The owner and male manager ( assume the same person) is very rude with the customers often when asking for assistance or information about any item or product in the store. I had an experience where the person told me I cannot explain to you about this product , if you do not like it go somewhere. I have no idea how a business run with this kind of rude behaviour and negative customer service. Never again will ever visit that shop. I feel for the employees what they are under. Want to be ogled at by men while you change and get you measurements, Asiyans is your place. Pathetic! And of course the stitching lady would do nothing about it but grin. I did speak with store owner about this incident. Unless changes take place, I am not coming here again, and recommend others to not to as well. read more

I'm not South Asian, but I needed a blouse for an event and was recommended to Asyans by a friend. Going into the store was a complete waste of my time. The staff were very rude to me and did not want to help me. The seamstresses even ignored my questions that I had for them. I eventually gave up and walked out. Never have I seen such MEDIOCRE service. Gerrard street has tons of stores with courteous staff and nicer clothes. I recommend going elsewhere before wasting your time at Asyans, especially if you're not South Asian. read more

Terrible service, rude employees, overall dissatisfaction with their "tailors.". They desperately need customer service training.

Don't be fooled if you walk in the front doors of Asyans- It will look like you are walking into a cheap, very small store with random every day items and a few items of clothing. You have to go upstairs where you will find a completely different place. The second floor has wall to wall / floor-to-ceiling fabric and sarees with every design/material you can think of. Probably the biggest supplier in the area. (The third floor is the same but has shalwar's and other 3-pc suits.) They also have on site tailors and jewelry. The only downside is the same with any other saree outlet (ie- they might give you a hard time if you're not brown). Overall they're fairly accomodating (though their english isn't that great). Prices are average though some of the materials are super expensive. The first shalwar I got from there had one sleeve that was smaller than the other so I went back the next day and the tailor fixed it in 5 minutes for no extra charge. Despite the mediocre service, the selection they have is really awesome. read more

After I was hearing about their prices are bit higher than other Indian/Srilankan clothing store, I was bit hesitant to shop there. But, last night I went there and spend almost 3hrs. They have variety of selections with all different price range according to your budget. Sales persons are very patient, polite and with good customer service skills. I got one green beautiful stone work saree, 3 designer sudithars for 800 bucks. They were originally priced bit higher; however, after my negotiation i got a very reasonable price. It was very pleasant experience shopping there. Most importantly, not like other Sri lankan stores, these people have good customer service skills. read more

Terrible terrible terrible customer service and workmanship. I wish I could give this review no stars but others need to be warned. I went in and got five blouses made. I gave them a whole month to finish those blouses and not one of them fit my bridesmaids right. They measured all my girls and still made them all way too small. To make things worse they even charged me for more trim for the blouses because the amount they had told me to buy wasn't enough. They weren't even done on time. As I stated I gave them one whole MONTH to finish these blouses they called me the day before they were due and told me they had even started the order. Let me point out I had paid them in full. They just claimed that they had an emergency orders that had to be done before my paid order (like really for a whole month???). Also they were unapologetic as if it was my issue and the work was so sloppy. Never ever ever will I go back for custom orders. read more

BUYER BEWARE: Their tailor service is the WORST. Forget customer service, they need to get rid of their entire alterations and tailor department. Sure, go ahead and buy from them, but DO NOT USE their tailoring service. Worst! Worst! Worst! I bought a fuchsia colour un-stitched lehenga from them and got them to stitch it based on my measurements. Instead of making my top like a lehenga blouse, they made it like a saree blouse - SO SHORT! This is despite taking my measurements, telling them specifically NOT to making it like a saree blouse. Huge language barriers - they just don't understand. Then they re-did the blouse and added extensions, but the workmanship looked like a monkey would have stitched it. Absolutely terrible. I had to cover the blouse with the dupatta because of sheer embarrassment. Waste of money, my patience and I will never shop there ever again. read more
