The area used to be a waste dump but has since been converted into a public recreational area. It's…read morenot the prettiest or the cleanest park in town but it still provides great walks, views, and interaction with "wildlife." Yes, this is the park where you can pet the sheep! (and the occasional llama). They are very friendly and especially friendly if you have food! Make sure to bring sheep-friendly foods like carrots if you want their attention. They are able to associate the sound of plastic bags with food so when they hear it, they will come running! But there's also tons of other things to do in this park, i.e. fish, hike, jog, picnic, etc. There are tons of trails throughout the park and really great views of the ocean. Just remember that the park is maintained only by volunteers so be sure to keep the area clean!

Large grass open spots for doing whatever…read more(racket ball, frisbee etc), spots with trees if you need shade, a lake for feeding duck (or messing with them), football fields, Frisbee golf baskets, awesome playground, toilets for kids, toilets for adults, the beautifully "rose garden", nice running paths.... It's very big and you can find both quiet and busy spots. There are often events organised depend on the weather ( I've been to the Color Run this year). The sea is on it's southern end. I haven't seen anyone swimming, but I saw people kayaking couple of times.

Nice, large natural area nearby our hotel. We rode a bike over to roam for a while. There are loads…read moreof criss-crossing dirt trails, (mostly flat) both wide for biking etc and narrow best for on foot. No signage of any kind except at the entrances...it definitely would've been nice, but of course the phone worked fine to choose a route as we went. We had to cross through a few gates, and were hoping to see the animals they were keeping in but no such luck. We did see some horses, lots of birds, butterflies, and LOADS of banana slugs on the trails. A nice peaceful spot for a walk or ride for sure.

The only down side is the lack of small signs. It has some nice paths, it would be cool to just have a small point of what directions they are leading.

We spent the morning roaming the trails of Dyrehaven. We were looking for a great taste of nature…read moreand hoping for a deer sighting and it did not disappoint. We enjoyed walking thru an empty (not yet open?) Bakken upon entry and then wandered up to Hermitage. We encountered a doe and fawns within 10 minutes, as well as many birds throughout. We hit the jackpot after reaching the lodge, where we walked upon a large herd. Just gorgeous! After spending a while admiring the beauties, we headed off towards the Taarbæk exit to find lunch and back towards the train station. Beautiful grounds, lots of (occasionally marked & mapped) trail options, lovely trees, and stunning deer. A great day in Denmark. :)

Usually on a day where we had also been to Bakken we would take a stroll through Dyrehaven with either a picnic or to see if we could catch a glimpse of some deer. Now as an adult I still love Dyrehaven just as much! I generally come here just for the sake of enjoying Dyrehaven and not after a day of being at Bakken. Dyrehaven is such a beautiful place and it's perfect for a relaxing walk, going for a run, bike ride or a picnic. It's a big place to explore with many different paths to take that it's always really enjoyable! Plus, It's always such a thrill when you see deer in the distance. Beautiful!

I love this park. You can literally find something cool to do in this park for every season…read more In the Spring, you can take a peaceful walk amongst the blooming foliage and spot wild deer. During the Summer, you can pack a picnic and enjoy in the the park. You can even spend a night camping! This park produces an ample harvest of apples and wild berries during the Fall. And the changing colors of the leaves is really beautiful. Lastly, you can walk through the park in your own winter wonderland during the Winter when there is snowfall. Don't forget to bring your sled so you can slide down the only "hills" in KBH. There are designated paths that are well kept and provide great routes for running or walking. But there are countless paths that branch out deep into the park if you're feeling extra adventurous. The paved paths are always well-maintained and plowed/salted when there's snow. And then there's of course, the famous "hills" that provide a nice hike and great views from the top. During your visit, don't forget to keep the park clean! They have plenty of designated trash bins on the trails and along the bike paths. Keep this place beautiful!
Great place to get out of the urban area and ride your bike…read more There are so many paths to ride and the surface is good enough for a city bike from a hire place. If it's been raining, you'll get muddy. Would be great in the summer to go out for a picnic.
