There are always interesting daily specials to compliment the menu like Venison Pie or Roast Duck, to name but a few. The main menu has numerous pasta, pizza and seafood dishes, with most dishes having the option of starter or main meal sizes. The meals are full of flavour, even for basic dishes like carbonara, a real treat for the tastebuds! Desserts range from the traditional Tiramisu, to lemon tortes and profiteroles, rounded off by a good strong cup of coffee. The staff are enthusiastic and friendly, and the whole restaurant has very relaxed feel, tastefully decorated with stunning wildlife prints. Like the food, service was spot on. Prompt and attentive without being rushed. The meals were served hot and fresh. The chairs are comfortable, music at an appropriate level so it didn't drown out conversation but you couldn't hear other tables' talk, creating a good atmosphere. Prices are reasonable. Portions are not huge, particularly the pasta, which probably helps keep the prices fair, but it does mean anyone with an appetite can enjoy 3 courses without leaving overly stuffed. The location is odd, tucked away in a quiet side street, nothing like you would imagine for even an average restaurant. There's a car park for hotel guests but for diners you have to park on the street. We got a space out front but you may have to drive round a little at busy times (though street parking is free). Check their website for hours as Yelp has it wrong. Dress code (on a Saturday evening) seemed to be smart casual (jeans and a shirt, shoes) so we were a little casual (but it wasn't a problem). I'm hoping to stay at the attached hotel next time I'm visiting so I can eat here multiple times. I grew up in Loughborough and am genuinely shocked that such a spectacular meal is served here!!

Every time I go I struggle to pick a dish as every one sounds (and is) so tasty! The views from the balcony are great of the lake and there's more than adequate parking. You'll definitely need to get a taxi back as the wine menu is something to enjoy. While it may seem expensive to some of us it is totally worth it and is perfect for a romantic meal or special occasion, or any occasion at that! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Italian food, particularly pasta, is deceptively simple and very easy to do wrong. I tend not to order it when I'm out because it is so often disappointing, with dry pasta or underwhelming flavors, or just ridiculously overpriced. Casa Romana does it perfectly and I've never had a bad meal there. The prices are very reasonable, the portions are good, and the menu is full of traditional dishes like lasagna and spaghetti carbonara plus a few fancier options as well as the daily specials. The atmosphere is friendly and the staff always great. The decor nice but comfortable, this place isn't trying to be trendy but it's nice enough for a date or taking your mother to. As others have mentioned, it's worth making a reservation if you've going in the evening just in case they're full. Also keep in mind there's no sign outside, just look for the cozy place with the distinctively shaped door.
