef Soup This soup was really savory and the broth was thick. It was full of beef and mushrooms, two things I love. The mushrooms were my favorite part of this soup! Definitely order this if you have the chance :] Honey Walnut Prawns Sweet! The prawns were really good but I think the walnuts were better. Just kidding, they were both good. The prawns were sweet and bursting with flavor. The only thing I didn't like about this is they went a little overboard on the sauce. Salt & Pepper Beef I only had a piece of this order but I can say I've had better at different places. It was a little too dry and salty for my tastes. You could barely taste the pepper. Squid Calamari I loved the squid calamari! I love seafood and this was probably my favorite order! It was really crunchy on the outside and once I got to the inside it became chewy. The calamari had a mild kick to it which I enjoyed! Steak Cubes & Tomato Rice The tomato rice was tangy and tasted nice. It's really good with the steak cubes if you dip the steak cubes in the lemon/salt mix. We arrived around 6:30 the place was slowly getting packed. This place has good reviews on yelp and I've heard about their 3 items for $15.99. We walk in and it is crowded seating. My chair is right up against the lady behind me and we are both sitting fairly closely to the table. It is close elbow room and it looks like they packed as many tables as they could in there. They did have the NBA playoff game playing on a nice tv and many little flat screens filled with appetizing pictures of their food. It took 20 minutes or so for us to get a waiters attention to take our order. (this is after we tried flagging down a waiter for a long time to get a menu, and no one brought us one, so I walked up to the counter and got one myself). The server told us tonight they were not offering the 3 items for $15.99 so we had to relook over the menu. After another 15+ minutes we finally got someone's attention and placed our order. I got a tri colored ice drink. It was made differently, It did not have the shaved ice that it normally comes with instead it was ice cubes, there were a lot of beans, and what seemed like canned fruit and not the typical 3 things in a tri color ice drink. The plus about this drink was it was quick to come out. After another long wait we finally got utensils and plates delivered to our table and after much more waiting around 8 o clock our food arrived. They delivered clams and chicken without delivering our rice. Many of the clams were not open so we had to use our utensils/hands/teeth to pry them open. The other clams on the other hand looked like they were cracked opened and when we tried to get some of the sauce it came with there were bits and pieces of shells in it. The chicken was supposed to be a salted chicken but it tasted like the normal steam chicken we get at other chinese restaurants. It was also a bit overcooked and dry. The garlic oil sprouts we got were good but pricey for what it was. We got a skillet dish that had scallops, pineapples, shrimp, and onions cooked in a satay sauce that was pretty good. The last dish to come out was our appetizer plate which was a shrimp wrapepd in a dry tofu. It was good but by the time it came out we were pretty much done with our dinner. Maybe I would've been happier if the food arrived sooner and the service was better. I understand it was a busy night and that is why I am still offering 3 stars. Maybe I will opt for the to go option next time. Some of the dishes were worth the price and delicious and some of the others I will pass on next time (like the chicken dish). Decided to come here with some co workers for lunch. They are supposed to have great noodle soup combinations but as I'm vegetarian I went with the veggie pad Thai. From observing their dishes and hearing their responses they enjoyed their food a lot. They also have some cooler entries like the crunchy rice with beef which actually looked really good and a big portion. Actually my pad Thai was a huge portion as well. The restaurant is in a pretty good location at a plaza with plenty of parking and a supermarket next door. The interior is quite large so even during the lunch rush there were free tables. The service was good as the waiters and waitresses were all very attentive and concerned about the timeliness of our dishes. They even stopped by a few times to mention that some dishes were taking longer. The gentleman who took my order also stopped by to check that my dish was vegetarian as it was delivered to make sure I didn't get a meaty one. The typical Chinese tea was provided and a huge plus is they also have their own chopsticks. I usually come here when I have no cash to go eat at Pho Kim Long. They take credit cards here. The first time I went here, I ordered their house special egg noodle soup. That's all me and my family order at this place, the soups. The first time we tried it, we thought it was great. The soup was very flavorful, not watered down like some places. The portions were great and there was an abundance of meat. I thought I had found a new regular place. Eventually though, I noticed that the quality of the cooking begin to grow poorer and poorer. The soup started getting more bland each time I went there. The noodles were softer than they usually were. I just wasn't happy about it. It seemed like they were totally gung ho about cooking when they first open, but they let themselves go after a while. My family's been coming here for years and the food has been consistently good and usually comes out quickly. Their menu is rather extensive and it'd be tedious to go over everything I like, but I can say that I haven't had anything I don't like here yet. It can be hard to miss this great place because it's located in the corner of the very unassuming Me-Kong supermarket plaza, but you should definitely check it out if you're in the area.
